Razer Nomma Chroma 2 repair
A short video showing my experience of how my Razer Nomma Chroma speakers failed after only having them for five years. Let's take a look inside these speakers and see what makes, well, made them tick. This video shows the assessment of the capacitors and the re-assembly of the speaker that the amplifier board is housed in.
Initially, I wasn't going to make a video on this... However, since there's little to no information about the internal components of this speaker system I figured I would create something to share as a reference. Nothing too technical, just a quick tour.

[2/3] In this video we do some capacitor swapping! Due to my amateur camera skills, the smaller caps have been swapped already in this video, but I end up going through the process of replacing the two main filter caps. Part three of this video due up shortly! Also, I''ve been working on a Discord server for this channel the past couple of days setting it up, configuring bots, etc... So that to...

In this video I take a look at a Technics SA-5570 that was purchased by a client from a lady that had it locked up in storage for quite a few years. It has light usage and it was taken care of so it's going to be some light maintenance and, spoiler alert: a re-cap. Thanks to all of you that have sub'd and have been extremely patient waiting for new uploads! I'm planning on having a Discord serv...

In this video we take a look at this Sansui SR-2050C and why this turntable has issues with speed. This is a pretty easy fix if you have about thirty minutes and a little bit of oil to spare. Razer Blackwidow Elite Jog dial fix
Переглядів 14 тис.2 роки тому
In this video I repair the jog dial on a Razer Blackwidow Elite keyboard. This is a known issue with these keyboards and giving the jog dial a thorough cleaning with some contact cleaner should take care of the issue these things have with the lack of smooth operation.

