Join me on my adventures, from overlanding with my family of 4, hiking and backpacking, and traveling the world!
The Out of the Woods annual family Christmas tree search
Just like the Griswolds, we head out every year in search of that perfect Christmas tree to bring home and decorate for this special time of year. Join us as we head into the Snoqualmie Pass mountains not far from Seattle, WA with a bunch of great friends in all of our Jeeps to enjoy some off-roading in the snow. We encounter fun and challenging times getting stuck in waste deep snow, sledding down some awesome hills, and of course, searching for that perfect Christmas tree. I hope this video inspires you to trade in thoughts of getting an overpriced trees at the lots for a $15 permit from the forest service, and embark on a full day of fun and memories in the mountains to find your tree.

Nice video. Epic times bonding with your family! Well done! 🎄
Thank you! It's one of our favorite traditions, finding the perfect Christmas tree and making memories in the process
Hell yea, planning to hit some trails up around there this weekend to find some trees, looks like a blast !
Have a great time and good luck finding a tree!
Why wouldnt you?
Great video! Planning to relocate to Arizona in a couple of years and these videos really help to plan out places to visit and what to expect. Thanks!
Love the shirt btw.
Beautiful video Love from India 🎉🎉🎉
Hey there and thank you! Means a lot😃
What table is that. The suction cup one on your door.
It's from Sea Sucker, it's such a great set up!
This brings back beautiful memories of a recent trip to Colorado with a great friend. Thank you. Hello from Cuba 🇨🇺
Trips like these are the best right?!
Love your content! My husband and I have watched a ton of your videos and today our 10-year-old son watched this one with us so we're watching some over again with him as he loves them too! Super inspiring to see the family time and memories made in nature
I absolutely love that! Do you guys have any plans to get out on your own family trip soon?
@@Outofthewoods_Adventures 100%! After watching your Canadian rockies adventures, we are planning one of our own in August 2025! Bringing our sons who will be 8 and 11 then. Coming all the way from New Zealand and going to rent an RV and spend a couple weeks exploring we can't wait.
That's amazing!!!! I hope you guys have the best time! New Zealand is high on my list of places to visit, what a beautiful place you live in
Not sure how you feel about protein powder, but my favorite pancakes to make are pretty similar to yours. Mash up bananas, add eggs, whisk, then add protein powder and stir again. Boom! More of your daily protein to keep you satiated, plus they come in all kinds of flavors without all the sugar of the maple syrup & cinnamon.
That's a great idea but honestly consuming raw maple syrup doesn't bother me as it's a natural sugar. I do have a very clean protein powder I use at home and should bring that just to add more protein along with organs (the kind I use contains organs as well, so good!!)
Great channel glad I found it, subbed for more content!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy the content!
Living in Utah... I sometimes take the scenery for granted. Thanks for the beautiful reminder of how pretty it is!
You live in such a beautiful place! I had no idea Utah had beauty like this!
How do you handle the bathroom when camping with your vehicle?
We simply walk somewhere private, dig a deep hole and take care of business and then bury it.
@@Outofthewoods_Adventuresfair enough!
Just had to laugh. I am the guy in the Gladiator at the first camp spot you checked out.
HAHA that's awesome! That's a great camp spot and the one I was going for 🤣🤣
Great video but a few mistakes done at the beginning, you are facing a cliff and she didnt even know that the vehicle was gonna go forward, I think is better to park sideways just in case something goes wrong........
I appreciate the feedback, good thing was she had quite a bit to go before actually getting to the cliff.
This video needs more views. Let’s get together and do some collaborating.!!
That’s a beautiful place. Can you tell me what lake it that one?
Yes it is! Honestly I'm not sure, I just know it was a reservoir
Great video!
Thanks for watching!
Very nice video. Where is the first camp spot you went to?
Thank you!! I can't give away these places just like that, part of the fun is exploring and finding places like this. It's about an hour east of bend though
@@Outofthewoods_Adventures The drone shots and google maps are like puzzles, put them together and there.... I found it. :D
What is the name of campsite?
It doesn't have a name, but it's just northwest of Calgary
How do you like that Tent? I still can decide on one.
Honestly it's the best tent I've owned! So quick to set up and take down, and the 360 view from inside is amazing
Beautiful drone footage and video editing. I went to this location last Fall and it is definitely one of my all-time favourite spots in B.C. Glad you guys had such great weather and an aurora show to boot!
Thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words! And I agree, this area is definitely a new favorite!
௹థథɗ👍👍..
Thank you!!
What a cool spot to check out what trail was that ?? Thsnks ! Great videos
Absolutely stunning scenery. I could never understand why there aren't more videos of four wheeling British Columbia, just looks amazing. Thanks for sharing. cheers
I fully agree! There really aren't many and there is a lot to explore up there
Where did you get your little sticky bubble mirrors at? For the side mirrors.
