So, in the last video, I modelled and 3D printed this case for the iPad Pro using PCBWay's service. It's been performing incredibly over the past few days, so I'm uploading a quick showcase of how I use it and what you might use it for. Of course, I'll do a follow-up in a few months to check if it's still working and maybe come up with a better design. I still see this as a prototype. Special t...

Fixing The Logitech MX Master 3S Buttons - Teardown

In this video, we tear down the Logitech MX Master 3S to fix a common button failure. I'd recommend getting the Kailh switches instead of the ones I bought. The dimensions of the switches are 6 x 6 x 7.3 mm, so if you search for those measurements, you'll find suitable replacements.

My EDC Electric Board - Exway Wave - Full Review
Did you find discover a good depth for the screws to go into the speakers? I'm looking to do something similar to what you did for those and just curious since you probably did the research somehow already (I've got the same model). Thanks!
bro I need to know your workflow, how do you even produce this production quality with the amount of content you've been pumping out lately!
It might be cool to tidy up the cable runs coming out the front of the KVM using keystones and patch panels. I reckon you could even print it to size. It’s not a requirement by any means, but it could be one way to help make that side of the desk a little less overwhelming without getting rid of the physical interfaces?
I'm happy to find your channel. Great work.
Honestly, I do love the fact that I just randomly stumbled upon your channel. The fact that you're Dutch as well only makes it that more fun for me, lmao. (And will say, your English is really freaking amazing dude. Very British tone.) The setup looks amazing. Little cluttered but you're also still adding / modifying so I'm able to look past it. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to seeing the progress of this.
You’re becoming my favorite UA-camr
try a small cut of "Quakehold! Museum Putty" to help hold the switch in place.
I would suggest switching to an FX30/3 because of their reliability, ergonomics and integrated cooling fans. They also have full-sized HDMI ports. The image quality is not really a standout regardless of brand, they're all good.
Ive been looking trough all you videos now. Multiple times. Whats the brand of the display mounts? Love vids, keep'em coming!
An unpowered HDMI repeater, also called a passive repeater, simply acts as a signal "buffer" by electronically passing the HDMI signal through its circuits without amplification, essentially allowing for a longer HDMI cable run by mitigating signal degradation that occurs over long cable distances; it does not require external power because it doesn't actively boost the signal, but rather just helps maintain its integrity.
I worked at a company with a office network and a secure network and a computer could only be connected to one of them so I had two computers and used a KVM to switch between them dozens of times per day.
Im loving this desk project, im excited to see more
The new mouse ears feature in the latest version of Bambu studios could help some with adhesion to build plate especially since your using a bed slinger instead of a core xy machine.
Hey yo Flatlander,, good to see another video! love the consistency ! just saw your video and wanted to say thanks for all the videos you do, they inspire me :) so decided to make my own 3d scanner with Rasperry Pi :) hopefully it will work :D just need some 3d printed parts (waiting a month to save up for a printer atlast) and waiting for Nema motors ;) should arrive in two weeks :) hopefully it will work fine
loved this one! in terms of slicer have you ever used Orca slicer? It's my favorite to use with most printers :) !
Love how this project is turning out! Not entirely sure what some of the gear does to be honest, but it’s super interesting seeing how people adapt their working environment to suit their own particular needs. The production value of your videos and work is always insane, keep up the great work dude!
I definitely like it being displayed. Giving a big instrument panel for professional vibe. Like it's purposefully supposed to be there.
the speaker setup is ace
❤
Looks Good!!
For some reason, it feels like your top-down camera is a bit over 90 degrees to the table. Feels like I'm about to fall over 😄
First
what app are you using on your ipad
THIS IS SICK
Really awesome video! and the device looks beautiful. Well done!
what software do you use for 3d modeling?
This video really inspired me to get a 3d scanner! Looks super nice for modelling and making stuff
Its absolutely game changing for those exact purposes, yesterday I took apart a precision electric screwdriver for a smaller EDC tool build and the scans that came out of that where just insane, its especially great for smaller objects, so stoked for the future. Do you have one aswel? or did you order one?
