If you like storms then go to the middle of the US in the summertime. I knew a guy who visited there and he said storms there are nothing like the ones in New England. Absolutely incredible lightning and wind and thunder. Me, I like cloudy days and the wintertime because it's cold. I don't like the humidity in the summer at all.
Sorry to here you've had a crappy day, i think feeling like that when you think of loss is pretty normal and i know from my own experience it can take a long time before it fully sinks in that they're not there anymore. i would for ages after my mum past, think to call her to ask or tell her something, i remember wondering if that would ever go away, which at some point it did, i don't when though really it just sort of did. its hard but with a little time it gets easier, and the longer time goes on the more you come to terms with it... But you shouldn't let that bring you down yet.. Though probs easier for me to say i know
yeah it's just knowing the time is coming but also after he passes i only have my mom left. and when she passes i'll be all alone. and that scares me most of all. my mom was never there for me only my dad kinda was and knowing that i will lose him soon it's just a fear i don't know how to describe. almost like how parents of addicts say that they are waiting for a call from the morgue and they wish they could stop worrying. it almost feels like that. an incoming pain i won't be able to stop. i am a very emotional person and it's gonna be bad for me i already know that.
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis i understand i really do, i coped with that by almost sort of blanking it out. It dont really help when it happens though, maybe even left me even less prepared. but discounting the distance you not totally on your own. an you do at least have someone to talk to... always here..
Bad days have to happen. Try again tomorrow and if that doesn't work, give it time (This I Must Endure). I don't want to take a chance on a cat. We had a cat Pookah. I miss him all the time. He was a clown and a lot of fun. Long hair tuxedo cat. Now the vet bills are so high in America I just don't want to take the risk. Not having an indoor pet sucks but we have a lot of outdoor birds, squirrels, and chipmunks. We had 2 greyhounds from the local race track. Sweet, affectionate animals. Miss them every day. Some of the most fun I've ever had.
that is very true, I'm wondering like what would an insurance be for a cat there. that might solve your problem. vet bills aren't cheap here either especially without an insurance. the love pet's give kind off makes me forget about the money they often cost. ❤️
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis Pookah used to poop under my bed. :) He mostly used to do his business outdoors though. I thought he was funny as hell. Health insurance is an idea. Back when we had the greyhounds they were $65/ea to get them spayed. Now it's over $1000. I can hardly believe it, $65.

When we were little back in grammar school we exchanged VDay cards. They came in a big bag and we all (most of us except the really poor kids who had jerks for parents) signed them and traded them with everyone in the class. I kinda miss those days and think this is a good practice for kids. We traded candy too. IIRC it was a girl-boy thing. So you'd give each girl one but of course some were more meaningful than others lol. The card trading and candy trading might have gone on for an hour. I don't recall how many grades we did this for, maybe 1 thru 6 and then we went to junior high and all the fun stopped actually. No Glee Club in 7th grade. No Valentine's Day. It sucks growing up, you know that? lol It starts out fun in kindergarten and as you get progressively older you are expected to grow progressively more grown up. IMO now I think it's really important to stay a kid as long as possible. All the way to the end if you can :)
I myself never really had a childhood due to the amount of bullying but also my mom wasn't like any other mom. i often wished i had been an orphan but while i was in elementary school we too did some candy trading that was kinda fun back then. fun fact the Netherlands has no glee clubs, at least not back then i don't know about now. but yes i wished for many that kids could be kids but the world we lived in today is getting pretty scary! ❤️
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis Bullied at school? Bullied by boys or girls? I remember being bullied by a girl in the 10th grade. Then she found out I was going with a cool friend of hers and suddenly I was cool too, but it was too late of course. She really wasn't very nice.
I'm still an AA member but I don't go much anymore. The custom is to shake a lot of hands and shmooze and shoot the breeze and catch up on how everybody is over a cup of coffee. If I have a regular routine of meetings I have diarrhea for a full week out of every month. People are so gross and dirty and so many people don't wash their hands and then they put their hands in the cookies. I was at the hospital over the weekend with my wife (she's fine), and a guy came out of the stall and just walked out without washing his hands. Then there's bacteria that gets spread around kitchens and contaminates food. The story goes that the Buddha ate some bad food and that's how he died. I love to get a burger when we take a long ride, but I always get paranoid at fast food restaurants. But anyway lol you can't be healthy every day. I'm glad to see you. I like to watch videos by cute ladies :)
yeah, here in the Netherlands there are some pretty high standards. back in high school my bff's bother was working in the Cantina and he always had a think gross layer of dirt under his nails. usually lost my appetite whenever i saw him. poor hygiene overall as well. i wish people would care more but when it comes to Chinese food it is always risky because you don't know how many times it's been heated already and stuff . I'm glad to hear your wife is fine! ❤️
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis I think some people are probably passive-aggressive too. Dirty hands allow them to be aggressive out in the world and nobody can catch them at it. The guy at the hosp. was at least in his 40's and bloody well knew better. There's no way you can get to be that old and not know enough.

