Welcome to GY6 Scooter Adventures. I purchased a 2023 Eagle 200 (168cc) GY6 Chinese Scooter and decided to record my many short trips on video, as well as some scooter talk. Anyone new to GY6 Scooters or those who enjoy riding them and/or work on them feel free to subscribe. I am sure I will have questions and answers as I go. Join me in my adventures as I see just how long I can keep this Scooter running. Can't beat the gas mileage, and it is such a blast to ride! I ride and record videos from May through September, when the riding is good in my area.

Feel free to like and subscribe. Any help would be appreciated as I am fairly new to GY6 Scooters. I could get on Facebook and ask for some help on a Scooter Group, but I really dislike Facebook :o This is the Eagle 200cc (168cc) Chinese Scooter with a little over 12hp. Running really good, just some slight start issues.

Stand or a exhaust spring
I just picked up a campark camera of the walmart website for $30. It's not the best but far from bad with 2 batteries, accessories and a mic. I had a nice one but one day it just stopped working. It is hard putting together videos.
I will check it out. My camera was also about $30 lol I have to take footage from camera and load it into my phone (which takes awhile) then edit the videos and upload them. Takes some time. An easier process would be nice. Although I do have this process down pretty good now 👍
Hi Jeff, you and I have the same scooter. I'm having a vacuum issue. May I email you, think you will be able to help.
Hey Jeff! Thanks for watching. I am pretty new to these scooters myself and have not had a vacuum issue yet. You might want to check out the GY6 Scooter group on Facebook, or the channels "I Fix Shet" and "Virberello Scooter Tips" on youtube. They have a lot of how to fix videos.
@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe I have a missing hose and can't find where it goes. Have some kind of multi-hose gadget with 1 bare connector and no loose hose. No visible connectors or loose hoses anywhere.
@@JeffsNewJourneys If you go to GY6 Scooter group on facebook, someone there can probably help you.
Having trouble starting mine I'd say still pretty new only 400/500 miles on it The Electric start doesn't start it over, and the kickstart isn't turning over any ideas?
I also have a new battery on it
I tried my kick start a couple times and does not seem to work. Could be a few different things. Check for spark on the plug first. A couple channels might help you out "I Fix Shet" and "Verberillo Scooter Tips" they have some how to videos
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe I appreciate the response I'll look into those channels
Eagle mopeds nice I got a Eagle EFI 200 ride good think I need a new exhaust tho I fell twice. Now I hear something loose inside my muffler
Sounds like you might need a new muffler. Thanks for watching 👍
😂farting sametime I did🤣🤣 you a wild dude
where did you get those mirrors? they look pretty good, thank you for your videos
Got the mirrors on Amazon. I can see much better with these compared to the stock mirrors the scooter came with. Thanks for watching 👍
When you plug your back tire, it's crucial to get home as soon as possible to change the tire. Don't fall for the misconception that "a plugged back tire will last a very long time." I once believed this until one warm day, while riding home at about 35 to 40 mph, the plug was torn out, and I ended up spinning 360 degrees because the tire deflated. So, please, if you get a flat and plug the tire, head straight home or to the nearest scooter shop to have it replaced. Be safe out there.
Thanks for the info Brian! Hopefully I won't have that issue, but I guess it will happen at some point. It would really suck having to replace a good or new tire, but safety first! Glad you did not get hurt 👍
I actually stopped carrying tools and things with me. If you get a genuine Gates Powerlink belt you really don't have to worry about it breaking. They do sell a variator holding tool for about $12 so you don't need an impact to change a belt. Ngk spark plugs usually don't go bad. I think having a battery for charging your phone or installing a usb plug is important. I make sure I check the oil weekly. A lot of it is preventative stuff. Most of the time when a part fails even if you have tools it can't be fixed. That being said it's better to have the tools than not. I just don't carry them anymore. Having AAA is the best. Also, you spelled channel wrong in your intro. Cheers man.
