9:00 Tokimeki Memorial also has a blood type system. You can select one for both you and the main girl. The only game I can play in the series (besides the Girl's Side DS games) is the SNES game so I'm not sure if this actually has an effect.

I played this game religiously as a child... and used the forums as my first social media site. I loved the community and people on there a lot and I am extremely grateful for an training class that my school did on cyber safety from a young age. If this site was made today with the modern understanding of the internet it could easily have been a much more dangerous place. The mods allowed Children to host a "publicly radio" that was just a link to a different website where these two young girls who I think were sisters would chat and play staticy Katy Perry from UA-cam through their speakers. I had their final stream saved to my computer for years and would listen to it from time to time cause I did not know that UA-cam existed until 7 - 8 yrs later. They had mini games like a fashion walk and you could get the dogs to walk down a cat walk and pose. A bubble shooter game that was really fun. I had several dogs; Trouble a dachshund, Callie a Austrailian Shepard, Arthur a Husky, and 5 or 6 others. I only ever gave that site $5 but I think they charged my parent's card like 3 additional times (?? Dont remember if that was them or another site at the same timeframe). There were also forums of people who would help take care of other people's FooPets cause if you did not take care of them, they would go to The Pound and you had to pay (real or fake i dont remember) money to get them out. I would post in there constantly to the point that I ignored my own pets and they went to The Pound 💀 The website was also extremely unmoderated and had adult jokes and content that I did not understand until years later after my first exposure to it at the rip age of under double digits. But it was nothing graphic or scarring, nor did I have any contact with anyone harmful. I really believe that this was just the beginning of what exists of the current problem with media specifically aimed at children. If someone wants to make money, they have no problem using children and their emotions to do so.

I remember loving this game as a kid, but never going past what was offered for free/without an account. I was really into realistic pet simulators, so this game really stuck out to me! I wish I had been able to dive more into it, i liked it 💙

Oh my god, this site got me in trouble as a kid! I was obsessed with Foopets, so for my 10th birthday, I asked for a 1 month subscription, and my parents agreed. After they cancelled my subscription though, the site kept charging my dad's card. I got in so much trouble and I wasn't allowed to sign up for any pay-to-play online games after that. At least I wasn't the only one lol!

I miss this so much. I saw a screenshot on TikTok from the game, I immediately remembered in 2009 playing this game. I hadn’t remembered the name since 2010. I actually cried because my memories are going away and I have to see pictures to remember things now…

I got a new phone this weekend with lots of space (something I was lacking on my ancient Note 8) so I decided to check out and revisit some mobile games. Not a big mobile gamer either, I don't like time gating behind premium currency so anything that has that is an instant turn-off... and that's most mobile games. And yep, I remembered that's why I only played Pocket Camp for a single week back when it first came out. It was so annoying! But I still wanted to revisit it and see if anything had changed and I discovered there is a monthly membership for 3 bucks that gives you reduced crafting times based on the age of your account. And because my account is nearly 7 years old, that means every single thing I've been crafting is instant. So yeah... I'm actually enjoying myself now! Sure, it's 3 bucks every month as long as I keep the subscription active... but for right now at least, I feel it's worth it to me. Instant crafting was the thing I needed for this to be playable.

from what i'm aware of, the blood type thing is sort of related to japanese culture. in japan, your blood type predicts your personality and connection with others. in tomodachi collection (the prequel to tomodachi life that wasn't released outside of japan), they ask for the mii's blood type too, so i think harvest moon does the same?

When i heard Nintendo shut down 3ds wifi i assumed it was in every way possible, it seems like im able to update still though so im relieved im still able to play it again in its fullest form 😊

I really liked this game because I could keep the puppy on my screen while I stayed up late to complete homework. They would “sleep” and I could “see them sleeping and breathing” and it was comforting.

In Harvest Moon DS luckily neighbours don't annoy you anymore for using golden lumber for fencing. But somehow murder is posible in the game, at least twice. In other videogames the games also ask your blood type, like villagers from Animal Crossing. Beware, the reason why the superstion of blood types being related to personality is common in Japan i because it was made up by a japanese eugenicist from the 60s.

I still play nintendogs with my DSi, I won't separate with it, Never. I lost the previous one ten years ago and one year ago I've bought it from a friend with the same color as the previous I had, which he doesn't play with it anymore. It's on perfect conditions by the way. I can't wait to buy other games for it

If you still have to sell your soul as F2P player and login every few hours (even at night) just to keep up with events, then it's not worth playing

This is really a great video, it's so bad that the algorithm isn't showing it to more people... I mean, it did show it to me but I still feel it doesn't have enough views. But anyways, I really feel the same about Nintendogs + Cats, it's a hit or miss situation. The original will always have a place in my heart even if I can't remember any of my dogs' name lol except they were all labradors (and I still like them today, I think thanks to this game). The 3DS one was really flashy and cool looking but maybe I've grown out of the mimic? I don't know, maybe I should try it again myself too

Harvest Moon DS needs a remake badly, It has so much content, hindered by its horrible bugs

"Free-to-start" has been Nintendo's preferred language for these types of games since the late "Iwata era" (RIP), he himself had spoken about why they use this terminology. "Free-to-play" is misleading as those games could be easily confused for actual freeware, whereas "free-to-start" is unambiguous in stating that you can start playing at no cost, while there is also paid content. I personally only use "F2P" as a label for ppl who voluntarily abstain from spending money on freely downloadable (i.e. free-to-start) games

At least I got to enjoy Kinectimals for a little while though. 😝

I love pocketcamp, been on since day one bc I couldn't afford NH and now I'm hooked! I recommend playing for a week before buying the plans, but they are worth it! Great video!