Can we use acetone ?
Canned air in the scroll wheel censor fixed my scrolling not working properly. Thanks for the teardown vid
Hi, a pretty useful video! Can you tell me how the thin lead connects to the thick inner contact(tube), crimping, soldering or something else?
I just bought a pair for 10£ from a local carboot sale. It’s not turning on, i got a similar power adapter from a Dell laptop. The power source it’s working. I opened the right speaker, nothing broken at the first look. When i connected to my PC, they appear in the device manager like 2-3 seconds and after disappear. Tried to update the firmware with the official app, they got detected but after some tries ingot the “failed to connect bootloader” or something like that. Should i try to replace capacitors? It’s worth? I just like the design, i might use standard cables directly to the speakers and use them as satellites on my subwoofer. Kinda sad to lost all their RGB lights, volume controller, etc
Mine started to smell like smoke, but it didn’t smoke and now it won’t work
You can increase the amount of Kolophonium and Alokohol 1:1, so you get a bit more thiker flux to operate with. If you want to make it more like gel, you can mix some beeswax with the Kolophonium and then mix it with alkohol.
My victrola does work, but the built-in speakers dont work. Its weird because it worked a couple minutes ago
To much alcohol. It's came 50:50 to work very well
hello i have a question. on the left side of the keyboard im struggling to lift it up and pry it open even though i got every screw off, what do i do?
I don’t get it, but it got me interested. More vids on this subject please.
Really useful.. but I have to say.. that all I have done is use contact cleaner.. and spray with a small piece of plastic. NEVER needed to actually REMOVE the dial.. cheers..
Is this a permanent fix? Cause i sprayed with contact cleaner without disaaaembling the button and it came back after 2 months
doesn't have the same issue but realy helped with mine. ty
Is it safe to take this voltage measurement from the speaker with a voltmeter to get a rough estimate of the voltage sent to the speaker. I guess I would have a looper running on the input of the amp to generate sound. Adjust the volume until I hear clipping and make the calculations based on the voltage reading I get when I stop turning the volume up. Is that safe for the amp? Think it would give a rough estimate doing it this way? I am trying to get the RMS of the amp so I can swap out the speaker, no marking on the speaker to indicate anything but ohms, I know the speaker is 8 ohms.
If doesn’t urge on at all is better to buy new one
How do you wire wrap for thicker wires on this kind of 1mm posts? For example the AC in. This tool serves?
you can buy kilos of this stuff for the price of this small box
Merci pour ce très bon tuto !
I sprayed a little 99% iso in mine and it fixed up after drying
The hero we need 🫡
Now I gotta figure out to make my own flux paste and I'm set 😂
THIS IS THE VIDEO HE WAS REFERRING TO... ua-cam.com/video/9xk76e7nzcw/v-deo.htmlsi=JkKAfngF2j7KK6Wv
Better than Amtech😂
That 1.8 wats clipped your mic.
I have the same problem with a Crosley player the same yd3412 chip was blown. Dose anyone have a replacement?
I had one of those KA3500 in highschool. with the matching tuner.
Love the look of the old receivers... silver is sexy
What is IPA ??
Iso Propel Alcohol 🍸
For anyone following this, be careful putting the little silver screws back in. The white plastic on the back of the mute button is very fragile and completely shattered while screwing them in. Now the entire jog dial does not attach to the keyboard. That being being said - the fix works amazingly. Before my volume was suddenly jumping to 100% every few minutes and now I can actually use my keyboard without worrying about going deaf. My ears thank you soooo much
yep my razer products are giving me a lot of grief
this saved me, thank you 🙏
Alcohol Is it any alcohol like bear
bro all you gotta do it spin the wheel very fast and it will scrape the contact and fix it, I know I couldn't belive it also when someone told me but it works 100% of the time
That's not really a fix. It's a temporary solution because all you're doing is displacing the dirt that's not making it function properly so that when it gets dirty again it'll be twice as bad. 🤷🏻♂️ You do you. I'll do it the right way.
This has been irking me majorly on my keyboard for a while now. I dont like taking things apart but this is a great video, might try to tackle it next time i clean the keyboard! Thank you for the video.
how to clean the switch if theres carbon buildup
Hi, just want to say thanks for the video! it's really helpful.. Your method is really simple, I like it! I've been holding myself for trying this measurement because most video that i saw involves several devices like ampere meter, multimeter, oscilloscope, signal generator etc.. I never had oscilloscope in my life and as for now I can't afford OWON HDS272 like yours, can you advice budget friendly multi-function oscilloscope that able to do this measurement? what specification should I look? do you think something like ZOYI ZT-703S is sufficient? thanks!
Great video, yes I've followed Sorin for a long long long time, he is a pioneer....absolute pro. Thank you for this video, Sorin is an amazing teacher! Liked and Subbed!
it works, good video
Are you using rosin core solder in this experiment? I mixed up a batch and found no difference in the wetting and coverage with or without using the flux. Maybe enough flux in the solder core for good results. I would be interested seeing results with using non rosin core solder. Thanks for posting
Le instale el programa a mi cámara que puse en el microscopio trinoculuar pero solo me da resolución de 1920x1800 pixeles y es lo máximo! Cómo puedo arreglar esto?
Do you know Where i Can get a new scroll wheel
I used to have the Naga Classic, and it failed on the click. It seems that the Naga trinity have the same problem. I never touch any razer product after the Naga.
You're a legend, thank you. I took the job wheel apart and sprayed it once, put the whole thing back together, and it still didn't work. I re-watched the vid and realized you had absolutely drenched the thing, so I was more liberal with the contact cleaner the second time and huzzah, it works! Huge help, thank you so much!
You're welcome! Glad my video helped you out. Thanks for watching!
Do know how many pins does the ribbon cable have? bought it used but shipping broke off the base and bent one of the ribbon cables, I got it working again but with some noticeable white noise and that's the only assumption I have of the cause.
I see a pun but I won’t call it haha
Found one at Salvation Army for $24.99, they let it go for $18 because they lost the power supply. I got excited a little too fast, thought this thing was real vintage, LOL!!! Found a power supply for 10 bucks on Amazon. Unfortunately it did not turn on. Opened it up and saw that a few of these small cylinders (don't know what's called, are dancing around in the case. I'm not going to do soldering. Returning to the store, hopefully will get my $18 back. Boohoo...
Is it ok to use less alcohol and make it thicker? Can it be used to weet circuit legs so they melt when using heatgun? Also for soldering circuit legs using heat guns like you do with paste flux?
Excellent questions! I haven't tried it any other way other than what's shown in the video. Never hurts to experiment!
Hello. I wonder if u can help me with my mouse. It doesn't charge
How long does it keep for in a sealed container? Another question, do you know what the best flux for tip longevity is?
As long as it's capped when not in use I would imagine it would last for quite a long time. Personally I used Chipquik and I've never replaced a tip in five years and all my tips are still going strong.
Mine stopped working the other day, found the belt had stretched out. But your video helped me with the spindle. Probably never removed since the factory. It was a fight to get it separated! But now it's clean and lubed, the platter spins super nice. Just waiting for the new belt.
Once the new belt arrives you'll be good to go! Glad I could help out! Thanks for watching.
