Why is the pour over method so inconsistent? Why do my brews stall or flow right through and end up under extracted? Is my grinder producing too many fines, is it my pouring technique or did I forget to accommodate for the Ethiopian beans producing more fines? What if there was a way to guarantee flow rate and grind as fine as I want to at the same time? Well wait no more! The first method to l...

      Hi, that's a good question. I know there's such a thing as a red espresso made using rooibos tea. As far as other teas you may have to grind them.

      I’m down for trying tea in this. I’d imagine you’d have to dial in the grind size and time, just like with traditional espresso. Also, the water temperature might be slightly cooler so as not to extract too much of the bitterness.

    Is it any closer to a real espresso than the pressurized basket with coarser grind?

    • @123romanr
      @123romanr 24 дні тому

      It depends on how much prey you can put on your AeroPress. The more force the finer the grind. If you can produce 100lb it will be getting very close to 9bar espresso.

    most useful tips which makes using the aeropress plunge much easier, and preheating the Joepresso filter in hot water for preinfusion works, thanks! My tip is to use an aeropress paper filter instead of the metal screen, and place the white seal on top of the paper filter before use!

    Mr Coffee has this grinder even cheaper with the exact same core design. I shimmed it using layers of foil and you can check how close the burrs are by using a flat driver or stick and move the burrs through the chute. I have it down the last last sheet of foil before the top and bottom burrs touch. Even with that closeness, this grinder still isn't perfect enough for espresso. The block-type flat burr of this grinder has a lot of weakness, one of which is inconsistency. Even with the mod, I get super fine powder mixed with coarser grinds.

    Completely agree with your comments. I don't understand the fascination in light roasted coffee for espresso. It tastes dreadful and I wonder if people actually like or just pretend to. Put that in a non pressurised system. Espresso is about density , mouthfeel, and body. Great video

    I asked on another video, so I hope you don't mind me asking again: How is this different than the Prismo AeroPress® Attachment? I'm seriously curious, because I have a Prismo and I'd love to buy this, if it gets me closer to the actual espresso taste.

    • @srcze
      @srcze 2 роки тому

      Here you have a tampered puck of coffee. With Prismo you don't, it's just Aeropress immersion brew with a valve. Theoretically and technically tampered puck makes it espresso.

    How is this different than the Prismo AeroPress® Attachment? edit: I realize the difference: The prismo mixes the coffee with the water before squeezing out the water. Joepresso squeezes the water through the coffee, as an espresso machine.
