Welcome to Way Up West Outdoors!
We’re the Laughters. Follow along one video at a time as we adventure through seasons not just here in Idaho.
Preparation for all seasons take place year round in our house. Fitness and hard work are the ethos of our hunting style.
Primarily you’ll see us with bows in hand but we aren’t afraid to use a boom stick on occasion.
When we aren’t at our day jobs you can bet we’re in the woods - together. As you could guess, hunting with your spouse takes ample patience. Learning to navigate the well deserved ups and many inevitable downs of hunting has bound us together stronger than our wedding vows.
For the record, it’s not pronounced laughter - it’s like daughter but with an L. 😅

I picked one of these up in 7mm PRC. Holy crap I wasn't prepared for the cost of this ammo, shits impossible to find and costs about $75 a box before tax. Save yourself the pain and buy a 7mm rem mag and shoot ammo at $23 a box instead.
I am the same way I leave my pistol on my hip belt and if I drop my pack it stays. Good luck for the rest of your hunts
I use a Gun Fighters chest holster and find it comfortable under my binos, but here is a compromise: get an kydex iwb holster, they way nothing, clip it on your pack then when you dump your pack for a stalk stick it in your waist band and reholster your pistol. That way your gun is always on you whether glassing, stalking or shooting a deuce .
That’s a good idea. Might have to play with that!
Dude I stack my 10 mm clips the same. I call it the poke and tear system. I live in Wyoming and hunt grizzly country quite a bit.
Poke and tear 😂😂 I’m using that for now on! Glad to hear the way I went about it was the same as a resident griz country hunter.
great tips, thanks
You betcha 🤜🏼
Thanks!
You bet John!
I load for a 6.5prc carbon waypoint with razor lht and an older fn spr fixed Macmillan with viper…fn is .3” gun waypoint would be if I add more weight but still shot a 1 hole group 135a tips with n560. I like 110gr v max/varmageddons in my .308s along with 75s,68s n such. Run a 95gr v max 3600fps out that prc which equates to total vaporization..🫡
First pair I picked up “oh shit!” And every person I showed them to said the same thing. What you can catch with your eye because of the stabilization is incredible.
Haha. Handed it to a cowboy on a horse to check out, he slowly said… well I’ll beeeee…. Haha that was a new one.
Rock stars 🤘🏼 much respect 🫡
Thank you 🙏
I ordered one direct from Sig a few weeks ago and got the ship notification at 3 AM this morning. Got the 6.5 STX since I already have a Desert Tech in 7PRC. Maybe next year I'll dip for the 7. One thing you forgot to mention is that these are change barrel, Multi Cal, rifles. I plan to get a 7mm-08 barrel for this one.
You’re right! I haven’t messed with the barrel swap at all. I did forget bout that!
Good review. I have the 12's and the 20's in the second Gen. Been game changers. Not sure these are worth the upgrade for me but excited to see what they do next with this tech.
Thank you! I’m excited as well!
Great video as always I’ll take those trekking poles if you upgrade them haha
😂they’re still going strong this season! Missing a lot of cork. And no tips anymore 😂
@@way-up-west-outdoors sometimes you just gotta stick it out lol I need to get me a set but haven’t got around to do it yet
Отличный выстрел,, отличный трофей,браво!!!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why go with these when the Cannon IS 15x50 are $400 less?
I’ve never looked through the canon ones to be honest.
These Sigs have double the image stabilization strength and a lifetime warranty.
Just got back from my first time going after them with a bow..and boy I’m hooked
They are a trip!
this is great! super helpful to see another perspective on setups, looking at this bow myself. Thanks and good luck! Don't live in a box!
I have run canon image stabilized binos for years, they are great but not new tech. If they were image stabilized, had a LRF, and gave ballistic data in screen then that would be a game changer. Eliminate two extra items from pack.
.838 b.c. 190gr ATIP in 7mm PRC Fury when?
Hey out of curiosity how was the accuracy of the rifle as well what velocities were you getting from the 24in barrel
It’s cool you got Aaron Rodgers to bugle for you…..😂😂
You’re my favorite UA-cam comment of all time 🤪🫶🏻
Should’ve ended the teaser with just the bloody leaves, now we know what the ending is!!!!!!! 😂😂😂 Doesn’t matter, ima still watch…..
Congrats! Looking forward to the vid
Thanks! 😊 🤜🏼

I’m not sure how that’s an argument for mils.

