Just having fun building my offroad rig, and other projects. Stay for a bit while I and my sons, friends fabricate, build, hit the trails, pits and stop by the occasional car show.

How thick is that plate?
Spray nitrous with the other 8 holes
Very cool, I cant wait.
I can't wait to see this thing rippin' on the tons!
Me too.
Do you need to weld the tubes to the housing so they don't spin?
I plan to weld the tubes and add a low profile truss.
Nice👍
Thanks ✌
Moving to fast for trolling
They’ll figure out eventually why you should not do that 😂 I was trolling at top speed once and damn near lost a pole.
Agreed, we weren't moving far so he just left the line out.
Wanna see a magic trick?…wanna see it again?😮😅
Really you should of used blue And yellow those two colors work with each and the combination looks really nice together good combination for real now just trie it okay thanks again Charles later ❤️❤️❤️❤️ ❤️
The easiest way to fix chatter on long shafts like this is by changing your current cutting tool. RPM,feed, and doc look good. A positive toolholder and insert have much less cutting pressure than a negative holder. It looks too me like you're using an 80deg cnmg type insert/holder. Something like a VBMT, VCGT with a smaller radius (.001, .004, .008) would machine that with no chatter very easily
Thanks for the info. As I said above, I am not a trained machinist. I can use the machines, however I have so much to learn on doing it right. My daughter in law's father, now he's a machinist. (aerospace) I've seen his work. I'm a monkey with a hammer compared to his skills.
@AttwoodsGarage no worries at all, you're doing great. We all had to start at the beginning. I've been a machinist for about 15 years working in all kinds of industries and I still learn new stuff weekly, sometimes daily so it's never ending. Good luck on your next machining adventure!
There are a few reasons for the chatter on the part, one it’s a hard material and not supported well (gotta do what you gotta do), two the turning tool your using is make to cut toward the head stock (right hand cutting tool) a left hand cutting tool might help for the direction you are cutting, and lastly the rpm is a little fast for that rpm but it shouldn’t hurt too much. I hope I didn’t sound rude just trying to help. If you have a question feel free to ask.
Not at all. I'm an NOT a trained machinist. I'm an electronics guy that repairs industrial torque equipment. I've just over the years being here, had the opportunity to learn the machines, but not the skills, and fine points. Thanks!
Would you be willing to make another one.
I could but it wouldn't be any cheaper than just buying one by the time I factor in the time to make the parts and build it.
Thanks for the informative video! I live in PA and am about to have to do the same to my 02 crew cab super duty soon. Any insight on using a blank cut plate vs. fully removing and buying a replacement inner rocker? I’m not sure which way to go since my inner rocker/floor supports are pretty bad they are getting replaced too.
The inner rocker is just flat sheet, the replacement is $100. If keeping the running boards is important, then you'd probably want the replacement piece since it has those locations punched out. Otherwise, no need to spend the money. Personally, I hate all the holes. Just lets water, salt, debris to collect with the resulting rot.
Hmm I want to say screw custom shafts and leave it, but man, the trails around here are narrow
It will be a few inches narrower than it was on the old axles and I did have issues in the woods.
Don’t narrow, then all your parts are custom length and not out of the box parts for spares or breakage.
I found a solution. A long side shaft from a 77-93 Dodge Dana 60 is 3.75" shorter and has the same spline count and u joint.
looking great dude, keep going
Thank you!
Do you prefer to power stroke over the Cummins?
No preference personally, but my son has had a powerstroke for many years so I went with something familiar.
You have intake backwards this intake designed for front boost ports I have same setup I like yours I plugged the other 8 injectors to 😂yours look good
Good to know. I just set it on.
@@AttwoodsGaragehey where did you get get adapter for the throttle body I don't have the elbow just throttle body to supercharger
@@gwapolenee3702 I machined it myself.
Great, that's wonderful. As this video explains nothing. Why was this even posted?
Just to clarify, you are using the; 06. 2500HD hydro-boost and lines. And the; 95. 2500 Master Cylinder. Both GM? Thank you kindly
Correct. The earlier mc clears the hood. Yes, both GM.
