I'm not from the states, but I used to date a girl from Indiana, who didn't talk like Boomhauer, and only had the slightest twang when she talked. One time, I was telling her how fascinating I find Boomhauer's accent (any strong accent, really), and she told me "Oh, so like my mom when she gets angry". _Inmediately_ I started machinating how I could somehow be around her mom when that happened, just because I _need_ to hear this irl.
