This scam is not new. I had this scam over two years ago when selling something on FB marketplace. There are other variations of this scam to watch out for as well related to Zelle. Zelle will never generate emails from any third party asking you to set up a Zelle business account either. I’m glad you caught on and didn’t get hooked. Anytime they advise that more money was sent than required and ask you to send the excess back, you need to drop the transaction and block them. Who would legitimately overpay and ask for money back?!

I love Holbein acrylic. I am lucky that were I am my local art store has great pricing on the stuff. A few times I have heard people in the store saying Holbein is a bit less expensive then X or Y but its almost as good. More then once. The first time I had to correct lol, the second time I bit my tongue I was on in a Rush and didn't want to spend 20 min talking about paint. haha PR179, PR122, PBK31 are stand out Holbein colors that are hard to find in other brands. I also love their Manganese blue nova which is a PB15 pigment that well replicates the look of Manganese blue. I mix Holbein with Golden Heavy Body and some High flow (High flow is a great way to water down the paint for a wash without loosing pigmentation). I also have a handful of M. Graham Acrylics I really like... the MGs I have I bought as they were unique pigments. They sell a PY129 Azo Green which is great and unique. They also have really nice Transparent Red and Yellow oxides, which I love in MG watercolor and work great in acrylic as well.
Mr. Duchev, I would like to take a moment to thank you for sharing this video. I recently started exploring paintings in new ways, and I found all your channels to be very informative and helpful for my artistic journey. I appreciate your time and guidance via your videos..
Lol useless video, just common sense
Great information, painting for a while but this explains so much clearly for my future attention.
Oh dear, just because one artist says acrylic paint can be dumped into a water supply doesn't mean it is safe for the life in that water. Ingesting acrylic paint is definitely toxic and dumping it into a living body of water is harmful. All of it is a form of plastic! It is not ok to put it in a river or creek or lake or any water supply. Oil paint can be used with no toxic solvents and or no toxic heavy metals, and oil paint on brushes can be cleaned with a fat-based soap and warm water. Note: Synthetic brushes hold up well to washing with the oil cleaning soap but real bristle brushes will splay with soap and water washing. All tap water has toxins in it. Because we are putting toxins in our sinks when we clean stuff. Always have a good water filtration system if you are using tap water for food prep or drinking.
Now they make it so you can’t even see the profile.
I would love to see your techniques. I love acrylics. I have tried many different mediums. It is so nice seeing so many great artists using acrylics. Thank you for your videos.
I want to get started in acrylics. I have the Golden heavy body but willing to try your recommendations. I also bought the slow-dry medium. I’m curious your thoughts on using mediums versus water. Looking forward to your next video. This one has been very helpful.
Great video! Loved hearing your thoughts on these brands. I look forward to hearing more on acrylic technique. I’ve worked very little with acrylics as the brand provided during the classes I am taking is not very pleasant to use. It has put me off of acrylics but I am excited to hear about your acrylic experiences. As with watercolors, it seems that brand and quality of acrylics matter and I’ve just not had the right experience yet.
I wonder if the tube itself, heated and expanded, cracking the cap? Also softening of cap combined? I have an acrylic painting i did in 1980. Still looks new. Colors are great, no cracks, has been cleaned more then once. I dont understand in today's art world how acrylics are less then oils..they may be better over a long time?
Greate video! Thank you sharing your knowledge and experience. I would love to see a video about your techniques and also your favorite colors in acrylics.
I would love to see a tutorial on painting a picture for the absolute beginner and what colors to start with. I enjoyed this video so much but I usually dabble in watercolor. I am a beginner.
Good video, you have a pleasant way of explaining things and with a good amount of information without it being too much. I listened alongside while I practised drawing. 🙂 I also think that everyone finds out what works well for them and not everyone has to like the same things. Let's see which brands I like best after trying things out for a while. I suspect that I might like Talens Amsterdam Expert and Daler Rowney Cryla, because I really liked the student grade paints, even though I only have a few of them because I used them to complement others I didn’t like in the end. What often bothers me is that the paints often don't say what surface they dry with. I've had some that had hardly any shine and others had much more. I haven't really got around to painting with acrylics in the last few years, when I did paint it was mostly watercolour and oil. Artist acrylic paints are often out of my budget, so lately I've been using various ways to expand my palette with good, affordable paints, some years ago. I actually prefer to buy large tubes to benefit from the cheaper ones per ml, but that's hardly possible when a 200ml tube costs around and up 30€, so my budget is quickly used up to switch to artist grade. I then try to get small tubes that have a 100ml price like the big ones through obscure means, like buying remaining stocks on eBay like 12 very Old Finity tubes of Winsor and Newton, mostly series 3 and 4. A tube of Cryla Deep violet on Amazon for around 5€ out of sheer luck. An art supplies store near me once had Lukas Cryl Pastos 37ml tubes half priced because they were hardly bought. I only bought 7 tubes, the offer was OK but nothing earth-shattering. The store closed a few years ago. I mainly have AV Artist Acrylic Paint because another large art supply store had thrown them out of their range with 30% off, mostly bought 500ml pots and 200ml tubes. Missing a few colours because they were sold out, or I already had them from another brand and my budget couldn't afford them. I was then lucky enough to find an art supply store that had them in their range, although not quite as cheap as the ones I bought, but close. Series one, 500ml for 15€, is hard to beat. A set 4x 75ml Amsterdam Expert from the same store 20% off sometimes later and a 6x 60ml Set Golden Heavy body for 34€ from England, last year. So supplies can be provided 😀.
The Masterclass ‘Viridian’ is not a Viridian pigment, this is a Sap Green. I think you’ve grabbed the wrong tube.
Yes I would like to see your information on technique! Thank you
Mostly used Liquetex. They are most available at our art store. They are a little stiff for my style, but I really like their pigmentation and reliability--never had a bad tube. I add a squirt of slow drying retarder medium to each blob on the palette and that seems to help. From this list.Have only tried Windsor Newton (totally awesome) and Utrecht.
Thanks for this useful coverage of acrylic brands. You don't mention rubbing alcohol as an excellent solvent -which can be very useful. Also when you did the speed drying test --using different colors was not so useful because different colors can dry at diffrent speeds. Also, I get the impressions you like to paint very thickly, so that, too is important to note. Maybe the black color of the lids on the Golden Open contributes to their cracking (black absorbs heat more than white?)?? Overall, this was a really useful discussion of the differences of the paints because, i, too, seem to be gradually shifting from oils to acrylics. Thanks!!
Van Gogh said, "First I dream it and then I paint it".
I think this demo actually proves the opposite of what his argument is, particularly for people who are learning. The most important aspect for learning how to mix paint is color consistency. Sticking with one brand, one grade of paint makes it easier. Jumping from one brand to another is just going to make learning color mixing more difficult, more complex and confusing. After you have become accustomed with one brand of color mixing then you can slowly venture out into other brands.
Did you apply your colors and shapes abstractly and then wipe them all over the canvas and then almost off to start this? I guess that is a special custom tone color then. You let it dry for a couple of days, then start?
Thank you for the video! Do you have an opinion on the “regular” heavy body Golden acrylics? I heard that their opacity is better than the Open acrylics. I wonder if the heavy body tubes still have the same cap problem…
Great video! A lot of details but easy to digest :)
Great video! A lot of details but easy to digest :)
Golden Open fan here. I have only used in studio but like the slower drying time - I paint wet on wet and also use layers of transparent color. Open allows me to do these in a very similar manner to the way I paint with oils. I use Golden matte acrylic when I want flat color.
Great video! Thank you very much for sharing your experience in acrylic paint. And I am looking forward to watch more videos about this subject, specially about different technics you can use by painting with acrylics.

