Nice!
Great content - thanks for the prerequisite list! I would like to learn how to create a digital catalogue that I can flow a customers logo onto the images/items in the catalogue - anyone know how/where to direct me?
take a look at these videos. www.youtube.com/@PateRanchCreations/search?query=flowpaper
Very impressive result!
Revisiting this video as I am about to order a 60W CO2 galvo. When you mentioned the honeycomb tray that you ordered, did you order that with your galvo? Thanks.
I did order it with my galvo. It allows you to have a raised bed to cut materials. Just ask vendor how much and add to order.
This is the video review that convinced me to buy a Thunder Nova 35/100 for my business - and the video I share when people ask about it. I'm a few months into ownership and it runs all day almost every business day - and I've had absolutely no complaints. The thing is rock solid, reliable, consistent and does everything I've asked of it. Can't say that for my prior Omtech CO2 laser.
Hello..I have only one question…can this laser cut 100 cards at a time? Each card is 350 GSM..(duplex paper board)
Excellent!
cost is relevant to benefit no doubt, but DANG! lol
would need a lot of repeat work to justify for sure.
@@PateRanchCreations I don't even need one but I want one! LOL.. that thing is bad ass, especially the continuous length engraving! I've got a 40" long cutting board I just finished for someone and I would MUCH rather engrave it using the UV rather than the Co2.
Looks like a good cure for, the need for speed. Optimizing processes is really cool to see.
I agree. Will help me for sure.
Great video - thank you for taking the time to share!
You mentioned having $2 mil in insurance is something a company might want you to have. What are you insuring for them for that amount?
When wanting to work with Universities via CLC.com, they require you to get insurance to get approval. The requirement is a minimum of $2 million in the aggregate. clc.com/home/get-licensed/
Sorry I missed this live session. I enjoyed this video greatly. The points you both gave are spot on. As a "1-man" shop I am struggling trying to find the time to get out of my shop and into the customer's shop....so to speak. I have been trying to concentrate on more B2B this year. It is a struggle for me, but my profits are up this year because of the few companies I have been able to align with. As a small laser shop (2ea CO2 and 1ea fiber), I have to cautious of how many B2B I can take on. I am motivated and want to get better at this. Thanks again for a great session.
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve really struggled to get all my ducks in a row as well as figuring out the b2b business model
Revisiting this video again. Great video! Several questions: 1) Do you have any thoughts (or seen/heard anything) with the 3d maybe having more issues because of it being a more complex machine which seems to have a lot more moving parts, and 2) If Lightburn ever came out with 3d support, do you think you would switch to that assuming that it was as robust as their current software? The only two things that are keeping me from going 3d is cost per watt and no Lightburn support. Thanks.
Wow so cool! Thank you for sharing.
Great video, would you mind sharing some of the settings you have on the 10w uv - awaiting delivery on mine and don't have a material library to even start from. Thank you in advance.
www.uv.lasertips.org/ this is a good starting point. There is also a group online if you do facebook. facebook.com/groups/1850436275172494
Is that leather? And what are you spraying with in the airbrush?
it is Veg Tan leather and I use Fiebings dye.
How did I not know about this podcast?
that is great!!
If this video has made you lean towards a thunder, There are two things you need to understand and consider. 1. This creator is an affiliate of Thunder Laser. I didn't hear or see that disclosure anywhere, but I may have missed it. The comparison is going to and does have bias interjected. 2. The engraving comparison was silly. "35" power isn't a percentage, it is an arbitrary number based on your controllers firmware. The only way to equally measure the machines output would be to set power at maximum allowance. You also have variables like LPI, and accel and decel settings that can drastically alter engraving times, especially when we are talking about the differences in job completion as shown in this video.
I am not an affiliate for Thunder. I am a brand ambassador. Two different things. The Lightburn software was the same session for both engraves. I select a different controller for the job so same LPI exists. You can not believe me and that's ok. Omtech is a great machine if your budget is lower of which I pointed out in final video. It for sure has it's place. If you want more features and have a larger purse then the Thunder may be worth it for a buyer.
