We play realistic games that are FPS, RTS, Simulator, ect. Every now and then, we may take a look at some other interesting or just fun games. While tackling certain games I will discuss different real world tactics and or principles that can be applied in different situations from my experience!
War Thunder: F-15C Is So Fun To Fly
We got the F-15C and it is just a blast. Slap some AIM-120s on it and you're having a good time! We win some, we lose some. We have fun doing it.

Well active radar missiles are now in War Thunder and getting use to them will be quite interesting. Sometimes they work to well and sometimes they don't seem to work at all.

I played 13.0 about 10 times so far and I’ve had the unpleasant experience of being fox-3’d from behind mid dogfight a few times. Maybe I stopped chaffing too soon but they definitely seem to get a solid lock even in close in dogfights
@cutthroat795 it's definitely challenging! Still figuring it out! I've found playing conservatively pays off! Try to hold off on rushing in if you can! 👍

Not sure how WT is doing back-end distance calculations as we aren't engaging at 60+ miles but more like 10, and I'm not up to date with how accurately WT radar deals with countermeasures and clutter so it kinda throws things way up in the air with BVM fights. But you are basically always inside the minimum abort range at these kinda ranges when you start to bring AMRAAMs into the mix, and then throwing physics to boot so combine both and at these ranges your really fighting a losing uphill battle trying to defeat a missile. Each time you got popped you were virtually cutting off tree tops while the guy who shot you had about a 10,000+ foot elevation advantage on you, which means their missiles had a lot more energy to maneuver to intercept your flight path than your missile did; it's burning all its fuel fighting gravity and drag just to try and lob itself up into the atmosphere versus having gravity work in its favor so that may be why you were having a hard time and your missiles kept being defeated. But that said, the flip side of the coin is you should also be a harder target being that low and fast on the deck as the enemy plane (or the missile itself if it's pitbull) has to look down at you and try and pick out your plane among all the clutter of the ground, so with you being that low and at least going a reasonable speed and notching the missile you shouldn't be getting near insta-gibbed constantly like you were. But again, not sure how WT is implementing radar performance versus the more gameified older version on the older planes of just giving your gun/bomb a lead indicator or pointing out the Bleeps, Sweeps and the Creeps as a glorified red dot on a mini-map.
@fubar5884 I feel yuh there! That is my problem. Not entirely sure how the radars work enough in game to decide if ground clutter actually breaks missiles lock or track lock. I've had numerous times where a low flying jet is really hard to lock up and I have to use IR missiles to engage. On the other hand doesn't seem like other players have that issue against me. I've been watching some of the replays with the new radar overlay and still can't really make heads or tails with it. I appreciate the input though!

I think the reason enemy missiles are finding you but yours aren't finding them is because they're at or above 10,000 feet and you're on the deck when the engagement starts. They're seeing you first since their radars can cover more area from up there, and he who sees first has a massive advantage. Their missiles are also getting launched from thin air and coming down on your head with the help of gravity, while yours are fighting upward against gravity and getting launched from the thicker air on the deck. All the enemy has to do is go full burner and do some turns to force your missiles to turn hard, and your missiles are wasted before they reach the bandit. Of course, the closer you are to them, the harder they have to defend, but if you're shooting at them from around 25+ nautical miles out and they're at 10,000 feet or more and you're on the deck, this is probably how the fight will usually go.
That's what I was thinking, if they are far above him and he's on the ground and in the trees, no amount of bobbing and weaving matters cause he's never breaking LOS when a missile is coming from above...

So the battles I was in most of them I would start out at about 25k ft. Get locks, fire some missiles, maintain with tws, and only begin a notch and descent once I got a missile warning. I still would never score hits from 25-30km range. Whether the target was low or high. So I started to stay low and attempt to sneak up on enemy planes using canyons and what not to hide from radars. After playing some more I think I got it figured out. We shall see!!

