Loved the pregame feature on gloves. Wally Joyner in his rookie year and the great Cal Ripken, and the incomparable Vin Scully/Joe Garagiola announce team make it a total gem. Thanks for this post.

55:55 Joe earlier commented about the lady with the Bible Verse reference on her shirt. Not the verse, just the reference. Now they are kicking her out, or at least moving her somewhere else. I wonder if they would do the same if someone was wearing something from the Quran, the Vedas, or the Tipitaka

I am sitting in my recliner, and I’m crying like a baby….i grew up with ALL these ORIOLES. MY only sister was born on October 10, 1966. My family is all from Baltimore, especially on my Dad’s side. My favorite was always Brooks, but that’s an obvious one…I always thought that Mark Belanger held his own as shortstop. I loved how Chuck Thompson ( remember HIM?) would sometimes pronounce Belanger’s name in a French style…now THERE’S a f*ckin’ memory, ORIOLE COUNTRY! As they say, LOL! Baltimore Strong.

Steady Eddie (Murray)! He was so dependable for the 'Birds in those WS years, 1979 and 1983, and, besides, he rocked the "afro" version of the "Porn-Stache"!

I have followed the Orioles ever since the 1964 season. I am a poor loser! It anguishes my soul whenever they lose! 82 was a tough one, but they came back and won it all in 83. Now we have the 2024 team. Lots of talent with the same passions the teams had in 82/83. It’s going to be a dog fight, but something magic is going to happen! Somewhere up in heaven, Earl, Frank, and Brooksie are going to be proud of this wonderful collection of Birds!

I was so lucky to have been able to have been able to attend so many Brewers games back in the 70's and 80's. I remember Eddie Murray, Ken Singleton, Fred Lynn, Cal Ripken Jr., Jim Palmer, and so many others. The American League East Division was the toughest Division in baseball. We had the Brewers, Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees, Tigers, Indians, and Blue Jays. I was blessed by being able to see each of these teams multiple times over multiple years. Up until the MLB realigned the divisions and sent the Brewers to the National League and the Houston Astros to the American League. I miss those days.

One trade. June 1976. Yanks send Dempsey, McGregor and Tippy Martinez to the O’s for a bag of baseballs. Oh how different history could have been but for impetuous George Steinbrenner

Old school ABC had the best on-screen graphics package. I love the fonts & drop-shadows they used, and that red line underneath the text gave off an aura like "this is major world news that you're watching." A random MLB game in June feeling this important is pretty insane to think about now. Al Michaels in his prime could make paint drying seem fascinating.

I grew up in Milwaukee during the 70's and 80's. I remember going to County Stadium as a kid. Watching the Red Sox, the Yankees, the A's, the Blue Jays(which was our Little League team BTW), and the Baltimore Orioles. Jim Palmer, Eddie Murray, Cal Ripken Jr., and so many other legendary players from the 70's and 80's. Being able to say that I was able to see Jim Palmer pitch! Epic memory! I got to see Earl Weaver snap on a Umpire. The 70's and 80's were incredibly special times.

29 game season ticket holder from 87-91. Section 6 Mezzaninev third row. Perfect seats. Just enough under cover that if it rained, you didn't get. We had no idea this game would be so amazing. Shame we couldn't keep Finley.

I’ve had a 13-game plan every year since 1990. Bought it to get in lottery for tickets to last game at Memorial. Sat out by the left field foul pole in Memorial and have been in 55 every year at Camden just behind 3rd base. Opening Day 89 is one of my favorites that I ever attended.

I was at this game. Freshman year at Brother Rice. My father had season tickets through his job. Went to many games that great year. My seat was second row , upper deck 1st base side , looking right down the line. 83 was great....All-Star game , playoffs. Too bad they only had a 1-yr run.