@@PateRanchCreations there is nothing to "disbelieve". I'm not suggesting that what you showed on the screen wasn't the settings you ran. What I am saying is the performance comparisons is deceiving and to an unknowing, potential operator, likely the majority of people watching this video, are going to take the results as the TL is more powerful, and faster than the OM - and this just isn't true. Did you load the correction file from the USB included with your OMtech? Did you go trough a full alignment prior to shooting the video on both machines? Etc etc. There is certainly more to "set up" or upgrade with the OM initially, but in terms of performance, the difference in both machines will be marginal at best.
@@Disciple4man I did alignment on the OmTech and loaded the file as it was a brand new machine. You are paying for more features in my opinion on the Thunder machine vs the OmTech and it requires less "tinker/tuning" that many owners don't want to do. They want to buy a machine and press start. Of those two machines, Thunder gets the edge in that category. The OmTech is not a bad machine but you better like to tinker around with it vs a Thunder or other more expensive lasers on the market.
Very very good 👍😊
Happy birthday to her
FUNNY YOU SAID NO PLASTIC IN ARE SHOP WE HAVE NEVER USED WOOD, NOT EVAN JUST TO TRY IT. LASERS ARE COOL. THAKS FOR YOUR POST
Great job!! Thanks for doing this, I’ve been wanting to create something like this! I’m going to check it out.
thank you. very good tip
Love it!! ❤
This is amazing!!! Can’t wait to sign up!! 🤩
You ladies are simply the BEST!!! ❤
thank you for sharing
Very helpful!
Love how organized and clean your space is. Inspiring!
Thank you!!! I have to get a UV.
Thanks!
Thank you!
Great info
Always fun to see your projects!
Is the fan blowing the smoke keeping the part cool?
that is an exhaust fan that removes the burning fumes out of the room. Bye bye stink.
Thats another level!❤
Why do neither machine have an Ma meter on them to see how much power the laser is really pushing out?
May I ask what is the focus of your 2” lens? I have a 51/100. I have just found you and I appreciate your detail to hitting on all topics we as new laser users have questions on. Thank you for your kindness.
6mm on a thunder cone with a 2" lens.
WoW thank 😊
What UV laser would you recommend
Haotian UV Lasers. 10 watt if you can swing it.
Thank you for making this video! I only wish I would have found you 3 yrs ago! As a newbie I can tell you had I seen this when I purchased my OMTECH I would have got a smaller machine and gotten a Thunder over an OMTECH . I could give you a whole list of things that were wrong upon receiving my 80w., but I won’t I will say do your research before you buy your machine. I will say there is something to say about starting a business and have the confidence to generate QUALITY products is HUGE! I have no doubt THUNDER. would have provided that for me.
Will the Nova 24 have a 80 watt model in the future?
How long do I need to have a FB page to get back in to Laser Lounge. I had to create a new FB page and I really miss the Laser Lounge. :)

How do you get rid of the burnt smell of leather after engraving?
it goes away.
Thank you so much for the absolute best video on the different machines and materials. I was about to buy a gantry machine but not now after watching this. Do you allow people in your FB laser group before they get a machine? I’d like to join to learn. Kim
Hello Kim, it's Alisha. Join the group and on the questions for years of experience put "Alisha invited me via UA-cam after talking with her" so the mods add you. Thanks for the feedback as me and my bestie love talking about lasers.
What do projects like this typically pay out?
For my shop very well. The material is less cost wise then plywood and I charge just a tad less then I would for a plywood sign. Very easy to work with and lightweight for hanging. Great for party planning people or one day events.
Did the yellow arm that holds the dust collection hose, come with the phantom, or was that from your dust collector company? (ps nice machine!)
It actually came with the machine. Nice design isn't it. We have been very happy with our purchase.
What was the cement you mentioned you used? Great video, thanks!
Fiebings Leather Cement.
