Chris Travels the World
South Korea
Приєднався 7 чер 2010
My name is Chris, and I moved to South Korea 6 years ago. I'm working for an AI startup from Seoul and use all my free time to explore and travel around beautiful South Korea. I'm fascinated with Asian culture and traveling extensively to learn and experience more of Asia. Expect content from Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Mongolia, and many more Asian countries I've made trips to. I love to fly my drone and take photos and videos of fantastic traveling spots.
You Won't Believe What I Found in Siwa Oasis in Egypt
Welcome to Siwa Oasis, a place where history, culture, and nature converge in an unforgettable journey. In this video, we delve deep into the heart of this mystical oasis, exploring some of its most iconic sites and hidden gems.
Our adventure continues at Shali Fortress, the towering ruin that stands as a symbol of Siwa's resilience and ancient history. Built from kershef, a mixture of clay, salt, and rock, Shali Fortress once served as the protective heart of the oasis, shielding its people from invaders. Today, it offers panoramic views of Siwa, allowing us to step back in time and witness the architectural ingenuity of the past.
Next, we wander through the winding alleys of Siwa Old Town, where time seems to have stood still. This ancient settlement, with its mud-brick houses and narrow lanes, offers a glimpse into the traditional way of life that has endured for centuries. As we explore, we'll uncover stories of the town's origins and its importance as a cultural hub in the oasis.
Our journey continues to the Oracle Temple of Amun, one of Siwa's most legendary sites. This ancient temple, dating back to the 6th century BC, was once a pilgrimage destination for those seeking guidance from the Oracle. It was here that Alexander the Great is said to have sought confirmation of his divine lineage. The temple’s ruins evoke a sense of mystery, inviting us to reflect on the ancient rituals that once took place within its walls.
From there, we visit the Mountain of the Dead, a hauntingly beautiful necropolis filled with tombs carved into the rock. This ancient burial site, dating back to the 26th dynasty and the Ptolemaic period, is steeped in history. The mountain's tombs are adorned with intricate carvings and vibrant frescoes, telling tales of the afterlife and the people who were laid to rest here.
Our exploration also takes us to Trazy Village, a serene and lesser-known part of Siwa where traditional Siwan life continues uninterrupted by the modern world. In this tranquil village, we witness the daily lives of the local people, their crafts, and their deep connection to the land.
Throughout our journey, we also savor the rich culinary traditions of Siwa, sampling unique local delicacies that reflect the oasis’s diverse cultural influences. From hearty tagines to refreshing dates, the flavors of Siwa are as unforgettable as its landscapes.
Join us as we uncover the secrets, stories, and beauty of Siwa Oasis, a place where the ancient and the modern coexist in perfect harmony, offering a truly unique travel experience in the heart of Egypt's Western Desert.

Interesting and informative
Glad you think so! It was amazing experience.
Those are some awesome drone shots! I'm planning to travel to Busan soon and wanted to fly my own drone out there! Are there plenty of safe places to fly your drone out there without breaking any laws?
In Korea, if you want to fly over the city, you have to get permission, but... usually, they are not that strict, especially with foreigners. But, be safe and don't do stupid things.
@@ChrisTravelstheWorld Okay thank you for the info! I'll definitely still be safe and respect the drone rules. I just wanted to be sure if it was even worth worrying about taking my drone if there were too many restrictions. I just want to get some quick cool shots of my trip out there :)

In September weather in Busan will be mild and sunny, still hot enough to do go to the beach, but not as hot as in August, perfect time to visit, actually!

The LGBTQ in korea will rise like the sun and shine brighter the LGBTQ people in korea which is a large magnitude will become fearless and embrace their true identity and be a beacon of light for others..
It's changing and I can tell people are more aware of the issues and more open to address it
Amazing!!!
Glad that you like it! Join me next time for some adventure ;))
Both Koreas are now dystopian.
wow, really, I don't think so haha
@@ChrisTravelstheWorld If this liberal takeover keeps up, then it will end up like Western Europe, it will become a shell of what it used to be. Hopefully that doesn’t happen.
@@ChrisTravelstheWorld The LGBTQ movements end up encouraging things such as mass migration, and the combination of Marxist beliefs, along with mass immigration from the third world, end up in catastrophe. Look at Western Europe, look at Germany, France, The UK, and Sweden. You can’t deny reality, and this fate will befall Korea if it doesn’t watch closely.
Beautiful video. Thanks for posting. 💕🌈💕🌈💕🌈💕
Thanks for watching. Happy Pride!
🌈💕🌈love is love🌈💕🌈
Absolutely ;)))
Chris, how did you find this trip? Where did you book it?
I traveled with friends, it was not organized trip you can book online :) 💜
Your video was excellent Chris. The advice about what to do and not do at the salt lakes was so informative. You really looked the part in the traditional clothing too.
It was really amazing trip! I really enjoyed it! The salt water was really challenging - it dries out on your skin and if you have slightly censoring skin, can be very problematic :-)
That food looks amazing! What an awesome experience in the middle of the desert. 🥰 I hope to visit one day! What is your tip on hiring a local guide?
It is amazing actually! For hiring locals always ask who have been there - here in UA-cam or Instagram, I think this is the best - personal recommendation 💜
Many of my relatives live in Busan, so I have visited it so often😂 And I have always been fascinated by the beautiful scenery created by the city and sea there.
Busan is really amazing :))🤩
Allah gorusun az kısık ateşte olsa. Bence bir az hızlı yanıyor.
Didn’t get the message but yeah
Come to east java
I will try to come and visit
love to see it ❤
Next time
Hope you can
Omg . So cute ❤
Really cute, right
Happy pride ❤️🏳️🌈
Happy Pride
If u have time, u can continue to the south Jakarta. Go to bogor city by commuter line. It take around one hour. Cheap and plenty schedule. Little city surrender by some mountains. Bogor palace, botanical garden, culinary at Surya kencana or pajajaran. If want to see tea plantation at puncak. The oldest pyramid gunung Padang at Cianjur. Happy seight seing.
Thanks for the suggestions, I am taking notes for my next visit, I will definitely love to explore further.
South Korea now 💩🤮🤢🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ South Korea then 🗿💀💪🇰🇷🇰🇷
Confused people !.. I hate this generation they are ruining this beautiful world (nature). Some are just following the trend (lgbtq trend) so sad end is near and yet people are not realized what they are doing.
As an Army myself thank you for sharing. Do you think it's easy to go there with a public transport? Знам, че транспортът в Корея е много добър.😊
Glad that you enjoyed it. It will be a challenge to go with public transport to all places. If you reach Awon, the reservoir and coffee shop are very close to each other. You might need to take a taxi to the fortress as it's a bit in the middle of nowhere though ;)))
BTS❤
Didn't know you are fan hahah, always learn something