Nah
Loved the bloopers! lol. Liking the videos and your style of producing them! Keep up the great work and looking forward to seeing all the hunts this fall. Good luck out there!
Thank you! Trying to keep it real! Haha
Thanks for your review. What is the outside diameter at the muzzle of the original Cross Magnum with steel barrel ?
Have you tried the Bergara MG Lite?
If these were invented by our founding fathers the whole of North and South America would’ve been one supercountry. They’re that good.
Lovely edit
Thank you 🙏
I have one con to share because i have the 16x. is the auto time off which is set to 10 minutes. If you are not aware of this like i was at the beginning its highly annoying to turn them off then back on.
I did forget to mention that. It’s a bit startling when they turn off lol. But I’d rather them shut off when I forget to turn them off and stuff them in my harness. rather than them getting drained when I forget
@@way-up-west-outdoors 10 minutes is such a short amount of time especially you're glassing. I wish the auto stop feature was 30 minutes or an hour. Put a lithium battery in them and they'll last a year or 2.
I haven’t found the 10 min to be an issue. It’s become a habit to turn them on and off as I lower them from my face to reset them. Btw as I said in the video you’re not supposed to use lithium in the binos.
Great video Steve!
Thank homie 🤘🏼
Good information! I just invested in the gen 2’s and am super excited for these to come in the mail just before the season starts!

Awesome camera work
@@MawsYT thank you! We enjoy it!
i have the gen 1 16x42 then got wowed by the gen 2 20x42. i guess some more wow in store plus swar's upcoming 14x 52 i will be swiping CC like a mad man.
Haha. More wow is a great way to put it. The gen 1s were cool. But Stone Age compared to the pros
Any tripod mounts yet? Or can you attach a arca Swiss plate? Still like to throw my sig on the tripod to really pick apart a hill side Thanks in advance!
@@tylermorine4222 they are working on the mounts for the PROs but they do have mounts for the 2nd gen
Would the 14 by 50 glasses be to much for close range. I mainly bow hunt whitetail in the Midwest and go out west once a year
I would say the 14s would be too tight if you’re in thick timber and can’t see much more than 50 yards. If you hunt more open fields they’d be fine. For out west they are money. They do make 12x42s in the 2nd gen that are still solid. But obviously not the pros. Might be a happy medium?
🔥 This was 🔥
Glad you liked it! Thank you 🙏
Sig ones are awesome, had then for two seasons and they just work.
These new pros are killer!
Anyone else grind their teeth the second this video started and he took a slurp sip and clanked the ice? People eating or drinking mic’d up is never a good idea. Ffs
Grinding your teeth is bad for your teeth.
Nope!
😜
Did it hurt your lady parts too?
Congratulations on your tags. Looking forward to those videos for sure! What brand are your "hobo" fingerless gloves?
Those are from Kifaru 🤜🏼
These are incredible. I have the 2nd gen 16 powers and the innovation that Sig is coming out with always blows me away. Would love a pair of these in my arsenal
You’re not wrong! Incredible people doing awesome things! You just wait to see what’s next 🫨
Love mine! I used Jason’s “regular” binos the other day and was like… how do you see through these freehand? 😅😅😅
The voodoo is insane 😂
Are you sponsored by Sig?
We have done work for them, shot content for them like I said in the video. They have sponsored one of our hunting films. But they did not pay for this review nor did they get any say in what I said.
Side by side comparison with the 2nd gens would be great to see.
That’s a good idea 🤜🏼
That pack does not appear to be used at all🤔
Probably a good testament to Kifaru, it’s 2+ years old and. Been used on half a dozen plus packs outs, shed trips, many miles and many hunting trips.
Take a peak at our last short where she’s packing out her bull. Same pack 😘
