This game is awesome! I still play it and have poured hundreds of hours into it! I just love running around the open zones and completing those platforming challenges! While the platforms are scattered around with seemingly no cohesion, I think they're still well designed and add to that mystery of looking AI generated, which helps with the backstory of Sage, and I don't mind the platforms being suspended above the ground, as I still think the game looks great. There's just something about it, the aesthetic and the music, and especially the story, that makes me want to keep playing it. The enemy and boss designs are stellar. The titan fights are highlights, though gameplay wise, they are really easy. I agree about Cyberspace, and I don't mind them reusing old levels as long as they are fun. I wish the combat was a little better, and Sonic's parry timing should be changed across each difficulty. It's bizarre that they didn't do it for Sonic yet for other characters they did. With the latest patch, the physics are better, it's less buggy, but the difficulty has been eased, which was in response to the complaints from fans, but I wish they did that as a choice, rather than replacing the previous difficulty. But despite that, I think this is better than Shadow Generations. I think it has the soul of an open world Sonic game. Though I do wish they'd further update it a little more, as it would be perfect for me. Do you think they'll still update or patch this in the near future? I'd love it if they could fix the pop-in. I can't believe it's been a year since the best Sonic game got the best update! I find all playable characters fun to play, though not as much as Sonic, of course. They made the platforming challenges much harder and more open-ended, less linear than previous ones, which were too simple and automated. The new ending is a mixed bag for me. But the story is even better than before. What makes this game better than others is that I think it does playable characters the best. It also doesn't waste your playtime with non Sonic gimmicks as much as otherSonic games, especially Adventures 1 and 2, and Sonic feels great and fast to control. I disagree heavily when people say it's a Breath of the Wild ripoff as while it's clearly inspired, it also has a lot of differences, and I think I like it more. I even like that some challenges make use of momentum and make you think outside the box. The puzzles are mostly not challenging, but more like movement exercises, and i don't mind doing them. Overall, a masterpiece ✨️ Yeah, I don't mind the reusing of level layouts as the new movement makes it feel different. I similarly don't mind the koco quests, with most being optional, as long as they're not too annoying or pacebreaking. The worst part is probably the pinball minigame or the laser puzzle or the crane task. Cyberspace looks exactly like Generations, but I do like how they at least added the digital effect to make it feel new. Also, I like the presentation. I think the animations are quite good in general, better than in previous games, and I don't mind the realistic artstyle. While it's a triple A game, I do wish there were some CGI cutscenes, but that's probably because of the day-night system, so everything runs in real-time. As I said before, I really liked Frontiers, and it was almost perfect. In my opinion, it can only get better, not worse. Forces, while I think it's very overhated, and I kinda like it, I also find it kinda hard to defend, and I feel it was the dip in budget and quality and passion, it terms of both gameplay, design, story, and presentation, even though I don't think it's souless or lazy like many say. Frontiers, to me, felt like a high budget game, even though some corners were clearly cut. Not to be a blatant hater, but I don't think we'll ever return to that dip of content in the 2010s, as while I think saying it was the definition of mediocrity is a bit harsh, I don't think you could get worse than that. The next mainline game might not always be better than the last, but at least it won't ever be of that quality, let alone worse. Frontiers might have been great, but it can only get better, and that's hard to imagine!

You talking about your interpretation of the game's story with the One Way Dream instrumental got me a bit emotional about the Sonic series. Despite the meddling of the industry with deadlines and stuff that caused a lot of issues, the game really does try to say something on multiple levels in speaking about humanity, and also itself as a game series on a meta level. Under the surface, it really is art. I really loved the video! Also, I'm so glad you went in on the DLC's level design (in the open zone and cyberspace), because while everyone else online was praising it I was left dumbfounded at how bad it was.

you have previously established in 2 other videos that you sleep with the lights on. However, at 21:26 you can be seen sleeping with the lights off. Please keep the canon consistent and rectify this creative decision in the next video to avoid further continuity errors.

