Just realized the video cut out!
I want to complete all WIPs in order to make room for new projects that I intend to finish immediately. They are in crochet bags I collected. Now I do not have a bag to carry a current project while riding, sitting in a waiting room, hanging out at the library, etc.
That's a great goal to have!
The Thing is, I started Chrocheting 3-4 month ago and I am confused about the disliking of feohhing... My first piece took probably 2 weeks and I frogged and frogged and frogged the shit out of it... I had no pattern, I had an incomplete video tutorial I was watching at 0.5 speed or something because wtf are sc? Wtf is a hdc? What the fuck are you talking about?" And after that 2 weeks I had a perfect octopus hat with perfect cute twirly tentacles, seestars attached and gone wild on it. Now I do Amigurumi that are really good, nothing crooked, nothing off at all and I think it's because I had no fear to feogg, I just did what I understood and when it felt off/looked weird, I frogged ubtill it looked like it should. 🐸 Was the best teacher that I could ever had and yes, I might have been slow but I am proud of myself, that I even can read patterns now without any help, that I know every stitch etc. TLDR: Frogging might be your best friend and be honest here, it's kind of oddly satisfying. 😅
I love this! Frogging really is such a valuable teacher, even if it can be frustrating at first. It’s so inspiring to hear how you pushed through those early struggles and now create flawless amigurumi! Crocheting is definitely a journey, and your determination to figure things out is exactly what makes this craft so rewarding. Also, I completely agree-there’s something oddly satisfying about frogging and starting fresh. Keep up the amazing work, and happy crocheting!
@@Yarnasasecondlanguage Thank you so much for the kind words. Yes, let's make the world a prettier place with our crocheting. 🤗
Also sorry for all the spelling errors, I absolutely don't know what was going on there 😅😭
I sadly was disappointed in visiting Hobby Lobby last year for yarn. I am a no pom pom person. I do not enjoy making them.
That's a bummer. Hopefully, they've stocked up on some great options this year!
Can you imagine the clicking sound from her needles??? Hope you're ready for the weather moving through this week.
Shaking my head, dropping my jaw, my brain screaming Nooooooooo!!! Yeah, been there Dunn that!!!
Froggy would a wooin' go, uh huh, uh huh 😂 Frogging can be so sad but so necessary!
Frogit 😞 😞 😞 😂❤
Rip it, rip it, rip it 🐸
🐸
I'd love to be able to crochet faster so i can do more projects
I've decided to organize my yarn in the up coming weeks. I have full/partial skeins/balls spread everywhere in various tubs and bags. My daughter-in-law keeps sending bags of various yarn that she is being given by her previous mother-in-law. I'm overflowing with them.
Your pup is adorable. I want to get better at mosaic and making wearables. Happy New Year ❤
Happy New Year! Those are great resolutions!
I want to do a temperature blanket for the new year and walk at least 10 minutes a day ( I know that’s not much but it will help me get in a routine) and do a “read the Bible in a year”. Keeping my fingers crossed I can do it. If you want to learn new stitches you should check out hooked on sunshine Facebook page. It has gorgeous patterns
That’s a great combination of goals!
Great video! I’m an experienced crocheter and I crochet corner to corner all of the time, but somehow with this moss stitch on the decrease, things turn into a dumpster fire. Either things start curling or there are gaps on the edges, which look terrible. I achieve the perfect square and it looks alright, but not great. If anyone could tell me what I am apparently doing wrong, I would really appreciate it. TIA! 😊
Hey! Perhaps you’ve considered the following but here’s my 2 cents. 1. Edge Consistency: Make sure you’re chaining the correct number of stitches at the start of each row, and tighten your turning chain to avoid gaps. 2. Stitch Placement: Double-check that you’re placing your single crochets and chains in the correct spaces. This can be tricky on the decreases! 3. Tension: Maintaining even tension is crucial, especially during the decreases, to prevent curling. 4. Blocking: If the edges are still not cooperating, blocking the finished square can help even things out.
@ Thank you! I did end up finally getting it yesterday, because I am tenacious, and I did use stitch markers and that helped tremendously! All of these tips are great-Happy 2025! 😊
Easy to use. Don’t understand why anyone would have a problem with it.
A CROCHET ACCIDENT!!!! YIKES!!!
The metallic was very easy to use. Didn't see any difference from the other I love this yarn
Knitting the acrylic of this brand usually requires size 8 needles. 😊
Knitting, i believe has been around the longest and I'm a crocheter.

This would make a great checklist to use going forward...'think before you buy', so you don't overload your stash or break the bank. I like - craft with what you like!
Nikki is a smart one!
Totally agree with you Miss Nicki. I have no shame in my crochet game. Crochet is my hobby and I love it. I use it all, acrylic, blend, natural. Just depends on who I'm making it for and how it feels next to my skin. Love the Q&A's. Keep it coming. Princeton I also loved the yarn mysteries. Very interesting concept . . . enjoyed listening.
It's nice to hear you don't let yarn shame get you down.
We had a lys who looked down on crochet. The owner had the nerve to tell me the yarn I chose was too good to waste on a crochet item and I should learn to knit. I informed her I had knit longer than she had been alive, left the yarn on the counter, and left the store. Not surprisingly it has since closed. I travel to other areas and visit their lys when I can. There are great ones out there, don't let a bad apple sour you on shopping local. I expanded my definition of local to 200 miles away 😊
Hi 👋 I usually buy yarn when it’s on sale but I’m going to stop doing that till I actually need yarn again because my stash is too big and that is wasteful I think if it just sits there not being used. It stresses me out so I’m going to give myself a break. 😅
It can be so hard to resist a sale, but sometimes taking a break is best!
@@Yarnasasecondlanguage 👍
Miss Nicki’s! It’s so good to see the band together again!
