    Thank you for the video. You are correct about the accidents. I run a 492 mile round trip dedicated route. Before Covid I averaged 1 accident a day. After Covid now it's 2 accidents a day. People are driving too close and too fast. My truck has collision avoidance sensor. On I-95 in SC, average speed of cars is 87 MPH. The highest I read was 116 MPH. Glad to hear you are picking up more miles.

    I drove for nine years. InNovember I was stuck in a fatality crash right in front of me. And then in January, I had a close call on a mountain. So I am done driving.. I haven’t worked for almost 6 months but luckily, I saved money while I was on the road… I might go back to school

    May your mothers memory be eternal. There’s a wonderful little prayer that goes all the way back to the Aposltes in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18. It’s called the Jesus Prayer. “Lord, Jesus Christ, have mercy on me (us)” Say it whenever your mind starts racing and the thoughts will fall away and peace will come.

      Rand-McNally Motor Carriers Road Atlas. Bridge Law is explained in chart on page A 15 This is a federal law, is the same in all 50 states. Figures shown are MINIMUM lengths that a load is spread out. Example, 80,000 pound load on 5 axles must be 51 feet OR LONGER FROM FIRST TO LAST AXLE. It has NOTHING to do with the 41 or 43 foot figures that the OP is referring to.

    I’m actually leaving Crete this next load, I have 400 mile runs but deliver late so if you only have to drive a few hours you’re still parked for over 15 to 20 hours. It’s probably great if you’re young and a gamer that likes sitting at truck stops but that’s not for me.

    Hello, my name is Ken, and I am a former OTR (10yrs) and Local (2yrs) driver. I have never driven an automatic and have not driven in 12 years. A lot has changed and I say it is for the better. I was always on the 10/8 HOS, and I will tell you the new HOSs are so much better; including the ELDs. To be honest I would sit in docks 2-6 hours after deadheading to pick up and then drive 10-12 hours straight. I was constantly fixing my paper logs. Additionally, I would get home on Frinight-or Sat morning and have a load due in Toronto for a 6 AM delivery Monday morning. Big and small companies, all the same in turn a blind eye, but push and push; yet if you had an accident or ticket it was all your fault. I like the new systems, you get your rest, you can earn a decent income, and you are protected by the ELD. Yes, 2500-3000 ( Not really possible running North East) miles a week should be the norm, not under stress, but the norm.

      To continue. lol. My driving habit and lifestyle led to poor health, mainly because of personal ignorance. It's not like I was going to get out at 2 AM in S Chicago and go walking for exercise; maybe running for my life, but not walking for exercise. Do me and yourself a favor. When at a safe location and you have time, stretch and go for a walk, as much as possible. Additionally, don't ask or want more than 70 hours. It will slowly burn your life away, including your health; leading to irreversible health conditions. You, have a very nice husband, and you can tell he really loves you, but also talks with respect when he is addressing issues about you. Awesome to see. Anyway a lot more to say or talk about, but I am not trying to write a novel. lol God Bless.

    They shouldn't have cut your pay 16¢ a mile like that. I was on the SE KC dedicated route for a year until Bo the terminal manager decided that since i was later delivering about 2 or 3 loads because i had to get bald tires or brakes changed that previous drivers neglected to do, and i sent msgs letting them know the reason for the delays. Ken is only there from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. but it was always later in the day or at night when i would get these trailers needing work, so the msgs went to after hours people and it seemed like they weren't getting to Ken the next morning and Bo harped at me that I have to follow up with Ken the next morning, which I found out that I actually don't because they can see the msgs. He wanted to take me off of it before somebody over him or at KC said something. I asked to be put on the SE regional but they didnt have any openings for drivers that were out for 12 days, only for 18 days, so they found a place for me on rhe mid south regional route. I was on it for only 2 months and i did not like it and told them on the Wed. before ivwas headed home thatcweekend that i needed to be on the SE regional route. The next day they said that there was a spot for me and i would be switched over when i headed back out from hometime. When i went from the KC route to the mid south one i went from .53 cpm to .56, and while i was on the mid south route they had me help run 2 loads out of the Cheyenne WY Walmart DC where they have the dedicated account. While i was doing that i got an extra .02 cpm, putting me at .58 cpm. When i changed to SE regional my pay stayed the same even though the starting pay for it is lower, so they shouldn't have done that. You need to talk to somebody and tell them that you need more cpm because you're worth it. I would've met them in the middle and told them that i need at least .61 cpm if they want me to take a paycut. That:s not right. Watch out and be sure you're letting them know of any delays from trailer issues, which you will probably see a lot of on that account.

  • @user-og1se9qm8b
    @user-og1se9qm8b 9 місяців тому

    The trailer axles in this video are at the 42' mark, because you put the rear axle center at the mark, not the center of the axles. You need to nove them up one foot to be legal in every state except CA, which is 40'.
