That’s a great presentation of her work. There is so much emotion in each image, and the subject’s are treated respectfully and with empathy. This would be no small feat given the treatment many would have endured a the hands of many in the general public. Her obvious ability to connect with them was an amazing talent. Wonderfully rendered video of an amazing artist ......

Her documentary portrait work was iconic, and in many ways launched a generation of 70’s & 80’s Street Photographers. Specifically, ‘Streetwise’ inspired me to continue photographing people in their environment, no matter their circumstances. She was also a master of black and white film photography. Thanks for the reminder.

Her body of work always amazes me, the humanity she brings is astounding. Great video!

hey Joel! Nice job. I never heard of his work before now. Beautiful stuff. When did people start calling b&w Monochrome anyway?? Was it because leica (the camera that is stupidly overpriced) made one called Monochrome?

Your video profiles are excellent except for one thing: Ditch the AI voice for a human narrator. It would make these videos so much better.

Excellent video thanks. Brunelli a personal favourite. I find his books a constant source of inspiration. He is solely responsible for me reducing my kit down to one (digital) body and 2 primes and my phone. All the better for it. Really enjoying this series.

Thanks Joel, I wish I’d heard of Mark sooner but now I know. His images are somewhat abstract until he adds a person into the frame, then they become stories. Each are some of the best Street Art I’ve ever seen, that demand contemplation and immersion to truly appreciate.

Joel, Sorry, but I don’t see much in the way of “stories” in any of these b&w images. Just repeated silhouetted images of men walking/cycling in the built environment. “Fine art” photography is not about telling stories, it’s about light and shadow, geometric shapes and design. His color work is far more impressive, but still is not strong as stories.