I do have a Gates belt, just not carrying one with me yet. I will have to pick that tool up though. I do sometimes take a small battery bank with me just in case. Yeah, if a part fails and you don't have a backup with you your out of luck lol I have some extra parts but once again, I keep them at home. Whoever made that sticker on my intro spelled "channel" wrong lol but no biggie. Have a nice week 🍻
Keep posting shout of from 🇬🇧 🏴
Hey what cam is? Nice ride and bike 👍🏼
Thanks for watching. It's a cheap $30 camera off Amazon
So you was buying drinks and driving 😂😂😂😂😂
Kachi's Kid is one of the coolest dudes out there. There's a lot of great people in the community. We only have one inspection out here and that's only if the bike is brand new or you are registering a 50cc. It's not even a safety inspection. There's nothing wrong with having a couple drinks and relaxing.
Just one inspection? Wow! I hate living in Pa. 😆 I think it should be "ride at your own risk" without inspections. I remember when I lived in Indiana, there was no inspection on even a car. I drove all kinds of rust buckets lol As long as the lights and breaks work.
Subscriber #39 here bro good to see you out riding and creating a brand new UA-cam channel on these cool GY6 SCOOTERS.....🙂👍
Hey Kevin. Been watching your videos a long time. Thanks for watching and subscribing 👍
Hey thanks for the shout out. Every one of us has something to offer. Dang man that's crazy. There should be requirements before people can become parents.
Hey no problem. I agree. I am kind of bewildered as to why no one has tackled this issue. I mean people need to study and pass a test to drive a car legally, but yet just anyone can create and raise children with no questions asked. Waiting until after the fact makes no sense, it just becomes someone else's problem.
Love the intro 👍 I might get one of those scooters next summer. Looks like you have some pretty nice roads to ride on
Yeah the main roads are usually good here, but some back roads not so much lol
Looks like your having a ton of fun! What is your top speed on that scooter?
Thanks for watching. 55 mph is my top speed on this scooter, fast enough for me.
😆 Don't want that pump going out on ya! Scooter is looking good. How many miles so far??
Thanks! A little over 500 miles
I had to drive an hour away with my bike on a trailer to take the DMV test. It was too easy to pass the test. I recorded and posted it. I wouldn't take a 2-3 day course for a scooter that's for sure. I make few scooter videos myself. Kachi's Kid, Rolling Wrench, and 49ccScoot are some really great channels.
Thanks for the info. I will check it out. I guess that might be an option if I can find or rent a truck and haul the scoot for a DMV test. That would be easier and faster than the riders course.
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe I was thinking about that. Depending on the truck it could cost a lot. Last I looked at Uhaul it was $40+ insurance and $0.89 a mile + the cost of fuel. I figured why do a 3 day course because you can fail the course and they send you home and keep your money.
@@thelagmeister I will play it by ear. See what the future holds in my area as far as testing. Yeah, I can't see spending too much money just to go take a test.
Kevin is the best! His videos relax me too bro.
I almost had a job pickin up bodies. I found out the pay was horrible. Something like $10 each to drive out pick them up. I was thinking I'm desperate but not that desperate.
😆 That is ridiculous. I think people that get paid to pick up road kill make more than that lol I know I have had my share of desperate jobs 🙄
I don't blame you for quitting. I wouldn't want to pick up dead bodies. Great video enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching. Yeah, I don't think anyone wants to do that type of work, unless they are getting paid enough to do so, and I was not lol
A actual 200 is 199cc so that motor might be a modified 150cc engine with EFI maybe a little bigger bore.
Thanks, yeah I think maybe just a little bore although I m not sure what the point of that was. It's not EFI though, it has a carburetor
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe ok a lot of the 200 they sell are EFI at least on the West Coast
Take the rides course it's a lot better then going to the DMV they charge riders course is free
Glad you fixed it. Hint: Always take brother Lags advice. Bro, I couldn't stop laughing at the "no shit" about the Honda. I'm going to be laughing all-day at that.
Glad you enjoyed the commentary 😆 I'm not spending 3 or 4k on a scooter when I only spend 1k or 2k on a car lol
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe Got that right!
