    Just discovered your videos. I’ve wondered how a single engine Sabre or Back Cove would do on the loop. Can you share some thoughts on that subject especially going slow… less than 10 knots. Thanks

    • @lovinlifeonamericasgreatloop
      @lovinlifeonamericasgreatloop 3 місяці тому

      Single engine is great; we have bow and stern thrusters for maneuvering. It’s a great boat for all kinds of weather as you can run the air, heat, or open all the windows and still have almost 360 views while underway. It’s also nice for going through or staying in buggy areas as you have the beautiful windows to keep them out, while still maintaining the View! We absolutely love our Back Cove 37 🙏

      In France there's also the Saint-Louis-Arzviller "inclined plane" (as these things are called): ua-cam.com/video/XddWCvSfuGg/v-deo.html In Britain there are the Anderton Boat Lift and the Falkirk Wheel: ua-cam.com/video/Lm8_EN-PzlA/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/DxKWSQDeA78/v-deo.html There are probably more contraptions I don't know about. All the three above lift the boats while afloat in large tubs. While this may appear to add complication, the beauty is that (by way of Archimedes) the tubs weigh exactly the same irrespective of content, and thus the whole contraption can be perfectly balanced by counterweights and operated with minimal power. The Falkirk Wheel carries a combined load (both tubs) of 500 tons, but needs only 30hp to rotate.
