Just some thoughts for getting out of your own way when performing. Take a minute, listen to what's going on. It's not necessary to fill up all of the space all the time. If you're playing something that is written or composed, use the space to breath a bit or look ahead in the music. Questions? What do you think of this vid? Solo Moog Grandmother and iOS // Live @ Neptune Room, Washington D.C., 7/14/24
Переглядів 31616 днів тому
First a demo of my setup and then a live recording from the Neptune Room in Washington D.C. on July 14th. I really wanted a challenge so I decided to go with two instruments I haven't used in a solo live setting yet, the Moog Grandmother and a small array of iOS apps to try to give the Grandmother some support. I wanted to put some iOS apps to task to see how they feel when I'm using them in a ...

Spitfire Audio String Quintet Flautando on Nord Electro 6
Переглядів 298Місяць тому
I do like a good string patch. This is from the new Spitfire Audio String Quintet Library collaboration with Nord Keyboards. Personally I’d like to see more of this. Beautiful patches that you can load directly onto your keyboard instead of running through a computer. This was all played in one go. No overdubs or external effects. Everything right in my Electro 6. If you’re a Nord owner. It’s F...

Is Moog Designing a MIDI Controller?
Переглядів 325Місяць тому
My second "speculation" video. I mean, it's Moog, so I'm gonna speculate. So what do you think? Do you think there will be a native Moog MIDI controller in the future? Would you be into it? Questions? What do you think of this vid? Leave a comment and/or Like. “Illusion” Synth Solo on Moog App

i remember using this plug-in starting around 2010, when i would've been 15. it blew me away with the complexity, richness and "realness" of its sound, so much so that i still occasionally run the original version through a 32-bit adapter on an older Intel Mac. it is, absolutely, my favourite plug-in bar none and i can't get enough of it's sound, and i can't believe i might be able to run it again, natively, without crashes... holy moly. wow.
goddamn it i can't believe it. i still have sketches made over 2010-2022 where there is some instance of TimewARP doing the coolest sound in the track and to open that i have to grab my old laptop (i'm not even sure the project files survived my transition from Windows to Mac in 2018), and it always just barely worked. i am so excited
Wow. That's incredible!
Oh wow, and Korg just released the 2600 VST as well. Will be interesting to compare them. The Korg version sounds awesome, but this also looks really good.
Whoa, I'll have to take a look. I'd love to try out the Korg 2600m
Just got one today, heavily discounted, only two left here (Israel). Looking forward to get it to use.
Whats this?
There's a few things going on here: AUM (the mixer looking thing) is hosting Patterning (drum machine, looks like a circle). Animoog and Moog Mariana also in the mix..
Confirmed my thoughts! I'm looking between buying the 2020 version with all the physical dials and the 2024 one that's all digital interface. I like being able to adjust the dials and not have to tap tap tap into a screen. Sounds like this version still takes the cake!
@@cara.leo_ I love it. I was literally thinking about buying another one the other day, for insurance. Ha!
Riley school good job, thanks for sharing, i subscribe to your channel 🐕
USB c hub with audio out I presume? Is it dc coupled? Nice ideas
Yes. USB C hub with audio out. It lets me connect MIDI and keep everything powered. Actually I'm not entirely sure if it's DC coupled or not.
This is so cool! Love how well the realtime musical reactions convey emotions in a way only music can. It really Captures the beautiful strangeness of space.
Much appreciated!
The part at 16:10 goes hard!
Thanks for checking it out!
How did you switch synths on the Ipad without touching it?
@@blkrbbt it’s a video edit. Swapped in the Animoog real quick.
@@GabeChurray look at you getting all crafty
brilliant
Good beginners sounds.
Hey Gabe, any idea if this is possible on the Grandmother?
I don’t think so unfortunately.
I do all our recordings on the H6 and its awesome. ua-cam.com/video/qFvs58UqB1w/v-deo.htmlsi=x85y_Q6bEGzIoqDa
Absolutely beautiful
Much appreciated. Thank you!
That so calming and good for the mind ❤
This is very cool. How did you connect the iPad and Matriarch together?
They are connected with a USB MIDI cable. I have an Anker dock for the iPad which lets me keep it powered and also get audio out from it as well.
It's not what I expected by the Mike Dean introducting but... I like it anyway.
What level did you have the input set to?
I don’t remember.
Nice
Thanks a lot for the very informative video! Learned a lot!
Which moog is this? A grandmother? I'd never seen this design before 😮
I’m playing a Matriarch but it’s next to a Grandmother. There’s also a TE Op-1 sitting up there too
okay but thats not a matriarch?
True. She’s occupied at the moment. Will return in glorious fashion soon!
Nice
Thanks
bcr2000 mk3
That’s a great idea, brother I love it. I also thought it would be cool if they came out with a mini controller that actually looked like a sub 37 or a model D and it had the same idea the parameters change depending on what software you’re using, but you also have an amazing looking mini controller, great idea and great video
Sounds like a pitch to Moog 😂
Ha! Just thinking out loud in the park
Awful idea!
Noted 📝
Does this only work in split VCA mode running stereo output?
I think it should work on any VCA setting. Drone mode might be tough to tame but I think it’ll work.
Great vid. Excellent recorder. I have it and it is priceless ✌🏾
Thanks. Yeah, I'm a fan!
It's never occurred to me before to use a synth's arp as an embellishment effect the way you do in the first half of this -- super cool Idea! 😎
Nice! I love doing that. I used to do it with my Juno 60 all the time and it translates well to the Moogs
I get the spy walking fast because his cover been blown type feeling, I like it

It’s my favorite. Nothing like it.

Had to look that one up…but yes. 🙂
We love our Matriarch. It is an incredibly powerful analog studio synth for sound design. Please have a look and listen: ua-cam.com/video/Bkrx_958zT8/v-deo.htmlsi=rR2FRlrKd7IUqF_Y

Hard 🔥
Love it. What synth/app is this and what interface are you using here?
Hey Harry, the app is Korg Module Pro and I'm using an Anker USB C 6 in 1 hub to connect the Novation Launchkey Mini to the iPad. The sound is coming out of that Bose speaker to the right. Everything's recorded with the iPhone built in mic.
👍👍👍👍🤩🤩✨✨
@@GabeChurray thanks!
Loved this vid, and loooved those chord voicings on the Rhodes
Man I have the exact same settings and the resonant pluck won't sound the same. Even the snare... The release way too shorter at the settings shown in the patch book. Any idea what's going on?
Hey. If I remember…..if you hold the key the release is very short but if you just tap the key it will give you the longer release. Hope that helps.
Eee-sential!! 💎💎💎
