#cinema4d #redshift3d #interiordesign Welcome to Resculpted! In this new series, I will try and recreate a number of different images and products within Cinema 4D and Redshift. The rules for this is to try and do the whole project in one sitting and to only use a maximum of two renders before having to submit a final render. My goal for the series to to try and find a fun way to learn Cinema4D...

hello!! Thank you for your lessons, they insanely inspire and motivate me. I am from Russia, so I hardly understand English, but still your lessons are very informative and useful!!
Hello, thank you for your support and I am glad I am able to help! I try and show everything on screen so people can follow along without knowing that much English. Also, let me know if there is anything you want me to work on that may help you. Thank you again!
many of the assets are not transferable, like scripts, plugins, or anything involving coding outside UE and Unity, program specific files gone too, houdini hips gone, there are no categories for any of that
Unfortunately, I recently saw that too. Asset transfer uncertainties, concerns over ownership and like you said, program specific files are gone. I’m curious if these companies are having disputes within the merger, causing a lot of key features to be held out of the marketplace or if its just a technical issue. We will see I guess but yeah, kind of a bummer for now.
so amazing
so useful
That’s awesome, I’m glad the video was useful to you! I appreciate it.
Really nice
Thank you, happy to hear it.
I did what you told me. I think "Outline" section refers to the external of contour, but it still only has lines in geometry outline and it doesn't fit into the alpha applied side. Please give me an application sample.
Hmm, interesting, try this: Use the Redshift Object Tag: - Select the plane object. - Right-click and choose Redshift Tags > Redshift Objects - In the Redshift Object tag, go to the “Visibility” tab. - Enable “Remove from Toon Line” This will prevent the plane’s geometry from generating toon lines based on its shape. Or you may have to Modify the Alpha Channel - Ensure that the alpha map is properly connected to the material. - In the Redshift Material, you should already have an alpha map (texture) connected to the “Opacity” input of your material. - The alpha map should determine the transparent and opaque areas of your material, but the toon outline needs additional steps. Since the standard "Outline" feature in the Redshift Toon material follows the geometry rather than the alpha map, and you've already tried adjusting the Redshift Object Tag settings without success, here's an alternative approach: If somehow that still doesn’t work you can try this: Duplicate the Object: - Create a duplicate of your plane object and apply the same alpha map to the duplicate. Apply a Black and White Material: - Apply a new Redshift material to the duplicate object. - Use a “Shader Graph” in this material to create a black-and-white version of your alpha map. - Plug the alpha map into the “Diffuse Color” channel, where white represents the opaque areas and black represents transparency. Use a Fresnel or Curvature Node: - In the Shader Graph, add a “Fresnel” node to detect the edges based on the alpha. - Connect this node to the input where you want the lines to appear, such as the “Diffuse Color” or “Emission.l Set the Duplicate to Outline Only: - In the Redshift Object Tag for the duplicate, enable “Remove from Toon Line” on the original object but leave it active on the duplicate. - Set the duplicate to render only the outlines by making it fully transparent or black while maintaining the edge detection for the outline. Composite the Results: - Use the Compositing Tag in Cinema 4D to control visibility, ensuring the duplicate only affects the outline. - This method may require some tweaking with the Redshift render settings to blend the outline correctly with the original object.
@@IlluminationLab_ The term "Remove from Toon Line" you mentioned is not in the "Visibility" of the Redshift Object Tag.

