I expected us to walk out and let La liga hand the 3 points to us as penance to stupid Atletico and their sore losing coach who behaves like the puppet of a drug cartel...You can see Simeone is nothing but a thug who fortunately coaches a club run by narcotics and traffiking cartels. I was telling my friend during the temporary suspension that this is not a game we want to sit back and risk a draw, the game was finally open and we had the opportunity to go at them but we did the complete opposite. Ancelotti overthought the match and chose to give possession to the opponent in order to defend, rather than holding onto the ball. This ended up gifting them the equalizer. It’s rare to see Real Madrid succeed with an ultra defensive approach. Our players simply don’t have the mindset, let alone the tactics, needed for that style of play. In any case, it’s a lesson for the coach. The team is improving, and overall, it’s a great learning experience. Great video and analysis, keep it up! Hala Madrid!

I think Don Carlo didn't come for this match to win, I think what he had in his mind was just not to lose, cos if it was Barcelona, Man City, or any other top team we played last night, he wouldn't defend like that, cos A.Madrid are the team he has lost to most, you have 2 right backs, 2 left backs playing 6-3-1 to me that was how the structure looks like to me... Don please try not to make this same mistake again this season... this shows we can win matches even with the injuries we have cos it's not an excuse other teams or Clubs have players injured too, but your Sub matters... or the way you manage your players.

even though I like Arda, I understand why Ancelotti don't rely on him, he didn't play well when he had the opportunity, the team lose too much defensive power when he's playing A good example is the match we played vs Espanyol, after the first goal Ancelotti subbed him immediately, he was clearly pissed off at Arda

Arda should get as far away as possible from Ancelotti and his flat, boring, stale style of play. I doubt team selection is done by merit, Ancelotti keeps on blowing off a lot of hot air about rotation and using the best of everyone in the team, but for fear of losing, he ends up playing a bland style of football with the same 14-15 players, from a $1 billion dollar squad...

Somehow I just KNEW Atleti was going to score. We cannot just sit back and absorb pressure with a 1 goal lead. This game felt like a loss. It won’t be often when Barca drops points. We fumbled the bag man.

I've been saying this and I mean no disrespect since he has done so much for our club, but Ancelotti is as oblivious as it gets. We CANNOT keep on relying on the power of friendship and hopes and prayers to win us games. The team needs tactical and structural stability. I don't blame Endrick for shooting the ball. I doubt he was even given instructions to do anything other than to press and carry the ball up the field. The point of tactics are to fallen back on when players are uncomfortable or in unfamiliar situations. Our attack looked DEAD. There wasn't a single moment where I thought that we played a good attacking move. People study for exams so they aren't lost and relying on instincts when situations of uncertainty arise. Why aren't we doing the same? Ancelotti is going to give us another season of winning absolutely nothing other than an off trophy like 22/23 if nothing is done. I am sick of watching this team struggle conjure anything meaningful when we have the talent to play beautiful futty. Athletic, Arsenal, Monaco, and Juve manage to do it with all around worse players than ours. It's the manager's fault.

Carlo is completely missusing the squad (which is already really imbalanced, 3 left wingers as the main attackers, no ballplaying CB, DM who can defend and nothing else). having rodrygo and vini on the same wing is just nonsense. and mendy joining the attack does not help in any way. There a some simple rules and balances in football that no superstar level squad can just ignore and succeed. Carlo not making subs is just adding to the fire (Arda proving himself and not getting rewarded and modric playing the full match with a yellow). I just dont see any actual tactical improvement by the coaching side. Our game is just better because jude can fuse the gap between attackers and defenders now. but other than that, i see no actual impact by coaching decisions. I really want mendy to just stay back and not clutter the left wing, so that our talented players can actually get a one on one at some point. play to the players strength and accept that our current squad has its flaws. bring in Arda or endrick earlier, let them adjust to the game and let them have an impact. Arda can also help carvajal on the right instead of having valverde (who is so imporant on defense) wasted marking someone on the sideline. our team produced a single goal for 65 mins, what are we waiting for? just make the changes. if atletico gained momentum minute 85, we lose that game btw. we had 2 RBs and two LBs in the end... atrocious

My issue has always been that we take the foot off the pedal once we score. The only thing I envy about Barcelona is that they’ll finish the game out against Atleti and most teams. I also don’t understand the reasoning behind taking our star forward off and not changing the style of play. We still had a high line when the subs came on wtf Side Note: I know this is personal and no one gives af but they also cost me my parlay.

