Nossa! This is interesting n kinda ironic; that I JUST saw another YTer's video on this exact same spot, & he said they were giving him a very hard time trying to film. It was such a pain in the ass, that he just gave up & wasn't able to get anything inside. I forget what he said they exact reason was, I saw it a couple weeks ago, but needless to say, he was massively disappointed. Interesting that here u are with all the footage in the world here.

It’s really cool that you found a 4th of July celebration in Bahia, because the independence of Brazil is also celebrated on the 2nd of July, two days before. If you tale a look at the colorful hanging pennants during São João you will also notice that in most places they will have the order 🟩🟨🟦🟥, which represent the colors of the flag of Brazil and Bahia lined up. However the real independence date is only celebrated in Bahia, which means other states are not aware of the date of real independence of their own country.

The holiday is on the 24th, but then we also have the independence day which is July 2nd. We start the celebrations of independence on June 25th as soon as São João ends.

Both forms, secretaria and secretária, are correct and that was probably an intentional pitfall. The accent changes the meaning and the pronunciation. With the accent, the word indicates a person, without accent it's an organization, a lot of times used for government agencies. For instance, a woman can be a Secretária da Cultura (with the accent), which means she heads the Secretaria da Cultura (without the accent and stressing the last syllable secreta<RIA>).