@@IlluminationLab_ thanks
In Redshift Toon Materials, when I apply the alpha image to the plane polygon, the line is not represented by the alpha map, but it comes out according to the plane. How can I make the line appear according to the alpha map?
Good question, make sure your alpha map is properly connected to the Opacity input of the Redshift material applied to your plane. Also, make sure you have a redshift object tag. In the redshift object tag, go to the “visibility” tab. Make sure “primary ray visible” and “secondary ray visible” are checked. In your Redshift Toon Material, go to the “Outline”section. Make sure “Line Transparency” option (or similar settings depending on your Redshift version) is turned on. Lastly, I’m sure you know about this but you might want to double check, In your Redshift Render settings, ensure that the “Ray Trace/Alpha Transparency” is enabled under the Advanced tab, allowing proper rendering of alpha maps. Hope this helps!
@@IlluminationLab_ thank you very much.
Of course, hopefully that helped. Feel free to reach out and I’ll try and assist the best I can.
Why you chose to use cylindrical lights instead of using emission materials?
Hey, man! I personally use Cylindrical lights for a few different reasons. Cylindrical lights provide more precise control over the quality of light, including parameters like intensity, color temperature, spread, and decay. Where I believe emission materials can be harder to control and tend to have noisier lighting. Emissions can also increase render times. I think you have better control with Cylindrical lights overall, with shadow density and you have a bit more artistic control. Emissions can cast shadows pretty well but I feel like I can’t control them as well. I think emissions are great for sci-fi scenes or glowing signs where shadows aren’t really a big deal. I also think with working with glass or a lot of reflective materials emissions can be unpredictable where I believe cylindrical light can give you a more predictable look. Both are great but I personally use cylindrical for this type of scene. Hope that helps, thank you for reaching out!
Appreciate this! Subbed 👍
Cool stuff!

Really cool!

What version of redshift and NVIDIA graphics driver are you using, and why does redshift respond so quickly?
Redshift version 3.6.01 at the time of this recording. Nvidia 3060 T.I. When making videos, I normally record myself doing the process and then I take that recording and edit it. During editing, I will speed up slower parts or delete loading times to help condense the video. Usually redshift is pretty responsive for me but that can vary depending on how heavy the scene is or my settings at the time.
Very cool
Thanks man, I greatly appreciate it.
@@IlluminationLab_ Interiors are super tough for beginners and to teach, but you nailed it! keep up the great work! I'll share your channel in my discord for sure!
@effectatron Thank you, I try and make it educational and somewhat entertaining to watch. Every video I try and get better from a delivery standpoint and also technically as well. I actually learned Cinema4D from your videos and a few others. Thank you again and I appreciate you sharing within your community.
OMG! Your work is so beautiful !!!
Thank you, I greatly appreciate your kind words.
Great! Thank You!
I’m glad you like it! Part two should be coming out soon!
Doesn't cinema4d have groupings or selections of multiples?? this should maybe have been a 5 minute video instead of an hour and ten..
Correct, you can use nulls within the object manager to group assets together and you can apply colors that way, which I mention several times in the video. The goal of this video is to show the overall process of working within this scene which includes minor modeling, lighting and applying color.
I enjoy your content. I follow you cuz there isn'tany content like archvis with c4d and redshift. And this one was accurate(I mean realistic like a project that can be sold in ArchVis render market) so if you can do more of this things. I'll be appreciated.
Thank you, I’m glad you like it. I enjoy doing interior projects within Cinema 4D but I never really know if people enjoy watching or learning about interior design. So with that being said, thank you for reaching out letting me know that you enjoy it. I will continue to make videos like this and I will continue to increase the quality in time. Also, let me know if there is a specific design style or a specific room you would like me to do and we will get it done.
that is beautiful, thank for your Tutorial
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it!

