How to Make a Quick Vegan Pasta Dinner
The viral feta pasta rekindled the spark between pasta and I... dish after dish I just want more!
This is a totally vegan recipe that took 20 mins from start to finish (real time) to make! Fast, easy, & delicious? No.. I’m not talking about your ex, I’m talking about this flavor packed pasta recipe!
Here are the details:
@gardein Italian Sausage
@tofuttibrands cream cheese
@shopritestores frozen pepper mix veggies
Onion (1/2)
Shell pasta
Garlic Powder, Black Pepper, Chili Flakes, Oregano (do the laws of physics even permit a pasta dish to exist without oregano?!)
Olive oil
Salt - I only salted the pasta water bc the sausage contains enough salt to hold up the entire dish!
With that being said: Pasta la vista, baby!

    Why is the food in rehabs so bad? Do they use an RD? I feel so bad for our patients. Our snacks and foods are fried, processed, canned and we lack variety and color. :( If one became a RD, could you change that systemically? I dont get how any RD approves the food we give out.

      They can contract a chef trained RD and approve the appropriate budget to have better food. Most likely they’re not budgeting for good quality Whole Foods and ppl who know how to cook it and the ability and equipment to store and cook it properly.

    I am currently a nutrition and dietetics student in NC. Our tuition isnt that high and a lot of these cons you listed are for students who intend to do the masters degree and become a registered dietitian. There are a lot of nutrition options that don’t require you to become a registered dietitian and they don’t require so much schooling. I am pursuing the DTR requirement. What you said is true but may not apply to everyone.

    I was doing the online dietetics program at Alabama, and I experienced a lot of racism as a hispanic woman. The professors bullied me out of the program. I ended up completing a Masters, getting my NASM Nutrition Coach certification, and currently working on my Certified Nutrition Specialist (CNS) credential. Going this route was the best decision I ever made. I was able to work full time while completing my clinical hours under supervision. I test in June, and I will continue with my DCN ❤ this fall.

    They aren’t open enough about the cons from the beginning. At one point one of my professors said, “I hope none of you are in this for the money”.. and at the time I wasn’t. But life happens and you need money to survive. Also, you aren’t really “not having a paycheck for a year”, it’s more like you have to PAY to work. It’s an internship that you need to PAY for. Plus, the additional requirement of the masters makes more like 2 years at this point.

      I am in a graduate program combined with the dietetic internship at the moment. To get my undergraduate degree in nutrition, my university required microbiology, bio-organic chemistry, anatomy and physiology I & II, psychology. The only math classes that were required were statistical reasoning courses (which had basic math prerequisites).

The only people who care or really even know the difference between a nutritionist and a dietitian are the dietitians because of all the issues she mentions here with loans, school, blah blah. If you are passionate about nutrition, please just don't share information that isn't backed by science. Otherwise just work for yourself as a nutrition pro.

      I applaud the bravery for going into dietetics without being good in science! Brother did a similar thing, he wasn’t the best in math, but with the help of a tutor (or several), constant office hours, help from friends, and lots of books from the library, he managed to graduate in Statistics/Data Analysis. So, my advice to you is you don’t need to be good _right now_ but with enough effort and practice you’ll eventually reach the level of excellence ✨ (or hopefully close to it). Another piece of advice that you may already be doing is _keep all your notes and have them organized_ . One of the best things about STEM is how interconnected everything is. Something from nutrition will tie in with something from anatomy/physiology will tie in with something from chemistry will tie in with something from microbiology, which _all_ strengthens your understanding of the topic. (I recommend writing notes on a tablet/iPad so it’s easier, but not everyone can afford to do that). You’ll be fine! Remember to _breathe_ . Meditate, drink your water, chat with friends and family, everything will work out in the end 👍🏻

Start by reading Jason Fung’s book “The Obesity Code”. Limiting salt is NOT the cure for blood pressure!! Limiting fat is NOT the cure for obesity. “You can’t make them” and they “don’t listen” because you’ve learned WRONG DOGMA.
