In Search Of Something Good At The End Of Summer
The summer's tail end was the least desired as the prevailing NE winds hampered most of my fishing results. This video was actually the end of a decent run of weather that ended on September 15. Although there has been reports of stripers being caught, they haven't shown up in my area yet and hopefully, the big pods of peanut bunker and mullet will still be in the area when the winds turn favorable. After all, it is only the beginning of the fall season and the great fall run is still ahead hoping will stay all through mid-December. For now, i think it’s time for me to set up my newest rod and reel setup, which I assembled specifically for the Tog action on the rocks. See you out there, and thanks for watching my videos.

Last year I caught 69 fluke 1 blue and a sea robin after work on a Wednesday. Only 1 keeper at 18 but all shorts the rest of them. Still a great day.

Caught some keepers at that same canal last week, but the flesh was stained w black blotches when I fileted them. Read that the blue mussels that the canal tog eat discolors the meat. Said they were safe to eat, but I couldn't get past the visual. Same at the nearby inlets? Nothing like that at the OC MD inlet nor at the IRI in DE that I also frequent.

Exactly right one of my biggest bummer trips. I tried every lure in my arsenal to no glory! It's officially Thanksgiving weekend. The whistle blows today Wednesday at 4:00 PM and I'm heading to the beach every morning till Sunday. Maybe I'll see ya'll out there!

What do you use to catch stripers?
Stripers have been in that location since the spring. They are still there, in the river and out front.
Lately I see them bringing up baitfish, but by the time I re-rig they're gone. I'll keep trying. They got to be coming around the beach again.
Have you caught bigger one . Then the ones you’re catching?
Yes, but not every trip.
Maybe you lost that 1st fish because you didn't actually set the hook. You just kept reeling after it grabbed it.