Yes, a mock smartphone company. This was my try at creating an ad within Cinema4D.
Is it a smartphones company
Yes, it’s a mock smartphone company. I made two mock ads and I’m currently working on a mock showcase coming later this month.
I have just discovered this channel, but it is already obvious that it is excellent, your videos are of very high quality, I hope you are in better places.✋🙂↕️
Thank you, I greatly appreciate it. I try and make sure both the creation process and the video is the highest quality that I can achieve at the time. I’ll continue to get better and I plan to work on this series for a long time. Thank you again for watching and I’m glad you liked it!
Amazing lesson! Thank you!
I’m glad you liked it! Thank you for checking it out!
Nice one. Do you prefer Redshift to Octane for interior architecture?
Glad you liked it! I’ve primarily used Redshift for most of the renders I’ve done only because it comes as a package deal under Maxon. So when learning Cinema4D, I learned while working within Redshift. Since I’m familiar with it, I have stuck to it because I have had no problems with it. I have recently thought about trying octane because it seems to be a bit more dynamic and quicker to render at the same or higher quality of redshift. I think redshift falls short when it comes to vegetation where I think octane is a bit better in that category as well. I also believe the lighting system is different in Octane, almost similar to an Unreal Engine 5. But, I could be wrong about that. Either one would be good for architecture but I would lean more towards Octane, especially if the scene calls for vegetation.
Seeing you build this from nothing… the result is amazing. Great job!
Happy to hear that you enjoyed it, I greatly appreciate it!

Glad you liked this one!
keep it coming brother, its really difficult to find good tutorials on redshift and cinema 4d, when I saw your bathroom modeling video few hrs ago without thinking I subscribed to your video, it was really good, you are doing amazing work brother.
Thank you, I greatly appreciate your kind words and for subscribing. Every video I do I try and put in as much effort as possible to make sure it’s both educational and entertaining to some degree. Please let me know if you want me to go over anything specific or make a video about something you are curious about. Thank you again and I’ll keep getting the videos out to you.
Fantastic tool! Thanks for kindful and informative upload! :)
Glad you like it! Thank you for checking out the video, I greatly appreciate it.
Enjoyed this a lot and learned a new trick or two along the way🙂 I didn’t realize that area lights could be a shape other than rectangle!! I did notice you struggled a bit on getting your cubes to rotate to exactly 90 degrees. If you hold the shift key when you rotate something it will constrain it to 5 degree increments…. much easier! Thanks again and keep up the great work 👍👍🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’ll definitely keep producing videos like these going forward. Thank you for the rotation tip! In the past, I felt like I would have to fight it to get it exactly 90 degrees but now I can be a bit more effective with the shift key. 😂 I appreciate you reaching out with your kind words and guidance. Thank you again!
Love this!
Glad you do, I think it’s pretty cool too!
Very cool!
I think so too!
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you, glad you like it!
how to card back-front, redshift, tks ♥
Are you asking how I made the front and back of the cards? If so, I just used two cubes, turned on filet to round off the edges of the cubes and then made those two cubes touch. I put the cubes into a null and Imported a texture for each cube and applied the texture. I hope this helps but if not, reach back out and I’ll be happy to assist.

Ive built hundreds of bathrooms in Uganda. They are mainly small spaces. I love to visualize interiors and to photograph them too. But all this time i still get it hard to create a photo for a bathroom. Its really hard. I would request Justin you explain your phyisical camera settings that normally give you awesome results. This work is great
Thank you for your message and expressing your passion for interior design. I believe when it comes to both photography and Cinema 4d, composition, lighting and depth of field is the most important. Learn the rule of thirds, framing and symmetry when it comes to composition. Lighting is important because the lighting can evoke emotion and of course having a warm or cool hue to the light will help express that emotion that you are going for. With depth of field, experiment with shallow and deep depths of field to control what's in focus or specific artistic effects. Plus, you can always adjust your pictures with a post-processing/post editing software. Sometimes playing with different settings during editing, you can find some fun ways to portray your image. Yes, I will go over different camera setting and options, look for that video here in the next few weeks. As far as it being hard, I don't think it's been hard for you I just think you have high standards for yourself and you may become disappointed when you don't reach that standards. What's crazy is you have the ability to take that feeling of frustration and use that energy to drive you towards your goals. I believe you already are creating good photos but you're ready to make great ones. Going forward I would highly encourage you to tell yourself "up until this point, I was creating good pictures, as of now, I will create great ones." Saying this will separate yourself from your frustration and put you into a good head space. Once you're in a good headspace you can think clearly, once you can think clearly, your mind is free and you can focus more at the task at hand. You got this!
Stop this is so pretty wow wow