it's not a onesie lol just a fleece sweater thingie. it's just really cold here and we leave the heating off most days so it get's really cold here. it's the only thing that keeps me from shivering. ❤️

Hey yeah the colour is slightly different but i am going to correct that by doing some manic panic in my conditioner at some point to get the right colour. it is pretty though. unfortunatly i feel worse than i did yesterday and i doubt i will be uploading today i have mostly been in bed and it's just gonna have to be a wait and see kinda thing. ❤

We got super sick from McDonald's a year ago and even complained to the company. Then I was at the grocery store and a worker was behind the glass wrapping meat wearing food service gloves and then she blows her nose and didn't change her gloves. Years ago we ate a lot of take out Chinese and gave it up because we got sick way too often. So anyway as they say, I feel your pain. I hope you feel better soon. Working in food service and spreading germs is wicked irresponsible. it's dry on the east coast too. The reservoir in my city is way low. hopefully we'll get some precipitation this winter but it's been drought conditions here for years so I dunno. We got bad air quality from fires in Canada a few years ago.
my gosh yeah i can't stand people like that. but it is what it is. Chinese takeout is always a risk i think. but oh well. but y i have seen that happen before where people wipe their nose on the gloves while doing the food service. the whole fire thing is terrifying me and i'm not sure what to say about it. i'm mostly just shocked that it got so out of hand. we had a period in 2023 where our water reservoir was low. lot's of trees and stuff were visibly struggling but it's all ok now. ❤
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis I hope you are feeling better by now but I know some of those viruses can hang in there for a long time. I had one for 6 months once. Seemed I'd never feel better. Long Covid isn't the only virus that can go on and on.

The North and Mid Wales coast would be my recommendation to visit Anglesey as well which is an Island just off North Wales it has 2 bridges to access it and has some great beaches and old Windmills, Your Dutch so i know you like Windmills lol Jokes a side, its great all along the coast there. lots of history as well
Nope don't like windmills at all. never seen one in real life either. we don't have em here in maastricht (that i know off) but yea i will look those place up and hopefully see those places one day! ❤️

Spent Saturday morning at the ER with my wife and her gallstone pain. Sat up midnight to 7 am and never did get in to see a doctor because they were so busy there were no beds. Which is weird because it's a great teaching hospital and it's never been trouble before. Where I live there are more hospitals and colleges/universities than anywhere else in the world. Anyway she's out of pain now but it sucked for a while but that's life. Then it snowed which made it hard to drive back up our hill. Spun the wheels the whole way but we made it but just barely. The Buddha said, "Life entails suffering." Today is good though. Now we're recovering because it takes a lot out of you when you get old and sit up all night. Also they let the homeless people wait out the night in the waiting room lol so it was never a dull moment. A fair amount of stress but it's over now. :) Also, day care places sometimes let people volunteer, so if you wanted to be around little kids they might be good places to hang out.
true, i just miss the joy and laughter kids would bring to the neighbor hood, i don't know it just feels very empty in comparison to 10-15 years ago. i am so sorry that you and your wife had to go through that! i can't imagine that kind of pain i just know it's extreme from what my dad told me. i am glad you got home safe and that she is doing better! ❤️

Alexis have you been to any art museums in the Netherlands? There's a lot of Dutch paintings that are famous and I wondered if you'd seen any of them?
@@engleharddinglefester4285 i have about 10+ years ago. they are great but i have never really been out of Maastricht/Limburg but yes the museums here are quite fun. maybe i'll go back at some point and record it while i'm there. other museums too probably. i would also love to go to concerts and record those but not sure how youtube deals with that haha.
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis I like any kind of travel video where the poster just films out the window of the train or bus or whatever, just to look around because I've never been very far out of where I live except for once 45 yrs ago I went to Chicago. Any kind of video with travel movement I like. Streetcars, buses etc.

