Finnish Sauna: Introduction (30-day challenge)
Переглядів 27 тис.3 роки тому
Last summer I did good old wood-burning sauna bathing for 30 days. I have never spent nearly as much time in sauna before and the results were notable. In this video I also tell a bit about the history of sauna and some mythology behind it. NOTE: I had a few off-days in the middle due to hot weather but I made sure to get the 30 days full by doing a few extra days at the end of the challenge. I...

Great video. Really appreciate you making this for us.

I love this video. It reminds me of myself. All the attempts and thinking and annoyance
Hahahah cheers
Dude, you are great at making videos. I don’t normally comment but this was truly one of the best videos I’ve seen on UA-cam in years. Great job and great job on the challenge. I will be starting to take an ice bath in the next few days and trying to get inspired!
Wow, thank you. Humbled to hear that ☺ good luck on your ice bath journey!

Decaf can have anything from 0,2g to 20g caffeine in a cup. Be careful you are not just fooling yourself.
Please please more videos. They're a must. Thanks
pronounce sauna correctly before making a video about it. 🙄 luulis, että osaisit kun ralli-Lontoo tuntuu sujuvan 😤
I'm 'on the road' to quitting caffeine to see if it cures a number of issues I have been having with my skin aha. It'll be ironic if the cause of the last 10 years of issues will be the cause of coffee - my skin was perfect before. Anyway......in the lead up to quitting, one adjustment I have made is to cut my cups of coffee down to 2, and no coffee/caffeine after 11am. What a difference!! My energy levels are significantly higher, and I am now sleeping much better. I'll be finished the last of my coffee inside a few days, and then its caffeine free from then on!!
How’s it going for you?
Would it be possible to hold a conversation with you? I believe you can help me with something. Looking forward to your response!
I'm glad you are like me and needed multiple tries to quit, lol. I have failed probably 30 times to quit coffee but if i keep trying i think i will succeed eventually
37 days off of caffeine/coffee drinking Teeccino herbal coffee instead, and the best way I can describe how I feel is how I felt when I was a kid and I could just wake up naturally. I like it
I DISAGREE WITH THIS AND I AM A TELEMARKETER THOUGH SO IT'S A DIFFERENT LINE OF WORK. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO THOUGH
Caffeine is a beast. It’s literally everywhere, people give it to you for free, it’s addictive, it stops you from sleeping properly, it causes anxiety and depression, and it destroys your nervous system. I seriously wish caffeine was never a thing. The world would be a more peaceful place without stimulants.
🥰
Day 5 drinking Teeccino, (they even have a UA-cam Channel) I seem to have a low flu like symptom. Is it normal when quitting coffee?
Thanks for the tip! Flu-like symptoms are normal, so don't worry :)
@@joonavirtanen thank you, they didn't last very long, I'm on week 2 and things are settling down a little

Discovered your channel when I watched the video about Jiro Ono. I hope you're having a great time in Spain. You should keep making content again! Subbed!
Thank you very much. Life has a weird way of taking you into a direction you didn't see coming, and my return to videos isn't anywhere near in sight. Other projects just interest me more right now. But I have a feeling that one day I shall come back in one form or another :-)
True! When I came to Barcelona in January 2015 for my Internship, I was supposed to stay just for one year! I'm in my 8th year now, so I agree entirely with what you said about life. 😂 Whatever it is you are doing, keep it up! @@joonavirtanen
Anxiety
loved it.
I'm down to two cups of tea now. When I was young I would drink 8-12 cups of tea. I often ended up with cold sweats. According to Hubermann your brain create more adenosine receptors as you drink more caffeine, but this only works for a while and eventually you'll crash because all your adenosine chickens come home to roost at the same time :) I'm thinking about quitting tea as well since I don't really experience any benefits other than the fact that I like the whole tea ritual. Tea has antioxidants but do we need it is another question. According to fitness science you're not supposed to take supplements that contains a lot of antioxidants before or after working out because it inhibits the natural inflammatory response to a workout. Tea also contains fluoride which sounds nice but the fluoride isn't supposed to go to your stomach. Tea may also contain heavy metals just like dark chocolate. It's funny, caffeine absolutely worked when I was in my twenties, but by the time I was thirty it had lost most of its effect. Now I don't get any effect other than messing up my sleep if I drink tea or cola too late in the evening. Dark chocolate also contains caffeine.

Fantastic video brother !!!!
I am three weeks caffeine free today . Stopped buying and making decaf at home now …I buy it out only because I’m tired of the tether altogether . I have to leave my house to get it . I’m determined to be done with it .I went one day water only , by noon the withdrawal was hitting hard even for decaf . Wow.

Wow thank you very much, go red wings!
I found coffee more addictive than cigarette !
I was actually looking for a video just like this - about the myth and spirituality of the sauna. I did not expect it to find it in this video title but something made me click anyway. Great video, many thanks
from the shadow I can tell it's not one hour.
60 minutes? that‘s unbelievable
Good luck on your journey!
Cool video!
I only drink caffeine “coffee” once a week on leg day 💪🏼lol
Yeah, no thanks. I am not gonna waste my life like that.
I’m half Finn…and now an old man… sauna has long been part of my life though regretfully not as often as might have been. Those who have known it can understand what you have so ably captured. Those who have not cannot imagine the experience you describe… but you tell it well and you tell it truthfully…if taking sauna were one of the last experiences of my life I would leave with a fuller sense of completeness….kiitos paljon…
