Sadly I just think the game doesn't have a big enough base of players to support online. That or something is seriously broken with their matchmaking system. My only recommendation is to only try to play at peak times.A few times I've gotten matches in 30-60 seconds pretty regularly and in others it's 5+ minutes.

Yeah. The crush cars feel more like “brick wall”cars

I can see and do agree with some of that. My biggest gripe is no real free roam. Sometime I just want to drive around by myself. That’s also the way my young son likes to play. The “training area” is just not big enough.

I’m having fun. TBH I’m not 100% sure I’m satisfied though. My favorite part of the game is missing; the open world. My son and I loved just driving around on ST2. It’s a bummer we can’t do that together. Regardless of that the game looks beautiful and feels pretty good. I’m an optimist at heart so I think I’ll end up enjoying it for years to come.

Not sure if I feel better or worse now that I know i got whipped by a 7 year old 😂. Tell him I said “good race” and maybe once I get my live streaming set up in a couple weeks I can get a rematch 🤣

I'm going to work on getting something together so I can play matches with people that want to, and then feature them on the channel in the Freestyle Adventure. I know everyone uses discord for stuff like that, but I'm not very discord fluent haha. Maybe I'll get my little brother to teach me. Tell him I'm gonna start practicing for that rematch!

Do you have cross-play enabled? Also, you can see in my second Showdown video I was waiting 6-7 minutes between races so it might be a lack of players (or just bad match making)

I’m not sure how I’ll incorporate Showdown into the “Adventure” series. I’ll have to see once I’m really familiar with it. Even if I can’t, I still have a lot of stories to tell with Steel Titans 2 in the works. Just cause Showdown is out doesn’t make ST2 less of a great game to me 😝
