With the too connected part hes trying to say the standalone films should try to work as a standalone and not have to feel like you need to watch a million other projects before it. its fine when an avengers or team up film is connected. But characters standalone films should be there own story not being directly effected by films before it not in their series.

I watched all the spiderman films with my girlfriend who isn't into super hero films and said spiderman homecoming and far from home were the worst, because they feels like they are written by ai and don't feel like a cohesive film. just a compilation of scenes. she's right.

The Raimi trilogy is Sam's take on spiderman, it's not the perfect version of spiderman. I mean he shoots webs out of his fuc*ing skin and technically only one of the villains have a direct connection with spiderman. The Green Goblin wanted revenge on the employees of Oscorp and the gov for not funding his projects. Doc Ock only wanted to steal money to build his machine, and Sandman was just trying to support his sick daughter. The only villain who has any reason to be mad at Peter is venom. Technically Sam Raimi retconned Ben's death being a consequence of Peters actions because it was Sandman who actually shot him and not the criminal who interacted with peter. Peters relationship with MJ in the trilogy is also way more unbelievable than the MCU movies. He doesn't know anything about her personality and didn't know where she worked until he ran into her in the middle of the street. He didn't even know she was getting married until she said it to him. You can love the Sam Raimi movies but just because other Spiderman movies aren't like them doesn't mean they're not good spiderman movies.

One of my favorite things in chapter 2 is looking at the rooms Queen makes for the different characters based on their search histories. Showing that she was legitimately trying to make rooms they would enjoy, but misunderstood what they actually meant. It's like a continuation of the theme established with 'people look up traffic all the time they must love it.' Trying to be helpful but not understanding the context behind those queries.

Actually, the potassium thing isn't completely random. Potassium is a good conductor, and is often used in the making of electronics. Not only is the banana perfect absurdist humor at first glance, but it becomes even more fitting when looking closer.

The problem I always have with his reviews, especially of Spider-Man, is that he often misses talking about the actual flaws of the film. No way home actually does have a lot of flaws, just not the ones he pointed out.

I think the series ended perfectly

I don’t think a season 3 is really needed, but I’d die for a prequel miniseries that explores the history of gravity falls and maybe has some of Ford’s research, a spinoff with Stan and Ford, a sequel after Mabel and Dipper are all grown up(just like the audience) showing how the weirdness affected who they are, or maybe a movie. The character’s journey in gravity falls ended in this chapter, but this world has so much more potential to explore without damaging the sanctity of the original series, and there are countless other ways in which we can explore that, even outside a series: video games, puzzles, other books, UA-cam channel ARGs, of course, if Alex Hirsch chooses to do so and isn’t pressured by Disney. In the end, I think I want to explore more of this world for what it is, and I want to see more of the characters that weren’t featured as prominently in the original series, but I want this only if it has a purpose and it’s made with love and care(that’s the charm of the series in my eyes), and not for the profit of greedy corporations…

People being like "but I need it, but I want it" are the reason why shows get run into the ground instead of ending peacefully. I really hope Alex Hirsch doesn't give in

"Gravity Falls doesn't need a season 3?" To judge from UA-cam comics, fan dubs, etc, season 3 has been running for some time now. (The characters get older, mate, reproduce and die.)

Haven't even seen the video yet, but I fully agree.

I can somewhat understand that fans of Lord of the Rings or The Witcher don't like the casting of people of color because apparently the species and characters are specifically described as white in the books and so the casting doesn't match the image in the reader's head. Fair enough. However ... can you find a human being looking more like a mermaid than Halle Bailey? She's perfect casting. Her voice is absolutely beautiful. She's great in the role. There's so much one can criticize about the Disney live action remakes. This casting decision shouldn't be on anyone's list. Thinking that a trailer (a teaster trailer no less) will tell you whether a studio is trying to tell a good story is ridiculous. It's the teaser's job to show you the look and feel of a movie. The Little Mermaid teaser, while being rather boring and unremarkable, did just that. It's definitely true though that many of these remakes give their female characters more agency and make them "stronger women". I personally like that. It usually makes for more interesting characters.

To be honest agree with Hitopfilms opinion of the villains of home-verse spiderman, to me it’s lame you take these spiderman villains and make them connect to Tony stark one way or another, it’s doesn’t give Peter this feel of being solo, and they had to drag the green goblin back 🙄 to actually give Home spiderman a true villian. Who is the best part of No way home.