Could you share the plans,pleaseee?)😊
Wow! Looks great
Thank you
Nice job thorough explanation and where'd you buy the pens? How long are they? Part number and other all different. Keep up the good work brother. Nice and clean
Thank you. The pins are just generic hood pins with lanyard kit you find everywhere.
Dude laying fruity as hell lmfao. I imagine he'd be kicking his feet in the air if he had more room to do so.
Did you fabricate all the trusses in Pinion guards yourself?
Yes. I have a CNC plasma table and I cut everything using Fusion and Mach3.
Dog was telling u to get work on them
I'm surrounded by pups. lol
Detroit locker is not the best choice.
What's your suggestion? Typical trail build, mud/rock/water, with some street.
@@AttwoodsGarage In a perfect world a Gleason torsen but they aren't available. I like Arb airlockers.
I couldn’t subscribe fast enough to your channel 🤙🏻
Pretty cool video, loved the timelapse music
Sorry about the mess😂
Any update on that rear steering?
The housing is pretty much complete. Waiting on some tooling to be machined so I can cut and spline the inner shafts. I'm also working on a 14 bolt along with my 60 front over winter with a goal to have both done for spring. The rear steer will take a bit longer as I will need to swap from leafs to coils and 4 link. Thanks for watching.
Amazing work on the engine!! Is there a webpage or documentation on how you adapted the head to the block? Just amazing!
Thank you. I don't have any, but there are several documented builds online. Google "Folvo", should pull those up.
What knuckles are you using?
+05 super duty
Where did u get the bow fingers ?
I made them from a drawing I found online.
@@AttwoodsGarage could u send me the drawing by any chance ?

Great work! Btw someone told me they like it better to run my video intro after 30 seconds of content and it helped my retention. I ended up leaving it out entirely and using it as an "outro". Social media is a weird science 🙄
Thanks and thank you for the tip.
Keep up the good work man, one of the best XMJs I've ever seen.
Wrapping the coolant lines is a good idea; I haven't got that far yet.
Original config had the lines running above the floor and I was worried anyone on that side would get burned, later, even wrapped was getting to warm in summer which led to redoing the floor and tunnel.
@@AttwoodsGarage that's definitely something to think about. I'm in AZ and it gets pretty warm. I'll definitely be making a cover for mine
$300, try $500 cost of archery is getting out of hand!
Definitely a badass rig my freind
Provide us a build/material list. This is awesome!!!
I'll try and get a longer video up and make up a parts list.
Throw it up! I want to see the list too!
Where did you buy the fingers?
I hand cut them on a bandsaw.
Looks fun!
I've had a blast building and bombing it.
Well built rig! Good luck!
Thank you!
Love it! 🤩 I used to want really bad to make that conversation back in the day for my 88 TC, including IRS. It’s a damn shame Ford didn’t make them with twin cam head!
I did my swap after seeing Phil Marshal's Merkur back in 2006. Mine is surely not wound up like his, but it was fun figuring out how to make it work. Thank you for watching.
Is this a Cherokee XJ, or a Comanche MJ? Do you have a video about the creation of this beast? Thank you!
Both actually. Started out as a 2dr Cherokee, and I grafted the Comanche cab wall. Many videos of later build, early on I wasn't filming. Cheers!
Rough life poor girl well you'll get her back in no time.
She's had a rough life from what I've found. One quarters been replaced and I had to replace the front inner clip as it had been run into a ditch when I bought it in 06.
2tone would look good something different
Considering doing that. Thanks!
I was there when you climbed the back bone. That’s was awesome!
Thank you. My first time trying something like that. Been just trails and mud. Any video? I have a partial from the bottom but not the full attempt.
@@AttwoodsGarage I will have to check. If I don’t got it I’ll ask the guys I was with and let you know!! You did awesome though. I’m lookin to get a mud toy here soon.
I am planning to do a sterling rear steer. What are you using for inner axle seals?
Haven't crossed that bridge but current idea is lathing a piece to fit the tube with o rings to seal the OD and find a seal that with work with that and the shaft.
@@AttwoodsGarage thanks for the reply! Excellent build! I like the idea of putting the ram on the back side of the axle. An old thread on Pirate has a guy who used front 05 superduty inner axle seals in the sterling after doing some machining.
