That Dam Guide
Netherlands
Приєднався 27 жов 2019
That Dam Guide is a small, independent tour company based in Amsterdam started by me, Mark, in 2013. I offer private walking and driving tours. Walking in Amsterdam, and driving tour beyond. In April there are tulip tours to Keukenhof Gardens and tulip fields. For most of the summer we also visit remote windmills and non-touristy towns and countryside.

Amsterdam Tulip Fields Tour in North Holland
Watched the replay . I live in CT and don’t know how you cope with Durban 😅 but guess after Amsterdam its great !!!! Interesting as haven’t been there for years
I’m loving the heat!
The monkey video is so adorable
Missed the live, but had fun watching the replay. I’ll take a walk or ride along a beach promenade any day! Thanks for the waves, Mark 🙂
So much fun!
Nice romp with Lee on a pretty pathetic scooter. No electric tandem bikes? Was disappointed no light show tour this year. Is your boat in that bad shape?
Just watching the beginning of this tour now nuce to see my favourite coffee spot De Koffie Schenkerij..lol the bells of the fiets keep going😅. My first place i lived was a hotel in Amsterdam on the Leidseplein. 25 euro a night i had a single room share bathroom 2005.
I Love Amsterdam. I spent a dew nights alone there with a guide from Heygo a few years ago…very hush hush. He was Canadian!
Love your breezy, informative videos. Back in Mokum in April for King's Day.
Sorry I missed your stream again, Mark. Hopefully I will catch the next one. I haven't been on my computer much this week due to illness.
Loved the new mode of transport- even more because Lee was riding with you! Thanks to both of you for the fun 🙂
@16:03 - re the Portugese Synagogue. Visited there a couple of years back and was yelled at by a man fixing a set of ceiling lights for not having my head covered. Good job I had my woolly hat in my pocket! Could this mean that I am the only gentile ever to be shouted at in a synagogue? It won't stop me vising the Dam again this April for King's Day!
Yes nice brief pictures but a nice explanation accompaniment would be much more helpful. This only gives the most basic idea.
The statements about the counter culture being a protest against the older generations wholesale collaboration with Nazism is weak to say the least. Otherwise a great intro
Yes, you are quite right, I should rather have mentioned the post war prosperity, better education, secularisation and rejection of pillarisation and the rebellion against conservatiove parental vfalues. All this coupled with the global counter-culture movement, second wave of femism, sexual and social revolutions that were happening at the time. It was difficult making this summary video as there is so much to say about every period but yes, I agree, I got thye emphasis wrong on this point!
Such fun! Thank you. Didn’t get out of hospital soon enough to watch live but v glad to catch up. Everything crossed for us all in 2025 PollyB xxxxx
Going back to Mokum in April - always love to visit.
Very frustrating to be too late to get ALL the correct arch Aanswers!
Lovely tour again, Mark, thank you. Great to spot the giant owl on the roof. Stay well for Christmas and New Year. Polly x
Happy Holidays! Yes, there is much to celebrate! See you in 2025.🎉
Thanks for the great tour. Mark.
Thanks for venturing into the cold to bring us this fun and lively tour filled with warmth 🙂
Missed the live again :-(
So much fun! You and Lee always find the quirkiest and cutest items at markets 🙂
Ofcourse David Bowie is at the Christmas market😂Lee do u have your Christmas dec Bowie i gave u last the year still?
Oh bummer missed it live..had to go to work .Look forward to watch laterrrrr xxxx❤
Happy Holidays 🎄☃️⭐️
Hello!
Another excellent video. I'll be returning to the Dam (for the umpteenth time!) in April '25. I love the slow, unhurried pace of these knowledgeable pieces - so unlike the "rushed" see-it-all-in-20 mins" efforts by lesser posters.
Thanks, Mark, for another fun exploration!!!
I keep missing your lives! :-( Really happy that it is available in recording :-)
The big Delft shop, is it online?
Here it is: www.antique-tileshop.nl/en/
Loved this tour- exploring little shops with Mark is always super fun!
Love the telephone buildings stories
Cigarettes and controlled breathing lol you 2 are the great comedy tour thankyou Do have to say thry remind me a bit of cigarettes too Mark
Lol that was exactly my thought that the seagull might grab Pixies swishy tail there😅
thanks for these, casual or detailed they just make me want to live in Amsterdam again. lived there in the 90s and had some goede tijden en slechte tijden😃
Love this guy's videos. Am going back to Mokum in April for King's Day. Great!
Great, me must definitely meet up, let's plan that well in advance.
Oooo another Uniqlo lol..i always shop in our one here too Lee
OMG What a beautiful sight you 3 & Amsterdam backdrop what more could one ask for❤ Pixie that sweater is ADORABLE ❤Love youuuuuu
Thank you Mark and Lee, great to see you together again. Although a tandem bike always comes to mind! Pixie looked lovely in her woollen jumper.
Another wonderful tour...
What an extra special treat to have Lee and Pixie on the tour! So very beautiful!
Hi Mark and Lee you all look cute
I loved this fun and relaxing tour- with special guests! Great to see Lee and Pixie, and to have Lee tell us about the light works. Thanks, Lee 🙂
Sad to miss you last Monday…well worth the wait to watch the recording. Thank you
I love these casual walks with you Mark, thank you so much for still doing your virtual tours.
Great camera work and commentary! Seamless transition to pre-recorded video to see the inside of buildings and courtyards which aren't open at the time of the live tour or where livestreaming is not allowed and/or there's no signal. Thanks for sharing your vacation time with everyone!
Thank you, enjoyed this very much.
A masterpiece of compression. If you want to watch just one short introduction to the finest town in the world, this is it. Enjoy!
So nice to see this area around Christmas time, Thank you ❤
Thanks for the fun tour! Nothing says winter like ice skaters!
