Hi there! My name is Dr. SidewayZ and I'm the host of this UA-cam channel Dr. SidewayZ. I'm a huge car enthusiast and I love nothing more than getting under the hood and working on my own vehicles. I've always been fascinated by the mechanics of how things work, and that curiosity has led me down the path of always attempting to fix anything regardless of how complicated it is.
Here, you'll find a variety of videos covering a range of topics, including vehicle repairs, modifications, drifting, implement repairs, and all sorts of other automotive-related content. I'm constantly learning new things and I love sharing my knowledge with others, so if you're into cars and enjoy a good DIY project, be sure to check out my videos and subscribe to stay up to date on all of my latest videos.

How to Bleed Lifters In 3mins
Hey guys tired of soaking your lifters over night only to have them not completely bleed? I have found a fool proof way to bleed them completely in under 3 minutes. This can be done at your house with.a simple mason jar, in my case i'm using a old spaghetti sauce container, a hand vacuum pump, and some oil.

How-To: Lap Valves (Quickest Way)
Переглядів 7852 місяці тому
Today I will be going over how to lap valves to reseat them. This is a super easy method I use when replacing valves due to burnt valves or when I'm installing Titanium Valves in heads. Some will argue against this method however If you follow my instructions you should have no issue as Ive been doing this method for over 12 years while Ive been building race engines as well as engines I rebuil...

