One for the bucket list - The Devils Staircase

Since hearing this trail was being sanitised I knew I had to ride it before it was all hardback and drainage. Glencoe to Kinlochleven on the Devils Staircase.
All the way on Falla Brae - Glentress Mtb Scotland

After a day of hanging on for dear life at Golfie, i needed some flow to to finish the day. Sorry, not sorry about the singing 😶 I was excited.
Isolated in Inverpolly - Mtb Scotland

Riding the most isolated trail I’ve ever ridden, in the shadow of a mountain in Inverpolly surrounded by some of the best scenery I’ve seen......until my tire got shredded.

Sampling some of the trails the Cairngorms area has to offer and this had to be on the list. A great piece of undulating trail that delivers good flow at any skill level.

Getting in some evening riding during the week on the local singletrack.
Third Time Lucky - Descending Beinn Narnain via The Cobbler trail

It took 3 attempts to get a good clean run down this usually very busy path in Arrochar. But it was worth making the trip multiple times as nothing beats riding great trail like this.
Descending Ben Ledi - Mountain biking in The Trossachs
Переглядів 9977 років тому
I made a solo trip to Ben Ledi as i wanted to avoid the hordes at the trail centres and ride something more natural with an amazing backdrop. It is pretty steep in places on the upper sections and quite intimidating as you're hiking up. However it all seem to fall into place on the way down. I'd had some bad luck recently with crashes and suffering a scourge of punctures so i was pretty reserve...
The training grounds - Mountain biking in Aberfoyle
Переглядів 3337 років тому
If you live in central Scotland it's certainly worth taking a trip to Aberfoyle. The trails here are a great place to hone your skills, build your confidence sticking a line in rutts and as you can see the foliage grows in strong in places and really tests your reflexes
The Flying Scott - E-Biking in Glentress
Переглядів 1007 років тому
Took the opportunity to demo an E-bike during the tweed love festival to find out what all the fuss was about and to determine if they can indeed shred like any other bike. The simple conclusion.......yes. It took a few jumps and terns to get used to the weight and how the bike handled but once i had it figured out it was so much fun.

Finding Flow in Ben Lawers Valley part 1 - mtb Scotland

This trail could be easily overlooked on your way to summit either of the near munros. But it's a great bit of flowing singletrack and the fading daylight set the scene nicely.
Heartbreak Ridge - Ballater - mtb Scotland
Переглядів 2,7 тис.7 років тому
This natural trail is unlike anything i have rode so far and definitely warrants a second trip to explore more of the surrounding trails. It is 3.6km of flowing singletrack and drops 330m over that distance. www.trailforks.com/trails/heartbreak-ridge-61443/

THIS is why the 'pedal bike people' have issues with 'e-bike people': Just when they've come to terms with their suffering as being the price to pay for the reward of the upcoming downhill, they hear the "whirr" of an e-bike politely cruise past them. Even after spending hundreds of dollars cutting hundreds of grams off their bikes, the 'pedal bike people' feel like their reward still costs a lot more than what the 'e-bike people' are paying. 🤔

What about those who own both? Do they have split personalities and become begrudged when they see someone on an e-bike?

Singletrack Steve I actually happen to be one of those people. When I'm on my Santa Cruz Bullit and I see a rider on an e-bike, I think to myself "I'll appreciate the downhill more than that guy because I will have EARNED the reward. ...And if I had pulled the trigger on that carbon seat post I saw on eBay, I would probably be keeping up with him right now." When I'm on my LEVO and see another rider on an e-bike, I think "Yup, THIS is the future." 😜

Yeah.....nah. Everyone who gets to the top has earned their descent and can appreciate it all the same. THIS is the result of pushing yourself equally, regardless of what bike is under you.

Your commentary on the first drop and the one after the fly over are superb 🙈😆👍..... The run up to the first table top is too short, Ive never cleared it and I've probably done it about 50 times. Good video 👍

Thanks. That was my first and only time down that trail. I did give the big table a second go but still struggled to clear it, though jumps really aren't my thang.

As an owner of an awesome ebike and love the direction they are taking us. I have to say its stuff like this that doesn't help the case for ebikes. Aggressively passing people almost causing them to wreck making a competition out of it? Not trying to be a horse's arse but think about it

Singletrack Steve this is a bad look for ebikes. Mtb in general is not loved by outdoor enthusiasts. By riding like this you’re turning regular Mtbr’s against ebikers too. You can’t just go passing everyone on a short single track section. A lot of those riders were working hard to keep spinning and make those switch back, you flying past them adds a element of difficulty I’m sure they’re not comfortable with. I think short sections like that you got to just chill in eco mode. Then boost just past everyone on the fire road.

Tom Velocity if you take the pedestrian bridge over the A82 it takes you to the gate at the end, then it's just a case of pushing up.
