Приєднався 21 лип 2009
Save Mount Diablo is a nationally accredited land trust conservation nonprofit organization. Our mission is to forever preserve the remaining natural lands on and around Mount Diablo, and to protect Mount Diablo's connection to its sustaining Diablo Range. Since 1971, we and our partners have protected over 120,000 acres on and around Mount Diablo.
Diablo's Door: A Drive across California's Most Mysterious Mountain Range
A 60-mile drive along State Route 130 offers a stunning introduction to California's little-known Diablo Range.
Five times the size of Yosemite National Park, the range has healthy populations of elk, eagles, kit foxes, condors, and mountain lions. It could be vital to the survival of the region's native plants and animals in a warming world-if we can find ways to keep it wild.
Featuring Seth Adams, Doug Bell, Joseph Belli, Sean Burke, Patrick Kolar, and Kip Will. Videography by Isara Krieger, Kendall Oei, and Cooper Ogden. Still images by Scott Hein and others. Music by Phil Heywood. Writing, production, and narration by Joan Hamilton. Special thanks to Bruce Hamilton, Laura Kindsvater, and Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation.

Dublin Residents! Vote NO on Dublin’s Measure II!
Переглядів 13416 годин тому
The Alameda County Grand Jury Association judged Measure II MISLEADING and lacking clarity. Measure II is deceptively called the “Dublin Traffic Relief, Clean Air/Open Space Preservation Measure,” but if it passes, it would do precisely the opposite: more traffic, dirtier air, and less open space. With Measure II, the City of Dublin is trying to deceive Dublin residents. That’s why The Independ...

The Ginochio Schwendel ranch is 95 acres in the critically important Marsh Creek watershed. Marsh Creek connects Mount Diablo to the Delta and is the least disturbed creek in Contra Costa County. The ranch is home to unusual volcanic soils that support rare plants and wildlife. Make a gift to save the ranch today! savemountdiablo.org/time-critical-land-acquisitions/
Dublin! Vote NO on Measure II
Переглядів 1,4 тис.Місяць тому
Measure II claims to reduce traffic and preserve open space, but in reality it would increase traffic and destroy open space. It would allow giant distribution warehouses east of Fallon Road, huge truck traffic, and pollution. Dublin deserves better. I visited Mt Diablo summit today. I was really impressed at the effort that's been put in to create such a large park. On the way down, it was almost disappointing to see development at the base. We're lucky enough that this is public lands that anyone can enjoy. It would be disappointing to say the least if our future generations can't enjoy Mt Diablo the same way.
Mount Diablo is beautiful landscape I've been on top of the mountain over looking the the green hill sides and agree it should be preserved.
Great to see the beacon tonight, December 7, 2015! Great job!
That was really cute. Nice to see you all again last night. Thank you for all YOU all do!
Too sweet! You guys are great. Always a pleasure working with you. Love the video (and the theme song).
Thanks David!
Thanks so much for putting this video on UA-cam. I wish the very best in preserving the nature of his majestic mountain and its environs. Take care and be well...
Nice job, SMD! and a moving video to help explain what the beacon means.
I grew up going to mount diablo almost every week, one of my favourite places in the world.
ABSOLUTELY 💯 I TOTALLY AGREE WITH YOU 😇😎
I lived on the 'foothills' of Mount Diablo in Pittsburg. The street that I lived on was nicknamed 'heat attack hill' because it was so steep. I miss living there and walking my dogs in the foothills. I am a member of 'Save Mount Diablo'.
Please donate to help restore the historic Eye of Diablo! Link at the bottom of the video description.
We're so glad you like it! We really wouldn't be able to do it without you! Thank you for all of your dedication!
Wow, I love it! What a great idea. I love you guys, too! :)
What a clever way of saying thank you. It's always a pleasure to work with each one of you to help make our (yours and my) world a better place and for everyone to enjoy in their future!
I'm so glad you liked it, Michael! It's such an impressive feat that you all accomplish. Our work wouldn't be possible without the support of people like you that love Mount Diablo! Our cyclist volunteers did a great job getting this video and putting it together (like Karen Perry!). Thank you very much for your feedback, Michael! I hope we'll see you again next year!
I've been horseback riding at Mount Diablo, & I think we have a civic duty to preserve the WHOLE MOUNTAIN so our returning Soldiers can have a place to heal. For those who have lost limbs put them up on the horses so they can have their freedom back SAVE MOUNT DIABLO If you are a Christian read Matthew 5-7 clearly you will know this is what Jesus would want. Jesus went up a mountainside & said You are the light of the world-like a city on a mountain let good deeds shine Mt Diablo-MT AGAPE
We try to work with as many organizations and individuals as we can because it definitely takes a whole community to save the Diablo Wilderness. If you know of anyone interested in working together on a project for Mount Diablo's natural lands please let us know. Thank you for your time and help!
The message is loud and clear! Vote NO on Measure F on June 8th.