im late to the video :( was busy few days. so now chilling with cup of coffe and seeing you making stuff i allways wanted to make :D i have an urge to Buy Bambu lab printer for years now... still cant save for it. wanted a 3d scanner too :D but man that stuff you got is really not for my pocket.... But man i do respect you and all the stuff you do :) Keep it up. i will allways will be waiting for your videos and projects.
Glad to hear from you again @4tra! :) Haha its funny I personally often watch gameplay videos when I'm modelling stuff, because I don't personally have time to game anymore, but its quite nice that other people then upload it so we can still enjoy, I guess we are kind of sharing parts of life through this medium, which is such a strange thing to think about like 30 years ago that would have been impossible. Do you have a 3d printer ?
@@FlatLanderTech No not yet :) i would love to Buy one but man.. it's difficult here to get hands on one :D but definately im going to buy myself a nice christmas present :D i allways wanted 3d printer/ cnc mill and a welder :D thats the three things im most looking forward to getting. :D
have you the stl for the wheel thing mate? can't see it on the pcbway page!
This is awesome, you're inspiring me to figure out what tools I would put in my own version. What CAD program is that by the way? It looks very friendly compared to many I've seen
It is indeed! its called shapr3d I can highly recommend it! Glad you enjoyed the video thank you :)
Awesome video
Thanks!
Glad you enjoyed!
But why not use a wireless keyboard and mouse
Its indeed my intention to upgrade to some wireless version but for now mostly busy with other stuff :)
need a battery bank in there too. case is thick enough?
ah yeh i just saw the end where u mentioned the hotswap battery. ideal
Hi @FlatLanderTech, thank you so much for this project! Impressive! BTW: The first link in the description isn't working. And are you able to provide us with the file for the ring too?
What scanner are you using ?
Question, why not relocate the switch the power strip already has instead of splicing the cable? You could probably keep the switches you have and just make it less...janky
Amazing video, I am not a filmmaker but I think the shots of you talking to the camera maybe would look better with a little more empty space and then also maybe a secondary little wider angle to cut to sometimes, like you might see in in interviews when people comment over stuff. I think rule of thirds and all of that plays a role there and different compositions
The monitor arm, from the inside where you drilled in, I maybe would add a plate instead of just washers? It'll spread the weight more and last longer! :D
Where can i get the scaffold tube mount?
Can you still not edit video directly from the drives on Ipad? That was the reason kept me off it.
You can with davinci resolve, thats also what pushed me over as thats now possible. not with final cut tho, kind of funny that davinci has managed to do it and apple on their own product hasn't, (My info may be outdated tho so take it with a grain of salt apple may have updated their own stuff too )
@FlatLanderTech That is great to hear! Another reason for me to switch to resolve from Premiere. Thank you for the answer. Your chanel is amazing and everything you do.
Generally to switch high voltage you use a relay with a say a 5 volt control line. You can even get optically isolated relays for the ultimate in safety.
please use a relay and watch some videos from a real electrician. that's really dangerous, don't get injured :o
What scanner model is that?
its the CR Scan Raptor :)
Awesome video! The timelapses quality are amazing, did you followed some tutorial for those or you made id by yourself? Appreciate you time!
Made this one myself, i might share the mod soon if i can find the time. its basically a little switch with a replacement cap at the side of the device that has a switch on it which triggers the camera.
Would love to know your bamboo A1 timelapse set up. It looks smooth.
🤙🏽🤟🏽👌🏽
🤟🏽👌🏽 :)
nice keep up the great work.
Bonjour, super travaille. J'ai une question!, a 2,42mn il y a sur votre tablette un logiciel, pouvez vous me dire quelle et t'il. merci d'avance.
Those switches are fine as long as they're rated for the voltage and current you use. You'd still want to properly ground them though. Also you might want to invest in a cheap crimping tool. If you simply crimp on connectors you get auch safer connection, not that the way it is right now is unsafe, it's just not as safe as it should be nowadays.
How do you import your 3d scans into shapr3d? I also use shapr and was thinking about picking up a scanner but I only use it on my iPad basically so wasn’t sure how that process would work
I export the scan as an STL on the Scanner software, send it over to the ipad via either Airdrop or google drive, hit import at the top with the little 3 dots, select the file, its going to ask if you want to import in, mm and all the other stuff, i keep it on mm, and its in, and in that way its emediately accurate aswel. :)
@ awesome! Thank you so much!
