BMW M5 E60 Muffler delete. Before and after, raving and burnout Best sounding BMW M5 ever!!! I only removed the 4 mufflers left the Cat's and resonator as is. No drone when driving the car at all, when driving slow you nearly notice the exhaust but when hitting it it turns in to an absolute racing monster.

@@jimoiasagashvili9492These idiots think backpressure matters on an engine which is literally trying to breathe as much as it possibly can hence why it has 10 individual throttle bodies for each cylinder and revs to 8,250rpm.
Just this past week i did what I call a "1/2 muffler delete." I didn't want it too loud so I had the shop take out 2 of the 4 mufflers back there - one from each side. It's a good sound now and it was only $150 bucks and very easy to go back to stock if I ever want to sell it..... But let's get real...sell this car???? they'll have to pry it from my cold dead hands one day....lol

Do you have a big consumpt and remove thermostat ? I have a problem with my m5 e60,consumpt 35L/100km,on inpa I see code error thermostat...I remove tomorow...
Marko Official switch to the Motorad 880090 thermostat and switch your oil to 5w50.
If you are changing just the thermostat, you DO NOT have to touch anything on the front of the engine. I just changed mine last night.

Were you doing maintenance as well? Like belts and stuff? I just did an e60 m5 thermostat today and you really don't need to take any of that shit off, just the hvac shrouds, pop up the plenum like the video, and suck the coolant out with a vacuum system, no mess, no lifting. The air boxes do not need to come out to do the thermostat, nor the belts, nor the fan.

Thanks man. A lot of people in my area don't know what an M5 is, but when they take a trip with my car and showed them what you can do with it PLUS how it sounds, everybody is blown away.
I just did this to mine, cold starts are very loud....a little embarrassing imo. Under load acceleration sounds great. I notice some drone at around 2300 rpms (55-60mph)

@@user-yc7zb4cj4x I don’t own it anymore, swapped for an X5M. Haven’t done any mods to that. Regarding embarrassing, I am referring to waking up the neighbors and being “that guy.”

Are you still liking it? I just picked up a m5 and need to do something to the exhaust. Just scared it will be ridiculously loud on the highway cruising at 70mph...
It's not too bad on the highway if you just drop the mufflers. If you pull the resonators it starts to get annoying.

I had my mufflers deleted on my 2010 e60 m5. I love the pops and cracks. However, I'm debating if I should remove my resonators. I don't mind the drone. Would just like to increase the volume. Nice mod bud nice e60 m5 from a fellow beast owner 👍
Hi Dr Mantis, I am not sure if removing the resonator will increase the loudness of the exhaust. I am quite surprised that you don't think its loud enough :-) LOL But I am sure if you straight pipe it from the headers, you will not drive by anybody unnoticed. The bad thing would be the fault codes that pop up due to the missing cat's. If you decide to take the resonator out of the equation, ;et me know if its even better or not. M5 is a beat and should be heard !!!! :-)
Bas Everts couldn't agree with you more on how the s85 should be heard. I've been on the m5 forums researching about the resonators. Some members says that the sound is atrociously loud at high rpms with no noticeable power loss. Power loss would be my only concern. I believe one can experience power loss with a primary cat delete. I'm leaving the cats alone lol
There are more video's where the intake manifold has been removed, but every time these guys put it back together I see that the manifold is not completely inserted and this might give you fault messages in regards to the vacuum. You have to fully insert the intake manifold correctly. I struggled with one of them and found why it is hard sometimes. Look at the imprint of the rubber seals at each intake port. sometimes the seal doesn't line up and no way you will get it fully inserted then. Hope this will help you guys too :-)
Bas Everts I removed both manifolds when I replaced my throttle actuators and it takes a bit of ability and a lot of common sense and patience to get them back on properly. Nothing to be intimidated about...just do it.
Man you have to take it apart. You will see it as you do it yourself. The fan has to be removed otherwise you can't take the tension of your belts. Clearly Ilya never worked on an M5 before
i have worked on many of these i have an m5 and an m6 im actually changing the water pump and thermostat today. your doing the repair wrong pal. you need to remove the plenums, air filter and cabin filters. Strut bars. Then the thermostat comes out. For water pump, i drain coolant. Pull fan release tension undo water pump. Install new water pump with new pulley and new belts. Reassemble all of it and your done.
now my question is . . . . why the hell is the fan off, there is like no reason to remove it :?

How could you lift the manifold up with out loosening the 10 clips on the throttle bodies. I'm working on it but i get to only two clips not all 5/ any tips please

You can excess all 10 of them, just try some different angles.

oh yeah its way better, you won't regret this. My car is slightly loud during a cold start but as soon as the car starts to heat up it a perfect sound. Enjoying it every day :-)

With removing the muffler you will not get any messages pop up. You do not change anything on your emissions. I left the Catalyzers in plus my resonator. I payed 360 dollar all in for this mod, it really worth it. I would not recommend to buy a "sport" muffler, because the engine sound is just hard to beat. Its so awesome driving around like this!
