I am impressed with the quality and fitment of these Carlimeki seat covers! I think that they made a great product, and these seat covers are a great upgrade for your truck, especially if you have cloth seats or are looking to protect your factory leather. Personally, I am going to use the rear seat covers to protect my leather in the back from car seat indentations and dog scratches.

    This truck has been in the market for 3 years, and I still dislike how it looks. My 8 and 11 years old daughters laugh at this truck whenever they see one, and we see plenty of those where we live. If my children dislike this truck, and they usually like most of the new cars, that is a good telling to me that it is ugly. To me this truck looks more like a toy built from a Lego box. I dislike the fender bulges, the black A pillar; the rear tailgate and the silly rear bumper, not to mention the hideous front grill; and from the side profile it looks more like a GM truck, but just too ugly. The only issue I have with the interior is the poor plastic quality, and I hope they address that. While I do not doubt Toyota will fix the issue with the 3.4L engine (as long as they go back to the drawing board and figure out what really causes the bearing meltdowns), my biggest issue with the new 3.4L V6 is that it is not DIY friendly. Down the road, it will cost an arm and a leg to work on that engine, whether for some small fixes or some maintenance items you should be prepared to spend thousands of more (so if you are smart, once you get bored with this truck, sell it and buy something else). The third issue I have with the new Tundra is the large turning circle, which is hideous and makes this thing a chore to park in tide places or turn around in tide places. While the look of the truck is subjective (too me is too ugly, but for some it is okay or even appealing), and some people may prefer the riding dynamics of the new Tundra and do not intend to keep it forever, I cannot live with a truck that is so difficult to maneuver. The pricing also sucks, although now is probably a good time to buy one if you can get a good deal on a 2024 model (20% off MSRP should be achievable) and 4 or 5 years later sell it to someone that does not expect that this is no longer the Toyota we used to know, love and respect. It is a more like a disposable appliance if I have not be clear so far. Finally, let me assure you, I am not a Toyota hater or a turbo hater. I like the new Tacoma a lot, but the Tundra seems that it was designed by the engineers that had too much alcohol while working from home during the COVID19 pandemic and that is why I call it a pajama Tundra. Sorry, but that is what I think about it. The only two 1/2 ton trucks that I would buy right now are the 2nd gen Tundra or the 2024 Ram 1500 with the 5.7L engine. I do not care about the F150 or the GM twins or the 2025 Ram. But my last choice is the new Tundra. I rather buy the 2024 Titan than this thing.

    • @TRDadLife
      @TRDadLife Місяць тому

      To each their own! Keep in mind that the vast majority of the new gen Tundra owners have had no issues with their trucks and are having great experiences! Unfortunately the noise of the bad tends to be louder than that of the good; hopefully I’m able to make a different there and provide another perspective!

      @@TRDadLifeI am not disappointed in the new Tundra despite some issues. It is a brand-new truck with everything changed from the previous model. I have owned three first-year models from Honda, Toyota, and Chevy, and all of them had issues. The new Tundra is very competitive with trucks from the Big 3; the second generation was not because it was outdated. However, the new Tundra may not be as reliable as older Toyota vehicles. It likely won't have the same low cost of ownership and will be very expensive to maintain and repair. For example, replacing a short block in the third-generation Tundra costs over $30,000. The same repair for the second generation Tundra is perhaps not even a third of that price. Would you be willing to pay $30,000 for such a repair in 7 or 10 years? What about replacing the turbos? They are very likely to fail after 150,000 miles. The worst part is that most simple repairs must be done at the dealership. You can't do them on your own because few people have lifts at home to separate the cab from the frame. I like the second generation not because it is the best truck out there, but because it is the cheapest to maintain and repair. It is very reliable and simple, though it lags behind the competition in terms of features and fuel economy.

    I have a 24 platinum and I love it. However, it took me 2 years to like the body. I just felt it looked too much like a Chevy and I could not get past that. Now I have and I love the look. Can't lie, very nervous about quality issues but so far, it has been perfect and I love to drive it.

      I always liked the 2016-2018 Chevy body style, so maybe that’s part of the reason I love these gen 3 Tundras! Good to hear you’ve had no issues as well. Let’s keep our eye on the ball, every redesign encounters issues, and Toyota will handle theirs. Congrats on the 24 Platinum!

    I owned a 2014 1794. I lifted the truck and had 35 in tires. I got 14 mpg. Now I have a 2024 1794 limited edition hybrid stock and get 15mpg. I’m at about 1500 miles. I couldn’t accelerate any slower, so don’t know about that. Also, I hear some sort of rattle from the back seat area. I’d have to have someone sit back there while I drive to figure it out. Let us know what you find out about the rattle. Thanks!

      I think based on talking to some others about the rattle that it’s the rear window. Mine is only noticeable when it’s rolled down; is yours noticeable at other times too?

      @@TRDadLife i only notice mine when the back window is up, driving at slower speeds over bumpy roads. I’ll see if I can pick it up on a recording. Also, I have been in sport mode for a bit and didn’t realize it, so I hope I’lo get better mpg in eco.

      Than the last one? I averaged about 12mpg and my '09, and I'm getting about 17 on my '24 non hybrid so far. My '19 F150 with the 5.0 did average around 20, so you can get better milage than this with a V8, but not from Toyota.

    Your '24 hasn't been recalled yet because the 25s aren't out yet. If Toyota admitted the 24s were bad they would have to stop selling everything on lots and in the production stream. They won't admit the hybrids are seizing because they don't want every 22 and 23 recalled. Once they recall the 24 this winter we will see the BS they have been spreading.

    If you’re building a new channel, I would suggest not recommending a product that is suffering from some major issues to others. Do you want to be the guy that talked someone into buying a Tundra and that person then has the engine or diff blow.

      Lol, if someone’s only reason for buying a truck is because someone on UA-cam likes theirs, they probably shouldn’t be buying a truck in the first place 😂 Everyone needs to do their own research, form their own opinion, and make an educated decision - my channel can be just one avenue of data.