yes! It would take ages to traverse some of these maps with prop planes. I miss the simplicity when 50s era was the most advanced. 😂
Yep they are . I was shocked by the 20km size(might be a bigger/smaller map) when i started with jets , but i quiclky adapted to that. Its usual to have big maps(atleast in my case) , but depends of gaijin blesses me or not.
They are not the same as Fox one missiles where you get a launch warning as soon as it’s fired no matter what range its fired fro. When firing a Fox three from TWS you don’t get the missile warning until that missile goes active/pitbull and it’s already within 16 km of hitting you. So it was fired from farther away than you realized. Also from the clips some you were not in a full notch. The missile warning needs to be exactly 90 degrees to the nose of the plane in the RWR on either side then you chaff while notched. The early clip the missile warning was 45 degrees off the nose and chaffing won’t do anything because at the angle the pulse dipper radar in the missile is still seeing the biggest metal object of your plane. Hope this helps
Yes I'm aware of how they are operating I appreciate it though. The problem I'm having is I'll watch my missiles tracking the same targets with no change or very little change in the target flight path well within range of the missiles battery and flight time. Won't get hits. On the other hand I'll dive, notch, try to burn the missiles energy, pop chaff, ect and get hit. I can fly a foot off the ground between trees and get hit consistently while a jet at 15k ft just continues flying towards me and my missiles misses. You are right as far as a few of those clips I was not at a 90 ect. Neither are the people I'm trying to shoot down and for some reason my missiles never hit. I'm gonna hit it up again and really try to do better with my notch ect. See if I can't get some better results! 👍

Yo dude, I've known about your channel for a long time, somehow just found this. i wanna take a sec to thank you for all the work you do. I know how hard recording, editing, screwing with the algorithm to avoid getting it taken down, and then uploading is. I really appreciate you posting steady content, or steady enough. I don't have a device that can run DK2 yet, so I live vicariously through you, Karmakut, Ganjirah, CPG, Drewski, and other great milsim players(and yes, i do think you're on par with them). But honestly, I really do appreciate it. And maybe try the project ARES mod, you can decrease the cost of the units to 75, 50, or 25 percent of what they were orginally, and you get 3 new factions. Being an ODA SFG with a commando element, a CAG element with ISA specialists and a 24th STS JTAC, and then of course, the realistic Rangers. Thanks again for all the hard work bro.

Really just enjoy editing videos to the basic ability I can, the little bit of engagement I get through comments, and if people like it even better! Even if one person finds the video and likes it awesome! I try to be slightly different with DK videos simply because there's already so much content involving SF teams, frags, rockets, ect. Try a different approach im familiar with utilizing ballistic shields and flashbangs. Makes the game a bit more challenging as well. I have also found that in the game files you can reduce the costs which I have done since this video. Significantly better! But I'll look into some of those mods. Sadly I'm really just waiting for the campaign to come out hopefully sometime soon! Been stale on the updates. Hope you continue to like the videos though! I'll continue to make them when I can!! Also I really appreciate the compliment!! Means the world! Those guys make some banger videos!

I've done this exact same method several times and have only landed two 54a's on target. Out of probably 60 missiles fired....not a good ratio if you ask me. What I'm seeing here in the video seems unreal compared to my experience
Out of 4 missiles typically there is atleast 1-2 hits from my experience on average. You need to go after targets that are heading towards you and make sure you have enough altitude for the missile to maintain speed. The phoenix was never designed for fast moving and nimble fighters. It was designed for slow speed bombers. So going after targets flying straight towards you before they break in another direction and ensuring the missile drops down onto them with enough speed gives you the best chance for a hit. Hope that helps!

I'd enjoy the long form of this run. I'm working through the vanilla campaigns right now, and it's helpful to hear the reasoning behind those little decisions that keep your guys alive vs not. Great run, yeah this map is huge and several moments looked pretty dicey

Hmmm I like the way you think. Just start from the beginning missions or find a community list of like 8-10 missions. 👍
If you want a more realistic amount of guys without the artificial scarcity DK2 has, you can edit the supply cost of units in the unit.xml file located in the mod folder. "100" is one deployment slot, and "25" will allow you to have 4x as many guys depending on the amount of deployment slots available on a map.
Good looking out. Usually 6-8 man teams is ideal to handle most of the problems with security, rake and break teams, ect. Sadly we are usually stuck with between 2-4 haha!

hey bro just a tip, when you're towing stuff offroad, usually a trailer you end up losing all your speed if you aren't in first gear. the game auto shifts you to second a lot when you accelerate fast enough. it's annoying. usually stay in 1st gear as much as possible off road and you own't have a constant loss of speed. you can tap W again if you drive offroad and dip below 25.

It's crazy! I debated on regular speed or slow motion and the regular speed makes it very difficult to really see what's happening. Figured I'd do a mix of both just for perspective. Hope you keep liking the videos! 👍
Just found your channel. I like the content good job handling that beginning. The game doesn't tell you this anywhere but if you press shift + F it toggles the go silent thing on and off for everyone nice and simple. Might save you a headache one day.

Only maps are on workshop. Have to use nexus mods.
Such a great game, love the ability to play a top-down strategy or just get down and dirty with a tank or a WWII Rambo. The MoW series and this game are slept on.

Tried the aim7’s. Everyone is notching at close range when you lock them so pretty useless in the majority of cases. Love the phoenixes though. Great Video!
