My is advise is DONT. Unless you want to live in a city ran by democrats, extreme liberal politics and IU. As a person born and raised in Bloomington, I moved away. The prices are ridiculous and the government a joke.

Bloomington has all the costs of larger cities without any of the amenities. The city is in an awkward spot with population, and I feel like more businesses won’t invest in Bloomington where they could go somewhere else. Ultimately, this video is just another reminder that Bloomington has one of the highest (if not the highest) cost of living in the entire state. There is not a wealth of jobs, nor a large variety of jobs. For people who are not already affluent, you’re never going to thrive. You will just barely survive.

On paper, it does look good. Architecturally, cute downtown, etc. I find it a bit too conservative, compared to the eclectic, hodgepodge of Bloomington. However, that may appeal to some. Columbus is visually a place to see.❤

Bloomington, like other nearby places used to be much much hotter in the summer. Per National Weather Service: from 1920 -1949 Bloomington hit 100F or more 76 times. During the 64 summers beginning in 1960 Bloomington only hit 100F or more 23 times. Coal plants started going into service in the late 1940’s and after that summer became not nearly as hot. Please no. We’re full up. All outa room down here, and if you have a Bloomington mindset, I promise you, you will not like it here. Twenty miles makes a helluva difference.

I really enjoyed the video ! I was born in Bloomington but I haven't spent a whole lot of time there . I was just trying to think if I ever stayed the night there other than when I was born lol . I lived in Sullivan county for the biggest part of my life so we don't make our way over that way but maybe once a year or less . Thanks for sharing and have a great day !

A word of advice, include the prices. Most don't want to contact a Realtor unless they know the houses in the vedio are within their range. I don't have the time listening to pitches I can't aford.

CA real estate is severely overpriced for what you get. I lived in Irvine CA for year's. For a modular home, the pricing as discussed for the Midwest is a bit on the high side methinks.

Panning for gold in Brown County, Indiana is a fun, although not profitable, activity in the creeks west of Nashville. This gold is placer gold (in flakes) brought down from Canada by various glaciers. All of Northern Indiana is covered with soil containing placer gold, but only some areas in Indiana have streams with a bedrock bottom that gold cannot sink through so that panning of gold can be done with the dirt and gravel beside the streams. There is no vein gold in Indiana that could be mined profitably.

I grew up in Ellettsville. in 1980 we moved to the worst coast ( not a typo) and for various reasons, I am still trapped out here. I miss the community, and the feeling of "home" that Ellettsville had. I was back there about 15 years ago, and was kind of sad about how much it had grown in the interim. I know it was inevitable, but it still did not match my memories in a lot of ways. I would still love to be able to move back there though. Two questions I do have though is how far is it from a VA hospital, and how good are those facilities. as a disabled Vet, I spend way too much time in the VA hospital here. it is around 300 miles south of me in San Francisco. While it is a pretty good facility the distance is very difficult and it has the added disadvantage of being in California ;P