Got your back bro, especially after singing the "Car Wash" theme. Lol. Good luck with your channel. Sub #24
Thanks for subscribing. Glad someone recognized that song lol 👍
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe 😆 No problem, I'll be watching. Bro, I still have the album.
Nice clip. I can't decide if I want a scooter or a China "sport" bike. I want both lol. Those are some nice country roads.
Thanks for watching. I went with a Scooter because I'm getting to old to straddle things 😄
My Eagle 200 is a 2023, red. Got it titled, tagged and insured today. Going to start my break in rides tomorrow.
Nice, sounds like you have the same make and year as my scooter. Make sure you change the engine and gear oil before riding and keep it below 40mph the first 300 miles.
Do you know what size nuts hold the exhaust to the engine? Both of mine vibrated off and need to replace them.
@@JeffsNewJourneys Your exhaust nuts fell off already?? Not really sure but you should find them on Amazon for 150cc gy6 scooters.
Just got a Eagle 200 efi like it so far!!
Congrats to you. Enjoy! 😎
My Vitacci Clash 200 has the same brake return spring.
Maybe you could bend out the last loop on the spring to try to get it to hook back on. Just for now.
Very good idea. I did get a couple lighter gauge springs today that I will try, if not I will try your idea. Thanks!
No prob. I'm glad you got it figured out. I prefer the other design. I've never had one of those springs go bad or fall off. That's the first scooter I've seen with a spring like that. Hopefully it's not a reoccurring problem.
Yes, lets hope not lol. If so, I will have to stock up on some Springs 👍
I bought the fiji200 XPro which in my opinion it is the same as yours they just change the names, but I have a question, does yours feels like it stops almost immediately if you let the throttle go?, can you please give me any tips or ideas on what can I upgrade or modify on my scooter to make it run better? I feel like even at full throttle it doesn't go pass 55, I bought it less than 2 moths ago and it barely has less than 300 kilometers since I assume the numbers are km and not miles, please help, thank you so much, and congratulations on your channel, greetings from Laredo Texas, God bless you.
Hi and thanks for watching. If I am going 50 and I let go of the throttle all the way , yeah it loses speed pretty fast. You might want to turn your wheels and make sure they are not rubbing on anything. Other than changing spark plug to an NGK plug and making sure there are no air or fuel leaks, I have not really done anything to modify my scooter. I am staying away from trying to put high performance parts on mine. I get up to around 55 but could probably go a bit faster after I do a valve adjustment, but I am waiting till I get around 1,000 miles or km before I do that, since the RPM's seem to be where they should be. Hope this helped, if not a lot of good scooter channels on here explaining stuff.
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe thank you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it. God bless you.
So how much does the rear brake lever move when you squeeze it? It shouldn't be very tight. Put the bike on it's center stand and spin the back wheel. There shouldn't be a lot of resistance. If it stops immediately you might need to loosen your rear brake cable. You want it where you can squeeze the lever about 3/4 of the way back and not have the lever touch the handlebar. If the lever is tight it might be engaging the rear brake all the time. Another thing to check is your tire pressure. 55 is basically what these bikes will go stock. They come with heavy roller weights to keep your rpm's down.
Hello, I have a SYM FIDDLE 4 200i and yes it slows down when you let off the throttle. I figured due to engine compression and the friction and gearing changes of the belt is the reason.
The starter clutch is a PITA to do. Hope it's the battery. When mine went bad it would kind of do the same thing but often was accompanied by loud metal banging sounds. You want to check your valve clearances. My bike would start every time just pushing the button. The carbs are cheap on these bikes. You usually just buy a new one. No rebuilding. Something to keep in mind the "fuel pump" isn't a pump. It's a vacuum actuated valve so it just might be starving for fuel because it starts fueling when you start cranking. It should idle up and drop down after a few minutes. If the idle is the same when you start it and the same after warm up it's probably the enricher.