Just my local auto parts store
You made it to Farnham! I haven’t even been there yet! LOL
It's incredible! Definitely go
Please do a walk around of the jeep, whats done to it, and all the stuff you carry. Very interested to see
I concur!!! Jeep walk around what kind of lift, tire size, tent, any mods etc.. great videos! @outofthewoodsadventures
This has been on my list for a while, just been waiting to finish up a few things but I think I'm finally there. So I'll definitely get a video like this out soon!
@@Outofthewoods_Adventures Don't lie... you will NEVER be done 🤣
you human slaves use oil gas minerals produced by the land and the land never ask you for palm size papers called money but you still believe that you need to earn & pay palm size papers called money to be alive if this is not mind control then what else ?
dayum I need one of those vans!
HAHA same
Just finally subscribed to your channel! I have been following you on Instagram for quite some time, but this is even better! Your video definitely made me wanna go RIGHT NOW! Those fun climbing and cave trails look awesome! You know what would be great? A little video on how to get the permits and how to plan for all of that, because I have read its' really difficult to get the permits. Keep it up with the videos! I will enjoy all of them!
They you very much for coming over here too! I'm so glad to hear you like the videos! And yes thanks for the recommendation, I'll definitely doing more explaining like that in the future
Breakfast s'mores are the dirtiest most brilliant thing I have ever seen!!!!
HAHA you'll never not want to have them after you start
What brand of firepit is that?
Tacticool 🤙
You and your family are such an inspiration. It was a pleasure bumping into you at that run down gas station in the Kananaskis area. Shannon and I watched most of your videos, so great. Now we are looking into upgrading and modifying her JL Willys for some trails. Keep on keeping on buddy, play safe. If you see a Sasquatch on you adventures- PLEASE post it!
It was so great meeting you guys!! Maybe we will bump into you guys again this winter when we are back up
OMG what a beautiful place, i dream to be in a place like this, hugs and best vibes
I hope you get to!
Can I ask what front and rear fenders you have? Also can they bear weight, like stand on?
They are from kbd body kits, but no they don't support weight at all but I love them because of that flex. I'm really not worried about breaking them or anything pushing against rocks or trees
Great video! This is the kind of camping we love. I'm curious about your firepit...so many out there, what brand is yours?
Thank you very much!! This fire pit is from tacticool, it's a great little pit
Awsome! Great Trip. Teenagers almost never know how to enjoy the moments! 😂
HAHA so true
The sigma
Enjoyed your trip and love your Jeep set up. It's great to see someone all geared up to camp with that roof opened up to the sky. Got some things that have inspired me to do some day:) cheers
I love hearing that! What did you see that inspired you?
Hi, I really enjoy your video, can you please share the spots location were you camp in this video, I just staring Overlanding and can find those spots on any map.
Same here. I am planning a trip in September and recognize most of the spots near Bend. Thx and love you documentary style while having fun with the family.
I'll be putting a video together soon that'll explain my process and how I search for places like this. The hunt is half the fun honestly!
awesome camp spots. I live in bend but have not been to any of these let alone did I know they even existed! I was wondering if you have the coordinates or directions on how to get to thesis spots?
I won't share the coordinates because honestly they took me hours of research and more importantly I don't these places to end up getting overrun and ruined. But also putting in the time exploring is half thy fun!
@ totally understand and I appreciate the encouragement to adventure! Happy trails 🤙
sand one is at ray benson by hoodoo
Cool video. Beautiful locations. Just wondering what hiking boots you had on, love the blue color.
Great videos, your Rubicon is looking good. Painting the fenders to match really gives is a true custom look. What fenders are you running? I see you have knuckle pod lights and brackets, what brand are the brackets and lights? Anyhow we are enjoying your off-roading adventures, thanks. Oh yeah the graphics look good too where did you get those?
Hey thank you so much!! I just installed the fenders last winter and love them!! They are from kbd body kits, great price point and function well! The light mounts are from gate keeper offroad. And the decal I'm not sure. It was a random shop on Etsy
Lava tube. They are all over Central Oregon
I had no idea! So cool
Really enjoyed the video! As someone who lives in Bend, it’s always fun to see people exploring the area! It’s a spectacular spot for overlanding and truck camping!
You live in such a beautiful place!
Can you share the location of the amazing places you camped at?
I won't share the exact locations for their protection of being overrun, but I gave good hints and honestly research and hunting is half the fun
What are you doing with an open flame in that dry brush? Next time, stay in WA.
It was a propane fire pit, so no embers and totally safe. I also dug out around the whole fire pit a few feet away to make sure there were no grasses around. So maybe watch a little closer before you decide to leave a rude comment. 👍
Question, they seem to be ok with Drones over there or do you have to get permits?
No problem with drones in most areas, just be sure to always be curteous to those around you
