Carroll Quigley (1910-1977) was a highly esteemed professor at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He was also an instructor at Princeton and Harvard. As a consultant, he made contributions to the U.S Dept. of Defence the House Committee on Astronautics and Space Exploration, and the U.S. Navy. Quigley's other works include 'Evolution of Civilisation', and his major tome, 'Tragedy and Hope: A History of the World in Our Time'.
