Sanborn Meadow Farm
Приєднався 25 лют 2017
Sanborn Meadow Farm is a small homestead and working farm in central New Hampshire. Our vision is to support a small, decentralized, resilient food system by growing our own food, sharing with our neighbors and contributing to the development of local food sources in our area. We currently sell seasonal greens, honey and chicken eggs from pastured hens. We raise broiler chickens and turkeys on pasture. Our property is a work in progress as we add native plants, boost biodiversity, and work on fun projects that will add to the beauty of this special property. Please join us as we continue on this adventure!

Introducing the Pond Garden!
Переглядів 13421 день тому
I have an exciting new project to add to my long list of garden and homestead projects - building a pond garden within the walls of an old barn foundation. The project is just starting and there will be more videos showing the progress to come. Here, I will show you the "before" condition of the area and walk you through my ideas for how I envision the garden design. I'm very excited about this...
Shade Garden Problems and New Projects
Переглядів 2928 днів тому
A longer garden video covering a few problems in the shade garden and then reviewing my plans for the big perennial border behind the house. I'm setting the stage for many videos to come that will take you through a multitude of projects designed to finally complete many of the garden projects I've been thinking about for a long time but was too distracted with other things to really dig into t...
Meat Birds' Final Days
Переглядів 203Місяць тому
Our meat birds have been on pasture for the past 5 weeks and now it's time to say goodbye. We believe that if we eat meat, we have a responsibility to ensure it was raised in the best way possible. We can raise chickens and turkeys and rely on several local farms we trust for beef and bison. Buying locally raised meat is so important for many reasons including being able to see the animal durin...
Chicken Chores - Summer Update
Переглядів 429Місяць тому
Wow. July is gone and it's been a hot crazy summer thus far. Here's an update on how our laying flock is doing and a glimpse into my daily chicken chores out in the back pasture. Always an adventure with these girls! Making these videos is proving more challenging as tasks and projects on the farm keep me running all day with little downtime to film and edit. I will try to share as much as I ca...
Pollinators in the Herb Butterfly Garden
Переглядів 42Місяць тому
My apologies for the dearth of videos lately. Too many pans in the fire and not enough free time in between to make videos. Things will come down a notch in a week or two and I can put together some much needed garden and chicken updates! In the meantime, the herb butterfly garden featured in my last video is positively vibrating with pollinators. I'm checking multiple times a day as I walk by ...
Herb and Butterfly Garden
Переглядів 812 місяці тому
Today I'll take you for a stroll through my little herb and butterfly garden next to the house. It's full of herbs I use in the kitchen and a riot of annual flowers that attract bees and butterflies. By mid-summer, it's a bit of a chaotic mess as I always seem to overplant. But I'm ok with the messiness. It's a colorful spot to putter around in when I have a few minutes. Enjoy! Broilers' First Day on Pasture!
Переглядів 2532 місяці тому
Here on the farm, we believe poultry belong outside on pasture, not stuffed in a windowless barn with 20,000 other birds. We raise and process our own meat birds in order to give them the best life possible and not support the environmental and ethical horror that is factory farming. Today, the young broilers go out on pasture for the first time. In this video, I take you through the process of...

Morning Chicken Chores Routine (Winter Edition)
Looks great, Kathy. From dreams to reality!
A bit more to do before "reality" but I'm excited about it!
You got this! Creating a pond will have a big impact on local wildlife and I'm sure it'll turn out beautifully
Thank you! It's a daunting project for sure!
Very ambitious Kathy! Let me know when you have been balm to remove - I'll take some off your hands.
Where is your farm ?
Love your work ❤
Your job is very intertesting
❤
Beautiful
Thank you!
We just moved to our farm in West Virginia and I now have huge maple trees that I want to do a shade garden under. I also have a root cellar with a rock wall on each side of it. This year I planted pumpkins on top of the rock wall in hopes of a few pumpkins hanging over the rocks for fall. The shade garden & veggie garden are my projects this year. I’ll tackle the rock wall next year. You have a beautiful garden. Great inspiration! You have a great eye for an aesthetically pleasing garden.
Thank you!
Thanks for the fishing line idea.
Why is the garden screaming?
noooo! I think they meant to say that the water/rain is relieving their plants, after the previous heatwave.😅
@@miasolti you are correct. Several days of 90-95+ heat and humidity, this rain was a welcome relief for the garden and our well.
Everything looks beautiful!
I love spinach my dad had a farm in our backyard
And for lunch and dinner, too!
Thanks for sharing your beautiful farm and journey. Suzie is adorable.
Great to see a local youtuber. Good luck following your dreams.
Enjoyed your video.
Looks great Kathy! If you need more ajuga, we've got them running wild!
Those are some happy chickens! Great video! 🐓
awww, thanks! 😊
Well, how many chickens did you count, Kathy?
