United States
Приєднався 5 жов 2020
I have a Home Studio, and it's my happy place. So guess what I named my channel! I'm not a professional musician of music producer, so my home studio is probably the same as yours! On this channel I'll share all my successes and mistakes, and share info you might find useful about my gear, recording, renovating, and oh yeah - every once in a while playing! It's good to learn from experts but sometimes it's fun to slug through the mistakes of a fellow amateur! My name is Kenton, welcome to Happy Place Home Studio!

Thanks so much for the informations given in this video. It's my first lesson of how to set up the mixer thou.Great job.
Well Johnnnn Or Jimbo or hank or whatever you yanks call your children these days listen : I appreciate your time I do, you took your personal time to make this video and ya know it is good that folks like you do that but euhm......what you explained Jimbo well that is sort of what I figured out already with just spending 3 single seconds reading the euhhhhhh MANUAL !!!!! Euhm so my advice : when you make a video then ask yourself the question : What is it that people NEED to know and perhaps another question : What am I about to say in the video : is it or is it NOT information every primate with half a brain can figure out themselfs, now IF you ask those questions Jimbo then it can and it WILL give you a LOT more time to do other things because UA-cam these days it is BAD man !!!! And for SOME reason : the MORE devices you primates get and buy and the MORE internet connectivity you enjoy the LESS information you put out .... the JUNK that I find on UA-cam is STAGGERING Jimbo anddddd like I said I appreciate your time but do me and ESPECIALLY yaself a favor : next time : ask yaself these questions and if ..................... IF you have information that WE need to know then sure make that video but this Jimbo ? No this is just a waste of YOUR time and ours ! Carry on ! Keep rocking
Couldn’t see what you were doing on the board 😢
I should have had the camera at a better angle, or multiple cameras. I unfortunately have no way to add more video to this particular upload, but I'm going to do a separate video as an update with a second camera overlaid.
Good morning, thank you for making the very informative video. I'm not clear on one step, can the white fx/aux 2 knob handle both functions at the same time? Let me explain: if there are monitors connected to the aux2 output on stage and I operate the white knob, do I raise/lower the channel signal or increase/decrease the effect? I understood that I can only route the effect to the aux1 output. I hope I have explained myself clearly and thank you in advance for your reply.
How do you get different effects to the different inputs? You didn’t show how.
I'm afraid I misspoke on this point (now I sound like I'm running for President). You can't get different effects on multiple channels. You can only control the LEVEL off effecrts if you are applying the effect to more than one channel. You can of course change the effect you are using during a performance, but this becomes tricky if you are using the effects on multiple channels.
Watched a lot of videos on seti g this up. Yours by far was most informative. Got me up and running. Thank you very much!
You are most welcome, thanks for your comment!
Analog
I give Brian 10 out of 10 stars. 👍
Great job Kent! As you know I have the MG10XUF and this helped me better understand how this awesome tech works!. Thanks bro!
Active Melody is single handedly responsible for making me a good home guitar player. I now understand the fret board, much more theory than I ever did and can Improvise so much better. I can now pull up a song I like and not just strum the chords but create a part that fits the song which makes playing so much fun. AM RULES
Amen Brother!
Tune that thing
That's the spirit brother
Awesome! Thank you so much!!
thank you!
All the pros mainly don't use these only the bedroom guys. So why are they making them harder & harder to use.
Hey Jade thank you for the comment. There was a time when the pros recorded on reel to reel tapes, and now virtually none do. Many pros OO use technology like the Helix. I agree you won't find the superstars from the 90's and before using a Helix, but I think it is a godsend for the many professionals playing small venues and clubs that have a tiny crew. There are a lot of videos on Helix showing experts trying to tell the difference between analog gear and the Helix, and they usually can't. As far as difficulty, it is hard for me personally to judge because I'm so used to technology. I'm trying to make it less difficult to get starte at least!
Great video Kent!
Great job
A brilliant site and a brilliant teacher. Member for just over a year.
Good job sir. Thank you. I am not a member for lots of reasons but Brian is an excellent teacher. I taught college/university for 36 years and he is excellent. Even though I don't always understand everything he is trying to teach I ALWAYS learn a lot. I am not blessed with a musical talent so I have to do most thing mechanically. I still get musical ideas that I hope to be able to do one day. THANK YOU Brian for helping a less talented music lover to accomplish some of his dreams.
What if I put my song on Distrokid and don't know it's copyrighted? Will the song be deleted or an account on Distrokid be deleted?
Great Question! I will give you a preliminary answer but also research further. If you upload your own original work that you have not copyright for, there is probably no ramification other than your work is not protected and could be ripped off. If you upload the work of others or a cover of others work that is copyrighted, you may face consequences. What I’ll check into is whether Distrokid has automated processes that would catch a copyright violator, as UA-cam does. Thanks for the Q!
@@happyplacehomestudio375 thank you💓
Best tutorials for blues available anywhere. More than just a nice original song to learn, but skills to own and grow from… no other UA-camr does this
Hello. I didn't quite understand if the lesson courses at the bottom of the weekly lessons are an additional cost?
Hi, most of the lessons are in 2 parts, on separate videos. The first part is free to all. The second part requires the subscription. The 2nd part also includes a lot of other content such as the backing tracks, tabs, etc. Very, very well worth the annual membership. Check is out at www.activemelody.com. Thanks for watching!
I'm glad you figured out that the backing tracks are indeed downloadable :) My favorite plus is #4 You Actually Learn! Yes, I couldn't agree more, it is true 100% at least for me. I have watched thousands of online tutorials but I always run back to Brian's lessons to actually learn and enjoy his teaching style, his lessons have all we need to learn to play and understand music. Very nice and laid back review 🙂👍
Active Melody (Brian) presents his lesson in an uncomplicated but not always simple way. I feel like I learned something I didn't know before and can play something I was able to before. That's the mark of a good teacher.
Brian is the best.
He is the best online.
Brian would like this...
