Helen Reddy, Sings and Stars As Nora in "Pete's Dragon". PS. The video is a bit bad because I recorded it from the movie on my IPhone.

Was that filmed in Disneyland? If not, it couldn’t have been too far away from it!

Pete's Dragon is one of my all time favourite musicals. The songs are so catchy and easy to learn. I went to see it loads of times in the cinema . I have it on blu ray and like to watch it. It really cheers me up on a rainy day.
2:00 outta my way!
Goodness! I haven’t checked my channel in YEARS. This video quality is sooo bad. 😂 I’ll definitely dig out my trusted copy of this movie and try to get a better video uploaded soon. I have had so many life changes since I posted this video, and now have a 6 month old boy. He loves this movie soundtrack. ❤ I’m glad you guys got to enjoy a classic blast from the past ❤. Regardless of what the quality of the video is.
I love the dialogue between one of the fishermen and Nora right before this song: Fisherman: hey kid, there ain't no room in this town for a dragon, and there ain't no room in this town for jinks like you either. Nora: well, if there's enough room for a chowder head like you then there's more than enough room for a dragon.
Funny how you realize how genius the Disney writing staff was when creating these songs. Currently listening to this watching Israel attack Gaza, a city with 2 million people in it who cannot leave after people from that city attacked Israelis because neither can share the land as God planed it.
Rip Helen reddy
I appreciate this video I also have autism and this is very moving
I made this so long ago to spread awareness because my little cousin was diagnosed (when it was still considered Asperger’s Syndrome) at birth and I’ve been fiercely protective of him as well as any and all types of people on the spectrum. ❤ Sometimes it’s hard for my cousin to stand up for himself and he feels bad asking me, but 1000% until the day I die, I will defend everyone. ❤
3:18 Nora was pushed higher on the swing by Elliot.
One of my favorite Disney movie musicals. I had the album and use to play it over and over singing all the songs.
Olivia Newton John was considered for role of Nora, but she wasn’t available. Do you think she would’ve done a good job if she did take it?
Maybe . This Nora was great because of the fiesty protectiveness. Olivia probably wouldn't had had that. Both Australian women. Both RIP
I can't imagine anyone else playing Nora I love Olivia don't get me wrong but Helen did a great job love this movie so much .
Just before this scene Pete says “You don’t name girls Elliot!” That’s actually not true! I’ve heard the name Elliot used for a girl a few times over the years! And a friend of my mums son just recently had a baby girl which they named Elliot! Elliot is not strictly a masculine name, it’s gender neutral!
"Well, if there's more than enough room for a chowderhead like you, then there's more than enough room for a dragon." -Helen Reddy
*100%* I *LOVED* this film and still do. I remember having the vinyl record as a child and playing it SO MUCH that I wore it out. When plans for a remake were announced, I was actually _SO, SO, EXCITED._ Excited to hear the songs and to see this MASTERPIECE updated. I was *DEVASTATED* upon learning they would NOT be making it into a musical. I'm sorry, but you *CAN'T* have _Pete's Dragon_ and *NOT* include the music. The 2016 film wasn't "bad", per se but it didn't have the heart of the original, and I found myself disappointed. ❤️
beyond beautiful.
Helen Reddy: "Well If There's Enough Room For A Chowder Head Like You, Then There's More Than Enough Room For A Dragon"
R.I.P Helen Reddy
Can't explain how many memories this brings back.
Cool the Video
Great movie A classic never dies
This gives me so much nostalgia it's almost painful. This is probably the number that made me love musicals for life, it's so beautiful. (I also remember trying to decide which of the girls' dresses I liked the most, and I never could choose!)
Rewatching this after watching I am women and finding out that that it’s the same women x
Could you please create “ Pete’s Dragon- Boo, Bop, Bopbop, Bop ( I love you too) Lyrics “ on March 23, 2021
Oh goodness! These videos were so bad and so long ago, but let me dig out my trusted copy and I’ll get one uploaded soon for you. I have a 6 month old now so my life is hetic but I’ll definitely get it uploaded within the next couple of months. ❤
One of my favorite movies!❤
in spite of how young I was when I first saw this movie on VHS with my family I was old enough to understand the context of this song. the message of this song is that no matter how different a person is from other people we all have a right to live in the world.
Love her 💕 she's will be missed wonderful people 😊
Some bad audio on this one
As a vegan for the animals in 2020. This song was way ahead of its time. RIP Helen Reddy 🙌
A good message to hear these days. Too bad it would never be accepted in today's climate.
What's wrong with this movie? NOTHING!
I’ll miss you Helen

R. I. P., Helen Reddy. An "'AMAZING!!'" Legend!!!
R.I.P Helen Reddy a true star 💞💞💞
RIP Helen Reddy
RIP Helen Reddy, we kids on set loved her..😔
@horrorflickguyyes, I was one of many children that were singers and dancers on the film on disney's back lot in the late 70's.
@@andrelambert3292 was hellen nice?
@@starbright45 extremely, we all spent about a month with learning the steps which she came to also, and the singing, in studio, we all kinks loved her she was so inclusive. I only talk to two of the other children, and we all fondly remember her
*kids🤣
@@andrelambert3292 It's great to hear this from someone involved with the movie. It must have been great fun to be part of this film.
I remember very well the first time I saw this movie on VHS with my family. it was the year of 1991. it was my eighth birthday. I remember my grandmother came from Santa Paula to stay with me and my family for the weekend. my mom and I rented this movie from the local library. I remember sitting on the floor of the living room watching the movie together with my family. I was drawn to this song the first time I heard it.
I also remember when this was a VHS movie
At :31, a fisherman decides he has no time for such malarkey.
the fishermen were saying that Pete and his dragon do not belong in the town. they were blaming Pete and his dragon for the fact that they were not catching any fish.
I love that song
We all do!
I was singing this song a minute ago and I came here because this is a classic song and movie and this was my childhood. I love the old Disney!
I saw this movie at a drive inn as a kid a few years younger than Pete but I felt like it was a picture about my life at the time with a father who was like the Gogans I had to keep my eyes averted from my dad's while watching this movie because I was one of those kids who's eyes and face was easy to read very easy to read. In the years after now things are a little more at ease but not too terribly much in all ways but still is my favorite Disney movie.
Rewatching this now, my takeaway is anxiety over that playground of mast and rigging.
The most underrated Disney movie in history. In my opinion anyway.
Kawaii Disney it’s not just your opinion! I couldn’t agree more!
The most underrated live action Disney movie next to Camp Nowhere!
I agree! Such a great message and beautiful music! ❤️
I grew up watching this VHS and wearing it to death. Let's pretend the remake never happened bc that was a disastrous mess.
My favorite!!❤❤❤❤❤
Two reasons i love this all time Walt Disney family classic musical with a great starcast. From my small very young boy childhood i have always loved dragons. And when this great brilliant film came out it was the only film my Ma two young brothers and me went to see at the Odeon in Glasgow. That was our special day place in time. This is a brilliant film. Many great stars in it. A great soundtrack.
I love when Elliott pushes Nora and she's like " wow! That was a big push noop can't stop singing"