Thank you. Hopefully I don't need to mess with the starter clutch yet. Not sure if that's what it is. The Battery is like new, only a few months of use. I do think the Enricher is not working, so just holding the throttle a few seconds till its warmed up. I do have a back up carburator I bought, but I am just waiting to change it out since the carb it came with seems to be set and working good besides the Enricher. I have not looked at the valves yet but seems they are set pretty well. RPM's are where they should be and runs good. After my first 1,000 miles or so I might check the valves out. I am thinking it probably needs a starter clutch, but since it is a new scooter I will try and hold off on pulling it apart, at least until it gives me issues starting. Right now it usually starts on the second or third try. Thanks for all the info
If you have a warranty, you should take it to the dealership and tell them to fix the junk they sold you. A Honda will run forever. The Chinese do not take the same pride in their work. It's a throw away system. I have a couple extra engines,a pile of brand new electrical parts that came out of the package not working. Good luck getting customers service to right any of those wrongs. I hope your experience is different than mine, but it ain't looking good. Buy a Honda. Good luck 🤞🏻. 😂
If your kickstand and center stand springs are still there, I don't think that spring belongs on your scooter. Get rid of that orange coil asap. Been there done that. You need an NGK plug c7hsa. Don't run a chinese plug. You should do a few oil changes in the first 1,000 miles. When you buy a replacement belt only buy Gates belts. Rolling Wrench and Kachis Kid are great channels for GY6 content. Check your oil frequently. When the bike is on the center stand and dipstick unscrewed it should cover half the xxxxxxx's. If it over filled it can overheat. I've had too many of these scooters. If you maintain them they will last a while.
Thanks for the info! Looking at a photo of my scooter on the webpage, it looks like the spring goes on the back near the rear break cable and beneath the shock next to the cvt cover. Not sure what it is for though. I am using the NGK plugs. Got a Gates belt as a backup, the original belt still looks new and it does say powerlink on the belt, so not sure if its a genuine gates belt but looks great so far. Only have about 500 miles on her but have done a couple oil changes. 👍
@@GY6ScooterAdventures-be2oe Sounds like you're taking care of it. You can also change the gear oil. I looked up the pictures of the bike it looks like the back brake return spring. You're gonna need to put that back on. It's weird because every scooter I've had had the spring on the end of the brake cable. If you are still under warranty you might be able to get them to send you some parts.
@@thelagmeister After watching a couple Motorcycle videos I ordered the spring. Should be the same size as the old one. I could not find any scooter videos showing that spring, or even see one on an actual scooter. I guess that would make a good short informative video for someone lol
I know you said its not, but I have that same exact spring on my side kick stand...Dan from I fix Sheit is a awesome person, Mc Donalds wants to charge 5 star restaurant prices for garbage food...
Thanks for the help. I will have to look it over again. I know the center and side stands still have a heavier gauge black spring on them, but maybe there were 2 springs on one of the stands? Dan is pretty awesome, he is always doing something interesting. The best part of McDonalds these days is the restrooms 👍 they are needed after eating one of those trash meals. Thanks for watching!
I’m contemplating buying a scooter in Florida can’t have 150cc or up without license so i got to get the 50cc until I get the license. What type of cam you used for this video? To kill the rolling shutter when I get some more I’d send ya a gopro
I don't know the laws in Florida , but I would think you could get a 150cc and ride with a permit until you get your license, unless you do not already have a regular DL. I still have to get my Motorcycle license. I am using a cheap camera, mainly for safety reasons in case of an accident. I figured Id post some videos with it as well. Not planning on investing a bunch of money on camera equipment. This video I added stability but I do not care for it. I will just keep the vids raw I suppose. Thanks for watching
Do you need motorcycle license for that?
Yes unfortunately. I am still waiting to take my test, just have my permit right now.
Thanks for the very nice ride! Beautiful out there. Audio could come up a little, hard time hearing you. Hope you do another ride by the river, love to see more 👍
Thanks for watching! Yes, need more rides down that way for sure
That's normal it's gotta catch to warm up few revs that's all
Thanks for the info 👍 I figured it would idle higher than it does when I first start it up, but seems to idle higher after it's warmed up
Did your order the Wonton or the Twoton? 😃
Haha Sesame Chicken and a few egg rolls
Yes, bad camera angle indeed 😆 but at least you kept the video somewhat entertaining.
