The original song was written and performed by Bryan Adams for the movie "Robin Hood: The Prince of Thieves". This is the version that the movie execs wanted with lutes and lyre because the song was too modern and pop-y for the setting but Bryan Adams wouldn't budge so they buried the song at the end of the movie credits. They also did that because Bryan's own recording studio though the song was a flop. Then it became #1 hit on every radio station for 7 weeks in row. Shows you what execs know about music. Great performance by the way!
