Sycamore Shooting Ground - The Midweek Clay Shoot
We ventured to Sycamore Shooting Ground, a local clay ground in Sheffield with fantastic scenic views and great variety of targets for a very reasonable price! We were blessed with good weather on the day and plenty of laughs!
The ground also has a rifle range, a burger van and an off site gun shop. If you're ever in the area id recommend visiting as it's a great little ground ran by a friendly team of staff!

Crop protection on a farming and shooting estate in South Yorkshire, freshly drilled barley fields have attracted 1,000's of flying pests and are destroying crops. I set up a hide in a remote corner of one of the fields whilst other like minded shooting enthusiasts did the same in neighbouring fields and this time, it worked a treat! Changes made. HUGE SUCCESS! | Crow Shooting

Out corvid shooting over farmland. I listened to previous advice and made the suggested changes which made a huge difference! 1. Perfect the hide 2. Bring the decoys in closer 3. Use a bigger cartridge with a bigger shot size. We're starting to build a very strong and knowledgeable community now at White Rose Shooting and you the viewer are to thank for that! I hope you enjoyed watching this vi...
Crow shooting for the first time. It DIDN'T disappoint!!
Переглядів 2,8 тис.Місяць тому
A build up of crows and other corvids on local farm land needed moving on and I got the thumbs up to set up my hide. This is my first time shooting crows so I didn't know what to expect! I was using the Gamebore clear pigeon 32g 6 steel cartridge and I personally didn't think it had enough to take some of them down. Lesson learned! As always the trusted Browning never let me down! Me and my lad are in background 20 seconds into video . Spoke to you in car park briefly never twigged on and we watch your videos
Haha! It’s happened a few times now that with different people! I’ll no doubt be back mate, if you see me come and say hi! Thanks for watching the videos 👍🏼
When you mount for dtl mount above the trap house and the left and rigs to each side of the trap house I shoot a lot of dtl
Interesting! Assuming you swing through every target? Also if you don’t know whether it’s going to send your target left or right do you just have your hold point centred?
This video has everything shooting, views banter and me 😂
Just need some good looks now and we’d have a full house!
@@WhiteRoseShooting UA-cam isn’t ready for that combo just yet 🤣
Brilliant ground I have shot there quite lot and the views are amazing
Yeah you really can’t beat the view!
I’ve walked up Sycamore loads of times and that isn’t it!
Careful you don’t get shot!
Looks a nice spot.i work in Huddersfield, what time is last entries?
I think it’s 5pm-7pm
Thanks for visiting the Manor & Co stand and taking an interest in us and our bespoke guns and rifles. You did an amazing job on capturing the flavour of our brand and the National Shooting Show atmosphere. I really hope you’re at the Game Fair in Blenheim in July. Brilliant videos on the beating experience and crow shoots too. Well put together channel. Debs
Thank you debs, really nice to meet you all and get a good insight into your company. I’ll more than likely be at the Game Fair so hopefully see you all again! Thanks again.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
We leave a good are in the middle of our decoys to tise the birds to where you want to shoot them. My experience is if the pattern is to tight they drift away to the back of the decoys. Just an idea for you
Thanks for the advice mate, I’ll give it a try when I next get on the crows. Makes sense to do that to be honest now you mention it 👍🏼
Hello Martyn, niice video, well presented, thank you for visiting our stand today, was a pleaseure to meet you, Ian from CAB Boxes.
Hello Ian, thank you very much! Very nice to meet you and I’m really impressed with your products and company. Hope you enjoyed the show! 👍🏼
Hi Martyn Thank you for visiting our stand at The National Shooting Show in Harrogate & discussing the background of our family business & the range of products we manufacture. Good luck with the channel & hope to see you at another show.
Thank you for having me, very nice to meet you both! Fantastic products and really friendly company, I’ve no doubt I’ll be seeing you all again👍🏼👍🏼
Go Milly!
She absolutely smashed it! 👍🏼
One of the best shows I've been to. Well done
It’s the first time I’ve been to it and I really enjoyed it, especially with the clay comp happening outside as well! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏼
Is that fitzwilliam near ponte ?
No mate it’s in Rotherham, South Yorkshire 👍🏼
👍👍👍
Nice hits congs. When you will try Teagues in hunting?😊 Sincerely
What shells you using now pal
A mix between 34g 5’s and 32g 6’s just what I had laying about, both lead 👍🏼
Some cracking shots mate
Thanks mate! 👍🏼
You need to get a semi 😂 even better apply for your FAC and get something that holds more than 3. Great video that matey 👍🏼
Very dangerous telling me to get a semi… as you well know 👀
@@WhiteRoseShooting 😮 😂
Another good day out , you shot well today with some nice long shots 👏👏
Thanks mate, practice makes perfect and all that 👍🏼👍🏼
Some nice shots there pal and good camera footage too keep up the good work.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video!
Had it been Canada geese you would get a thumbes up but because it is the Corvid Family you get a downer
😂
Congrulations.
Thanks mate 👍🏼
Nice work 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate 👍🏼
Another brilliant video mate, keep them coming, I'm hoping to get to the shooting show myself so if I do I'll try and find you and say hi 😀
Thanks mate, I think I’m going on the Saturday, come and say hi 👍🏼
Another good one mate
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it!
