Emily Gray Koehler, Printmaker, will guide you through some tips and tricks to setup a home printmaking studio in advance of her virtual workshops.
I have loved your art for a long time. Thank you for this demonstration.
Lovely print. What is the block/plate you are using please? It seems to carve really easily.
Thank you! This block was carved in MDF (medium density fiberboard). While it is easier to care than a grained wood (I usually use birch plywood), it's not "really easy" and it can be hard on one's tools. MDF can be a good option if you don't want to show grain or be inhibited by the grain during carving.
Really nice and instructional video, but also above average motive and execution. 👍
Beautiful! I love the setup of your studio. This process really appeals to me. There’s that element of “Once it’s gone, it’s gone!”
This is an excellent demonstration. Your art is beautiful.
Thank you! It was a fun project to capture the whole process.
Thank you for making the video. I never realized how many times you ran the print through! Wow!
Wowser! You never cease to amaze me Emily.