Yep fried food, carbs are rough on the body. NPD mother, both of them alcoholics. Lots of stress as a young person. Stress is rough on your heart and I have arrhythmia which was improved surgically. So yeah it's real and your body will pay for emotional/mental stress. Good video, Sweetie.

I think if Pristine uploads to Amazon she automatically is copyrighted for free, which is a good deal because a copyright in the US is something like $200 I think. For all I know, she could upload and serialize her chapters, you could read them, and the exposure (and demand from listeners) would motivate her to finish the book. Hell, I have two books underway myself but suddenly lost the ambition to finish them. For all I know, there's lots of wannabe authors who just need a community and who knows, you might suddenly find yourself in the middle of a creative group spread out all over the world. You can quit at any time if you get overwhelmed, or just delay posting and answering emails too until your energy returns. You know, IOW maintain your boundaries and do as much or as little as you are comfortable with.
true, but she only sent me a sample. she is working on it but i have nothing to read of it for now. which is fine i mean i haven't uploaded anything yet from the Great Gatsby. but yea she asked me if when it's finished i would read it on my channel for her. it's true a community changes everything. maybe one day i will be able to formally introduce her if i can get her to collab in a video but for now this is what i have. but y she reads the comments but doesn't want to comment herself which is fine but yeah you are right!

@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis I was told back in the late 90's to never leave the batteries in electronics. I had a radio controlled car and the kids online said never leave the batteries in it because when they die this kills the electronic board, even if the device is shut off. Nobody knew why. My camera dates from 2001 and I never leave the batts in it and it still works. My wife's 10 year old camera is also still working fine.

oh i think i read those book a while ago and they are so good! i won't spoil anything but really big plot twist coming in book 2! anyways. i did see the copy right issues are a problem and that you will be reading us the great gatsby I am honestly so excited! can't wait to see those video's!

PPS...you are SO right about money and going slow but steady!!! We are in a similar situation - we spent all our retirement money on rescue animals, so I am hoping one day to get monetized to help continue our rescue work. Its going really slowly. @@PositivelyRadiantAlexis There are many public domain books on pdf too available for free download. I don't know how serious it would have been. People probably inadvertently post copyrighted work all the time and it just gets taken down. I think the AI would discover it immediately. I would guess they'd put a hold on your account and they wouldn't let you upload anything for a certain amount of time as a warning, but I'm just guessing. I think they'd be able to tell you don't have any criminal intent. It's pretty obvious it would have been an oversight on your part and not a criminal act for profit. :) This from Google: "Works published before 1928 are generally in the public domain in the United States. However, they may still be under copyright in other countries." I'd do just a quick google to check. In the US, copyrights generally last 95 years, but they might be longer in other countries. That might mean you can be watched in the US but not in the countries that still have the copyrights. Hmmm maybe ask google if a work has a worldwide public domain status. I don't really know anything about any of this but it does have me thinking and asking myself questions.

Be careful of offers partnerships or anything like that mostly these will be scammers. They don't only try to extort money, they also try to take over your social media in order to advertise their crypto scams.. in Emails be careful what links you click on as people have had channels hacked via them and they change your log in details, delete your content, and upload their own scam shit... Just beware.
yeah they don't give me links or stuff they just want me to pay them for editing and stuff but it's not something i need or am thinking about anywhere in the near future.❤️
@@PositivelyRadiantAlexis Just be careful, especially if they want you promote a product or that type of thing lots people have got issues from that. one channel has been hacked twice like that the second time YT deleted the channel and it was a nightmare for the guy to sort it, it was fixed in the end and he got the channel and content back. but it is something thats happening to quite a few channels, more bigger ones but i wouldn't put it past scammers to try any

May I suggest short stories? I've recorded books myself decades ago and a book can take, as you know, 8 hours to read at least, so that can make for a long series of recording sessions. I'd Google "Short stories in public domain." Edgar Allen Poe is in public domain. Holy cow you could add graphics too. For all I know, there are computer graphics artists who would love to work with you to collaborate on such a project. Where you both need experience, you might be able to do all kinds of socializing and project building. I think it sounds exciting! There's lots of old works that are still good. Work with a group of amateur voice actors and do Shakespeare?
interesting idea but not sure that's something i would go with. my idea was to record chapter by chapter not per entire book. so 1 video 1 chapter. that would make it more watchable in my opinion as well. but i will look into it and keep all options open! ❤️