Nice work on the corvids mate bang on 💥👍
Thanks mate 👍🏼
👍👍👍👍
Great video.what cartridges were you using? There seemed to be a lot of recoil.
A mixture of either 34g 5s or 32g 6s
Nicely done
Thanks mate
I like these better than the long range system
It’s a good system this one, I was impressed!
Dear Sir Is there penetration advantage of Teague chokes?
Can you explain what you mean by penetration advantage please?
More shot penetration , with higher velocity shot strike , deeper shot placement in organs
Teague claim " our conical construction has less shot deformation ; the results , more penetration and more patterns"
@@tuncaykahraman8456 hard to tell penetration when shooting clays to be honest, I’ll give them a try out the next time I’m on crows/pigeons and see if they make a difference.
Thanks for interests and answer , I will show you, joined.
Nice work on the corvids with the weather conditions aswell pal 💥👍
Cheers mate, thankfully it was only a brief shower and wasn’t too bad of a day 👍🏼
Well done mate much better
Thanks mate! Few small changes made all the difference 👍🏼
You could of still used the clear pigeon the extreme are a great cartridge I used some one pheasant last season have to bloody many different brands need a good day to use some up my main go to cartridges are zenith but a little dear for Crows
@@ghillie35 I think the problem is finding a decent cartridge for the right price these days, every thing has got so expensive!
@@WhiteRoseShooting true I have 1000s and way the weather is at the moment I can’t really get out to use some
Nice work on the corvids keep them coming mate subscribed 💥👍
Thank you very much mate! Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏼
Great video mate 👍🏼 congrats on the 1k subs too 🥳 just seems to be missing the heavier chubby element of some of your clay shooting videos but I’d still give it a 8/12 🤣
Cheers mate! Keep yours eyes pealed, he might make a return in future videos if UA-cam doesn’t ban him for his profanities 🤪
Its worth using a few magpie decoys aswell and ive never done it my self but using an owl decoy aswell as they will come down to mob birds of prey 👌
I’ve heard a few people mention about magpie decoys now, might be worth giving it a try, thanks 👍🏼
Great video mate, some cracking shots too👍
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed the video! 🙌🏼
great vid, keep them coming mate 😀👌
Thanks mate, I appreciate that! Glad you enjoyed it 🙌🏼
What camera do you use on your head bud ?
It’s a DJI action cam mate, similar to a Go Pro 👍🏼
Some good shots fella it can be very productive if you set up before light if you can.👍👍👍
Thanks mate, my issue is getting up before light 😂
I'm sure Corvid wear Flack Jackets, they can take such a hit.
Tough aren’t they!? I’m hopefully going out again this weekend and using a different cartridge so we’ll see what happens! 🤞🏻
@@waynemotty3265 Ok wayne
Make sure you flapper is not going fast use it on a very slow speed.
I’ve heard 100rpm is a good speed for it with crows?
6s are good but use a flapper or 2 closer to your hide a spinner seems to move them on, and use lead, don`t have your decoys to far out.
Thanks mate, a lot of people have mentioned a flapper now so I’ll definitely look into getting one, cheers 👍🏼
Clear pigeon are lead but I use pigeon extreme, I don't mind the clear pigeon but found without a tight choke they dint kill clean so use modified choke with 34g extreme, great video dude keep it up.
You must have read my mind haha, I’m giving the pigeon extreme a try next time out 34g 5’s. Sounds like I had the same issue as you, hitting a decent amount but not killing them. Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏼 thanks.
The clear pigeon are lead
A few people have mentioned this now, I was (wrongly) told they were steel. I’ve just upped my shot size for next time from a 6 to a 5, see if they hit any harder! Thanks for the info, hope you enjoyed the vid 👍🏼
I use 5s for everything it ok the steel cartridge normally have it written on them and yes I enjoyed the video 6s are ample for the crows just move the decoys in closer or let the birds come closer
@@ghillie35 yes I think that’s what I’m going to do next time. Move them 5-10 yards closer and be a bit more patient 👍🏼
Don’t get to disheartened buy it I used to worry about what choke and cartridges then just forgot about it and shoot more with out thinking about it it’s all about confidence
@@ghillie35 completely agree with that! Happy with my results for the first time on crows though, hopefully get some bigger days in the bag now though 👍🏼
1/2 or 3/4 choke is great even with 6s just let them come in closer, clear pigeons only come in lead bud
Thanks for the info mate, I was using 1/2 in both barrels so maybe I’ll tighten it up a bit. Totally agree with letting them come in closer, I was just getting giddy at the start of the day 👍🏼
Looks like your pattern is a bit far out. I am not an expert but you want your pattern no more than 25 yards away. In a horseshoe shape. The middle of the horseshoe in front of you. But IAM NOT AN EXPERT. great vid. Also I would have 1/2 choke aswell
Thanks for your opinion mate, it probably looks further away on camera but the middle of that pattern is 25 yards. As for the pattern itself i just winged it to be honest but seemed to work well. I’ll give the U shape pattern a try next time as it makes sense 👍🏼 thanks again
Decent content mate 👍
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it
get em in close and a 6 is plenty, try a flapper instead of a rotor they looked a bit wary.
Nice one mate, thanks for the advice I’ll give it a try the next time im out 👍🏼