Oh that’s neat
It works like a charm
Nice trick!
@@mattocros appreciate it hopefully it helps out
I'm confused
@@sarahsanders1729 it’s bleeding lifters for a engine
If I have a knocking noise from my drive motor will a rebuild work or does it sound like I need a new one please help any prospective is welcome.
It’s easy enough to take it apart id take it apart per the video and see what it looks like in there then relay back to this comment, can also upload pics to Imgur and provide me the link
What ?! No wayyyyyyyy
Game changer! 💯
Awesome vid 👌🏼
Appreciate the feedback and watch
It's like that from the factory to facilitate space saving and tighter packaging. I got the upgraded version double locking jack stands. Won't drop if the lever is lifted. 2nd lock is a one way pin.
Definitely makes sense, kinda wild I’ve never seen anyone point this out I thought it was cool lol
Great job.
Thanks I sure do appreciate the kind words hopefully it helped you out
15min shuttle valve. Note to self:)
So amazing
Appreciate you checking the video out
I was going to say something about not wearing a helmet but I don’t think that would do anything in this scenario.
Great video!.
Appreciate you dropping in!
THANKS
Appreciate you dropping in!
I hate the fa20
You and me both
When using grease to hold seals in place for reassembly, you really need to choose one that will dissolve in your hydraulic fluid. Dielectric grease is silicone based. Silicone will not dissolve into your hydraulic fluid. I would suggest using a standard assembly lube or bearing grease.
Hey I appreciate your videos! I got a used 753 Bobcat and the hydraulics are really choppy feeling when I turn. Is the rebuild in this video what you think would fix that? Thanks if you see this and respond!
That’s what mine was doing prior to rebuilding these
Weird question where do I buy hydraulic lines cheaper? I have quite a few to replace.
I’d call around there was a local Napa that used to be a big b auto parts that made hydraulic lines
I’m watching.
I assumed that repair was successful?
Absolutely
Turbo 👍🏻
Excellent video. The fuel hose is a neat trick.
It makes life soo much easier!! These valve stems were a bit smaller then usual so I had to use a hose clamp on the end to help snag the stem but it definitely makes quick work of them! Appreciate you checking out the video man! Have a great weekend!
Socket. Hammer. Smack! Done
Works sometimes but is a good way to chip a keeper or put a bur on it potentially leading to a dropped valve
Definitely helps when you have to rebuild your engine every 17 hours. Hehe
Looks like you got some hair on that spring
@@gtaylor1564 it’s wheel bearing grease it helps with the keepers
That looks like it works great, I wonder if they make any for ze Audi
Ive been doin this for years, just didnt upload because why?
Same here i thought it was common knowledge but the new guys at work were amazed so I figured id share lol
Snapon will warranty a loose universal.
My Snapon dealer is terrible to deal with he wants them broken before he warranty’s them out not to mention typically doesn’t keep them in stock. This trick works good as an alternative, I do a lot of engine rebuilds and replacements so I have a lot of manifold and down pipe bolts to get to and this is a life saver!
I have a basket case, New Holland Skid Steer 2011 model year LX 565. I am betting I will need to work on the drive pumps. Do you know if the process in your utube production will be similar? Thanks Tim
The concept should be the same while there may be some inherent differences between the motors it should get you on target it might not be a bullseye but once you get in there if you apply these concepts you shouldn’t have any issues.
Very informative video.
Hopefully it helped out some!
Brilliant
It surprisingly worked well!
No way!! that's cool af
It surprisingly worked well!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
That $15 grinder from HF is the best $15 I’ve ever spent
Dude they are 🔥 I legit got one set up for a cutting disk, another on a sanding disk, and another on a grinding disk. Legit it out lasted my Snapon I had which is hella sad!
I have used a hot air gun myself for smaller jobs.
It surprisingly works well!
I wanna see full process I been. Powder coating for long time now.
So I did a video on how to use a “free” oven to do powder coating, you can find kitchen ovens for hella cheap even free on the side of the road and it works great for the garage here’s the vid Powder Coat Like a Pro, At Home ua-cam.com/video/z00LUu5FS7w/v-deo.html
Who is the idiot in the hoodie?
That's how my buddy's shop does it but also using a cabinet to keep the heat
That’s awesome you bout have to if you can’t ball out and get a expensive autoclave I know I’m so broke I’m stuck With a free side of the road oven lol
So clean
Woah, never seen anyone secure a car with this style
It’s actually super handy! Def less potential for damage to the rims or alignment.
Great video man. Pretty sure I'm.abojt to have to rebuild my driver side drive motor on my 753
It’s honestly not bad man but I’d highly recommend doing both I did one side and then it blew the opposite side out I guess from it being newly sealed and passing that pressure on down the line. If you follow the vid you should be able to knock it out with relative ease. Just make sure to have a torch, vise and a decent work table
Funny thing is this video just popped up when I was planning on rebuilding the drive motors in my burnt bobcat project. I've been subscribed to you for quite a while and never knew you made a video on this. I've been making my own little video series on reviving a burnt to the ground bobcat 7753, Seeing how everything is meant to look is extremely helpful. Thanks for the video.
You know how that algorithm be listening to you in the background hahaha I’m Trying to get a video together on how to do the pivot pins as well but having difficulties getting anyone to replay back with a parts quote. What else do you have that you need to do? You bet hopefully it helped out some!
@@DrSidewayZ It does seem that way sometimes. So far I’ve sanded and painted the machine, tore down the seized Kubota v2203 and got it running, tore down the hydrostatic pumps and had them checked. Rebuilt and resealed. All new hoses, plastic and rubber components. A ton of work but it’s coming together. I understand the difficulty tracking down parts. My project has taken a year to get where it is now. Half that time has been waiting on parts…
Man getting parts here lately has been a complete disaster! Dang sounds like it will be good as new once you’re back together!
@@DrSidewayZ The dealer kept trying to sell me a new machine rather than help with getting parts for me. Getting the correct centering plate guides for my machine has taken over a month… it’s almost like they make it so difficult to fix your older machines on purpose only to make you get a new one.
Honestly I prefer the old mechanical beasts over the new electric everything days, sure certain features are nice but good luck with a field repair
I would not do that . Spill factor . I just use sauce cans 😂🎉
Grab you some little magnets and glue on the bottom
I’m always hitting up cheap places like Ross or marshals grabbing the ones on clearance strictly for engine builds lmaooo def makes it nice to have the ability to stack trays of bolts especially if you’re working on multiple projects and need a clear work space.
Aight imma go steal some trays from my mom 😂
lol low key they are expensive, I’m always hitting up cheap places like Ross or marshals grabbing the ones on clearance strictly for engine builds lmaooo def makes it nice to have the ability to stack trays of bolts especially if you’re working on multiple projects and need a clear work space.
More boooooooost
Bahahaha
Thank You!!!
Did it help any?
@@DrSidewayZ I have yet to put it back on the machine.... soon will know (fingers crossed) Again this video was a blessing... Thank you so very much.... I am not a mechanic just a youtube do it yourselfer. I do have one question if you can please. I did both motors 100% the same from the tear down to the amount of dielectric grease and step by step install using Hydro fluid on the rollers..... Had everything clean and then cleaned again. When together I can not turn the shaft by hand (I could before build).... My bigger question is one shaft turns with a rag and crescent wrench with one finger both directions ....... the other motor with a rag and crescent wrench turns both directions however it is a major effort.... I would say 1/3 to 1/4 as smooth? ..... will this free up once under pressure of the machine?.... Thoughts and impute greatly appreciated. Thank you again!
@@jamiepezzuti1751 just make sure those little ball bearings are in place and didn’t fall out, you may need to open it back up just to verify everything you could always use a little oil and see if that makes it easier to turn
@@DrSidewayZ everything was ok.... no issues.... simply took it apart and did take your advice with more oil.... not the same but MUCH BETTER..... Thank you again for the video and the reply... A+
Awesome glad it worked out!!
Actually brilliant!
Hey if it works it works you can also glue some little magnets on the bottom of them too
I’m dying 😂😂
Lmaoo
What a great find. I will definitely be rebuilding these AND adjusting the "creep" as in your other great video. I appreciate you brother. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
You bet! Hopefully it helped out some. It’s straightforward it just helps seeing inside of one before you go at it. Thanks
Great video. Thanks for taking your time to post videos like this. I am looking to rebuild one of the drive motor on my Bobcat 753. The serial number on mine one is 6657024 and it looks exactly like your one. Can you please tell me the OEM number for the kit you were using in this video? Thanks in advance, and keep doing this kind of videos, it helps a lot 👍👍👍
Hopefully it helped some, here’s the kit I used loaderpartssource.com/lps-drive-motor-seal-kit-to-replace-bobcatr-oem-6659601.html Thanks again