Ancelotti trying to be conservative.. maybe he tought Fran would be more industrious than someone like guler, I get that, but at that point, you're playing players out of position.. The endrick sub made sense , but the fran one, I didn't quite agree with. On another note, I'm not sure tchouameni has the quality to be a starter for real madrid. I just don't see what he excels at... he's not a great CDM, not a great passer, not great with positioning or driving the ball forward. Sorry to say it, but that's what I notice. Also, Ancelotti needs to stop playing the same exact team week in, week out. Give fede , vini, mbappe a rest once in a while. They don't need to play against Lille. Let's avoid these stupid muscular injuries. Disappointed with the result. We had it in the bag. Also, the atleti supporters can't do that, stop the game when they want. As you said. Also I noticed Jude was not passed to by I believe Vini when he was shouting for it with hands raised and in a better position to shoot. This happened last match I believe too. I wasn’t surprised by the substitutions actually. Angelotti usually makes substitutions around minutes 70-80 and they tend to be more defense oriented if there’s a lead. I agree the comments about the momentum loss after the pause. Don’t get me wrong I was waiting on Arda as much as I was watching the match but I don’t think the reason was merely the substitutions. According to me, there were two matches last night, one before the pause and one after it and we lost the second match. I love how Valverde is playing, he’s definitely something else. Vini was also great. Dani, Jude as always. Eventhough they had a good game, I don’t like Militao and Endrick that much. I wanted to let this out after a good match so it doesn’t sound like a lack of game performance. They don’t seem to fit in with the teams culture according to me. I don’t like their attitude with foul calls and their passing visions. Anyway, who am I to judge. Maybe that’s just me. Looking forward for the days that Arda becomes an undeniable first 11 alongside Jude. It will be awesome when those two start clicking.

Atleti was so poor. Those were 2 points lost . We were more vulnerable and susceptible to concede after going ahead . With Simone switching to 3-5-2 , carlo should have been pro active with his substitute. Coming to subs -I have no idea why Vini was taken off , he was not on a yellow. He could have been our outlet on counters. -One of Vini or Rodrygo should have been on the pitch -not brining Cama on the pitch was understandable but why Guler was not even brought on ? By the end of the match we had -2 RBs Carva and Lucas -2 LBs Mendy and Fran This rather than creating more stability caused chaos as it was clear no one was clear of their positioning. Tchoumeni was poor, he is extremely press sensitive. Unfortunately we can't bench him , I hope when Cama comes , he shares this burden with Tchouameni

I noticed the team is getting better at cycling the ball around and oxygenating areas of the pitch but their seems to be a disconnect between intentions in the midfield. Based on the my observations Jude is trying to take risks and receive the ball in dangerous but risky spaces but Tchoua and Fede are apprehensive to Jude's ideas. Then Jude makes very good runs but it goes unnoticed. We need leadership. Somebody to take the ball from Fede and Tchoua while giving them confidence who can also entertain Jude's ideas but with accruacy. The more I type the more I believe Güler needs to start in this midfield. He isnt Kroos but he offers so much if he is confident and in sync.

I'm tired of this laziness by our players in the last minutes, Atletico played terribly much worse than they did last season which I didn't expect. We should have won this game 2-0 or 3-0 but Ancelotti played low block after we went 1-0 up. Simply tired about this man we already dropped points in 3/4 away games this season

Agree! Parking the bus is just not us. We had received some rest during the break in play. We could have continued with the same lot. Also, Atleti should do something to discourage the crowd's behavior.

The only thing I didnt understand in the game was what was the goal for stopping the game for over 20 mins? I feel like that gave Atletico time to regroup and strategize on how to control and come back in the game when before the stoppage, we were in control of the game. They should just take a short break like the hydration break, make an announcement to everyone to stop their rowdy behavior and restart the game rather than bringing all players in the dressing room (unless it is an emergency or a threat to the players). And if people still throw stuff at the players, just abandon the game and give the away team a 3-0 win.

Great vid and comments. Don't necessarily agree with most of them, tho. First of all, the ref failed big time. He warned Atleti, but even more schrapnel rained on Courtois afterwards. He should've stopped the match definitively to get the last 20 minutes played in an empty stadium. Second, Endrick can't get flak today for doing the same thing he was proclaimed a hero for doing previously. Third and last, the result was a draw, not a defeat, and a great draw at that. Psicologically, in a draw the last team to score always thinks they got a great result. Baloney. Last year they beat us 3-1 and this year all they got with the help of hooligans and a chickened-out ref was a draw. They failed to win THE match they expect to win in the season, because they know they'll screw up latter on. And we've shaved-off a point in our difference with Farsa. We've got this! ¡Hala Madrid!

The break in the second half also hurt us because the players he should've taken off got a rest to come back on like AT and Luka. I was mad because i knew he would wait late due to that. Had Guler come on for modric on the right, Frans move would make so much more sense. I just wish he would resist his bad sub habits as a coach because he has gotten better.

Ancelotti need to answer alot of questions ..We dont have bench strength at all specially at Center back ..last night after 75 min Rudiger and Militao were struggling but guess what Zero back up on bench ..also who plays so defensive against old uncles of ATM after 70 mins ..literally gave the match away ..Ancelotti need to be answered we cant play a whole 70 games+ season with 2 CB and no back up

Last night I was almost to tears 😢😢 Carlo Ancelot ruined the game !! How can you sub holding midfielders with backs ? Modric with Luka Vazquez; Is Arda Gurla sick ? Or Camavinga? Or Cebalos we needed to possess so any sub should be done is to add more midfielders in the pitch 😢😢 - Modric- should substituted to Camavinga -Bellingham should be submitted to Ada Gurla play long balls with Fede Valverde - Vini shouldn’t be substituted we needed players who hold balls and cause a problem to the opponents he didn’t have even a yellow card - Rodrygo substituted with Endrick is perfect though we didn’t need another goal than possession so we can still put one more midfielder either it is so painful when you see a coach like Ancelot make a mistakes of new coaches in the game.
