They should have kept all these scenes.

This movie was great the storyline was beautiful and loved it.. it's just that the soundtrack was awful soundtrack to not fit synthesizers and electric guitars and it just didn't work. Should have used traditional instruments like Lord of the rings

Really love how the director used the song “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” in this movie. Not only did it represent Susie’s rise as the star of the group, but it also (1) foreshadowed the repetitiveness of the group’s poppy routines that ultimately made both Susie and Jack quit, (2) confirmed Jack’s assessment in a deleted post-audition scene that their audience wouldn’t care if she missed a note since she was super gorgeous, and (3) was an inside joke to Frank’s criticism at the cafe that Susie mistakenly sang a song verse twice (to which Susie shot back that nobody cared when she made that error).

The deletion of the first scene has a huge impact upon the film (for me). Suzi’s tap on her forehead (“Intuition”) then backed up by subsequent events is mimicked in the final scene by Jack to accompany “I am going to see you again” to Suzi on the street outside her flat. Quite upbeat really.