Vlad, have you ever tried Lukas Pastos or Rowney Cryla? Those along with Utrecht and Rembrandt are my favorites. I have a few Holbein colors as well. All great quality. Enjoyed the video and look forward to more.
Yes, I tried both. I liked Lukas a lot, but water management is very critical and very special with Lucas.
@@openstudiod yes, it dries very fast. I've been using Pastos and their Cryl Studio (medium body) for a long time, so I'm accustomed to the drying time. I like the thickness of Pastos and Cryla. Thanks for the reply.
GREAT!!!
My personal favorite is Golden Artist Acrylics followed by M. Graham Artist Acrylics.
I got both sizes, thanks for pointing out that it moves some so I tried using two bits of kneaded eraser to stick to my palette. Haven't tried it outdoors yet but hopefully it will work!
I've been having nightmares with windsor and newton, the pigmentation is so low the coverage sucks. To paint with windsor and newton you need to put a titanium white layer under any colour you use. Bad. I recommend Holbien paints in any medium. The coverage of Holbien is so pure.
@@onetwo-in4mh with Windsor and newton you need to manage the amounts of water you adding. It should be a minimum.
@ Yeah there is workarounds for it, you can make it work with some tricks. With holbien you dont need tricks, its got solid coverage first time.
Hey Guys! About a month ago I was doing an acrylic demo and I got many questions about the brands I use in my artist tool-box. So, I decided to shoot a video about why I use the brands I use and what are the best ... in my opinion... the best acrylic paint brands and why. the amount of artists using acrylic in plein air is growing dramatically... so, here we go... Please let me know if you have any questions!
You might want to try try regular Golden. It is heavy body and quite thick.

Hello, I noticed your title and was curious about what you had to say regarding the danger of gels. I have been using gels in my paintings for years. Initially, I experimented with homemade mixtures of Cabosil fumed silica in either alkyd or linseed oil as a medium. For convenience, I’ve used Galkyd Gel, and more recently I’ve experimented with Gamblin’s solvent-free gel, using it sparingly, with colors negatively affected by yellowing. I have only experienced cracks like the ones you showed on a single occasion. It happened when I layered a faster-drying color over a thick layer of slow-drying paint that had not fully cured. I lacked patience and worked too fast. Contrary to my assumption, the gel in the impasto’s base layer didn’t set quickly enough. This broke the fat-over-lean rule. Aside from that single incident, I’ve only encountered issues with gels when I’ve overused fumed silica in my custom blends. Doing so can cause gels to crack if the mix contains too much solvent and insufficient binder. I find, if used properly, the gels work well for adding additional transparency. I have to agree with another commenter, the cracks in your painting actually look pretty cool. I would either accentuate them with a wash, or mix up a white filler paint and apply it with nitril gloves, wiping off the excess to make them less visible. Just a thought. The gels added transparency is also a potential problem since it accentuates binder yellowing with age. If you build that into your expectation of how the painting will look over time, it isn’t usually a problem.
I don't understand the white pallet?
