Hey bud would love to see you here but I can't recommend Ireland as surf trip unless you're really invested to visit Ireland and surfing is 2nd or 3rd thing on your agenda. Its expensive weather is shit really through the year and surf except in the Nov-April months in inconsistent you might get lucky but could be flat for 2 weeks. It's a great place to live and surf but as a holiday I just can't recommend it unless you're loaded and can keep an eye on forecast fly in last minute and catch it when it's good. @@Tonnmharcaíocht yea this is one of the busiest spots in Ireland when it's good. Lost a couple of good waves trying to get through the crowds but better be safe than hit someone.

Vibe in the water is super friendly but also drop-ins are not a common occurrence in Irelands lineups like they are in your warm water surf locations so if drop in be sure to get out of the way asp apologize and make sure it doesn't happen again as you might get "politely" asked to get out :D Basically you respect the priority of the who ever is closest to the break and don't wave grab you will be fine. Enjoy Ireland its a great place to live and surf!

I'm finally getting at least decent enough on my backside so it doesn't feel like I'm wasting a session if I surf a left so that's progress I guess

I surfed a couple of left sessions lately but nothing as big as this day hopefully more to come

@mrbeansys I'm the same but opposite, goofy... been surfing 30 years but still not a fan of rights... it was only about 10 years ago, I went to Morocco for 6 months (The Land of the Rights) on purpose to force myself spending a lot of time surfing backhand

@@DougieBlue Ireland has some world class waves but it's super inconsistent my videos are cherry picked as I only show good sessions and I mostly don't even take the GoPro out because its onshore mess but if you get lucky and land on good condition its one of the best places to surf!

@mrbeansys my new year's resolution is to get fit and back to surfing properly, I think I've gone backwards this year

@@MCSurfPhotography I'll try to make up the best for the next month or so and after that god knows when I'll be able to surf again... But hopefully by the end of summer I'll be moving to the west coast

I wish I got just one day with 8+ ft with 14 secs as I can see a couple of spots lighting up in really big surf but wasnt so lucky.

Oh man I was in the water for 4 hours on the day just couldn't get enough.

I surfed some chunky waves and had a few long holdowns but its hard to even imagine taking these bumbs and getting back for more. Big pair on who even paddles out on these waves.

@ I hear ya man. I’m planning on moving back to Éire from West Aus in the not too distant future. Cannot wait for emerald waves. It can be terrifying out here, particularly in the South in winter. Huge hold downs and next level power. Love your work horseín. 🤘

@@Pimsiebenhey bud basically I would not really recommend Ireland if your only interest is surfing or you have a tight budget. Ireland is expensive for holidays and if you book any season be it Fall/Winter its still really inconsistent. And when its bad I mean the weather its really bad. I would only really recommend Ireland if surfing your 2nd interest and if you get lucky with conditions great if not you better have other plans Or option 2 you have money to burn and keep an eye on forecast and book last minute its going to be expensive but better that then spending less and be stuck in bad weather and no surf. Mind you I cherry pick my videos and only post good conditions. Sorry for bumming you out but I think Ireland is great to live and surf but for holidays I really can't recommend. If dead set on Ireland I would say November up to early April in Bundoran or Lahinch area your best bet. Any questions feel free to ask.

@@befree9763 you don't surf this type of waves for quantity but quality one good one here might be your best wave ever.

@@liamloftus6123 I think it's a mixture of both locals and int chargers. Also it was a nice big swell but not huge XXL one so loads of local young ones earning their mulla stripes.

The quality of Irish surfers has gone up ten fold the past 10 years or so. Some very talented board riders coming out of the Emerald Isle now, mate. If you haven't been, please stop by.☘

@@georgeclayton5890 yea that one hurt in the full footage I think he took a set on head just as he surfaced. The safety crew on jet skis was on point though I was impressed with their organisation as much as with the surfers tbh

@@greyif9038 hey bud thanks! I would say Bundoran would definitely be my nr1 pick as it has spots for beginners up to super advance level and it's the most consistent. Other would be Lahinch in County Clare probably. January will be cold but good winter suit 5/4 with hood boots and gloves and its not the cold of the water but changing to and out of the wetsuit is when you will feel it. Hopefully all goes well for you and you enjoy Ireland!
