Definitely knocked this casting choice out of the ballpark! I think Christian Bale could have worked as well, but Keanu Reeves is the right choice for so many reasons. I like actors that are extremely devoted to their roles / characters - and I could definitely see Reeves getting off on playing Shadow and not hesitating to come back for future projects if he’s asked to do so.

Alastor made a deal with someone where he isn't in control. He must of done this in life & he must be this way because of it. He made a deal with a Voudou god of some kind that backfired. He's in hell now so he wishes to break the deal holding him back. This is why he is a lord conquering hell because he needs the power to break his own chains. He keeps smiling because he's gritting his teeth & he knows it he stops, he'll breakdown.

You know at first I thought their relationship would be like two evil gay dads and their college-influencer daughter… but I feel like the Vees are structured more-so like two evil gays who are toxic to each other with their girl best friend/marriage counselor always caught in the middle (much to her dismay).

You know what, I really hope Charlie finding him a peaceful solution to get him what he wants and it genuinely touching him and making him care back is his redemption. He already alludes to having a soft spot for them even if his main goal is getting out of his predicament and getting power. If sinners can be redeemed though, and Alastor just wants to be in charge and honestlt Lucifer would probably kill for a second chance that's genuine once they deal with Lillith don't you think that just putting Alastor in charge of pride and hell and getting him out of his deal willfully would be all the more reason for him to have a change of heart? that or his deal isn't with Lillith at all and it was a fakeout but with Roo (or Lillith is working with Roo and he's under Lillith) putting someone "evil" in charge allows Roo to thrive where Lucifer and Charlie are good at heart so unless they set Alastor up as an antagonist for the hotel to defeat I imagine he'll become a roadblock only to have his goal achieved through the help of his "friends" and have his personal change of heart that way if any and maybe when everything is said and done he and Lucifer and Charlie get along and he still gets his dreams of being the head honcho in Hell. Rather than redeeming sinners he just runs things and keeps shit in line while Lucifer gets to be back with the other Seraphim post his own redemption. I think that'd be a cute direction if they take it because then everyone earns redemtion a different way "cold-hearted" Alastor comes to genuinely care about others, gets what he wants, and in turn gives someone else what they want win-win idk if it'd work out so cleanly but still

Remembering he is the main antagonist and irredeemable devil. He almost died and is going crazy because of an idea others would think he died for them, while in reality the deal he made with Lilith forced him to put his life in danger(Lilith side of the deal was probably that Alastor would be Charley servant, but that's just my theory), and now he tries to think a way out of that deal, and he litteraly promised he will take his revenge on Lilith and probably Charley when he figures out how to break or circumvent that deal. My theory He tried to get out of the deal by starting the fight between angels and devils hoping an angel would kill Charley but when Adam beat his ass he escaped as probably Charley would want him to, technically not breaking the deal.

This is the perfect example of a Dead-life Crisis and Mental BreakDown at the same time.
