Are you using the Original 360 Sticks or newer ones? I have replaced many sticks on Xbox 360 Controllers and I have never had to recalibrate them. I just did one about a week ago. Works flawlessly with no drift.. same goes for Xbox One/Series Controllers.

You don't even have to move R5 to R6. You can just bridge R6 and not remove the capacitor at all. That's how I've always done swapping the region on JPN consoles, personal preference but feel it's faster.