I've somewhat convinced myself that Prime 4 will be a switch 2 launch (but cross platform) given how good it looks, how well it plays and the fact that its a flat 2025 release. As for the rest im an turn-based rpg enjoyer so M&LB, DQ HD-2D remasters, Saga2 remaster i'm all for getting. Fantasian i'll prolly pass on because i think it was an ios exclusive and it sure as hell looks like a mobile game port. Otherwise i do enjoy a good attorney game, phantom brave 2 because i enjoyed the first game and never thought they would make another one since it was originally released on the ps2, and the Marvel Capcom collections for no other reason then im nostalgic for MvC2.

I genuinely cannot wait for Prime 4, Prime 3 is my favourite game, so finally being able to play 4 after 15 years is going to be so emotional!

I don’t know, while I definitely prefer the detailed texturing of base 8, I almost found the style to be too pseudo realistic for Mario and I really enjoy the cartoonish aesthetic and bright popping colors of the tour style. It fits Mario better. However they could have definitely done a lot better with the textures.

I'm goad to finally find a video that crtiques the storytelling of side order, I can't play it myself because of lack of money but when I saw the full gameplay on youtube, I had a bad taste in my mouth, that elevator with credits didn't get me emotional at all, it made me feel bad because nothing happened, it was all just fun gameplay that I can't enjoy, that frustration is on me, but my frustration with being so hyped for Mizuna(Acht's real name) and then her having so importance in the story of the main game, it was all really boring and disappointing to see, I wish the Splatoon devs didn't hide so much story behind things like replaying over and over, secret things, I love secret things Splatoon does but this time it was a bit too much for me!

I feel it's important to note that the bridge in Yoshi Valley actually did exist in the original N64 version, but it was just a thinner section of road without railings instead of a bridge. While I agree with your standpoint that the existence of the bridge basically undermines the whole idea of the track, but it wasn't a new addition for the MK8 remake. I think if the bridge was broken & required a jump to get across or simply had a patch of off-road before it (kinda like that shortcut towards the end of Shy Guy Falls), it would've been a much better shortcut. I would also like to defend the shortcut's existence as a whole, at least in the N64 version. MK64 had very loose handling, especially on tight turns, and that thin patch of road served as a perfect risk/reward detail in the track. tl;dr - the bridge in Yoshi Valley existed in the original version, could've been better if shortcut was tweaked a bit. I agree with your opinion.

Personally, this is my list for the best track from each wave Wave 1: Choco mountain. Definitely not the best of the BCP, but the texture work honestly isn’t that bad! Wave 2: honestly, I love GBA snow land. The ice physics makes it so much fun, and the giant shortcut around the beginning is incredibly fun! And the texture of the ice road is actually really good! Wave 3: For me, I’d have to say the best track is DS Peach gardens. I absolutely love the music, and just the fact that they actually took the time to replace the low-poly flowers with the ones from MK8 make it gorgeous! And going the opposite way for the third lap really makes it a great track! Wave 4: *GBA RIVERSIDE PARK IS THE GREATEST THING EVER OH MY GOD!!!* (and yes, I am aware the plant models are still low poly) but aside from that, it’s an absolutely gorgeous track. The skybox has incredible detail, the sunset really gives it a beautiful atmosphere, and gives it such relaxing lighting. The little clouds of fog in the background make it beautiful, and the texture work. I seriously adore the textures on the rocks, road, and grass. Not to mention the animation for the waterfall, and clear river are just breathtaking. If not for the models being a bit lower poly, it seriously could’ve passed for a base game track. Wave 5: Seriously, I literally love Squeaky Clean Sprint. It follows a similar theme to GBA Ribbon Road, having you shrunken down to like an inch tall. I think the music is the best part though, which makes it such a relaxing experience. All the places you go through seriously make it a great time! I think as far as the gameplay goes, the underwater section in the bathtub is the best part. So yeah, really feels worthy of being a Nitro track for MK8 Wave 6: SNES Bowser castle 3. It looks phenomenal! Although I feel like the gameplay could’ve been just a bit better, the texture work carries this track. It might be the only track that truly feels at home with the base tracks.

Athens dash is amazing it is different and unique compared to other city tracks and it doesn’t feel bland with no straight long roads to me it feel likes an adventure driving through ruins tricking off stairs and it’s variety of shortcuts you should appreciate this track more

If Toad Harbour was #1, it would be a bit weird that the same mushroom-head created the best and worst tracks of the game.
