Hi Mark. Nice review of this beauty by Scalextric. But I find it very insolent to charge so much money for a non-digital slotcar. Honestly, it costs twice the amount of an analog Carrera slotcar over here in Germany. But I am not alone, criticising the high price of Scalextric cars, next to the fact that the quality had ceased in the recent time. That is the reason for me, not to buy any Scalextric slotcars, although the newest Porsche 911 in Vailant livery tickles me, because it is a Kremer Porsche and I am a big fan of those Porsches. It is German race history and I got all Carrera liveries by the 935 Porsche for instance. Even the non Kremer 935`s. But I don`t want to spoil your purchase with my comment. It is just the fact that Scalextric is very insolent in my view, because one can get a Revoslot, Scaleauto, or NSR for the same price and they are much better than Carrera, or Scalextric. So, I guess for hardcore Scalextric fans, it is something, but not for realistic slotracers, I guess. Any way, see you soon in the next chats. Greetings from over here 🙂

So the body has no chance of getting any float, going to have to be a magnet car all it's life then. If those gears are too tight, replace the motor pinion for one less tooth, that will slacken the gears up a touch, lower the top end (better for home tracks) and give you more punch off the line and out the bends.

Looking at your video, it must be possible to detach the orange part from the chassis and glue it to the body to obtain a flat chassis and make it float to allow tilting. Thanks for sharing this video.

Thanks for another impassioned video! Nice model of the Mirage GR8 by Scalextric, but as a slot racer, Advant Slot did a far superior job at more advanced chassis mechanics making there Mirage a much better slot race car. It is still available inexpensively on secondary market in multiple liveries with many chassis options.

Inside outside lanes look real even. Nice set-up. Have you ever tried a 9v battery to help adjust gear mesh?.......

Nice one Mark, that swap meet looked amazing and, it was interesting to see that about 80% of the cars/stock is kept under glass like at the jewellery shop. The amount of AFX and small scale there was phenomenal, I think we might achieve three small trays of them across the whole events normally. This was a good video, it had a show, an unboxing, a readers question answered, update on your movements and socials - a fantastic amount in such a small space of time! Thanks mate!!

Nice Haul Mark. I like the solution you provided for the narrow space against the wall. I may do that as well but with billboards. That Slot car show is so close yet so far away from me lol, If they happen to go north just a bit or even to NY NY Id be there for sure
