Imagine custom campaign wher u have to stop "Angel" ships from breaching the Khiva reactor, spawning one after another and creeping towards its target. Each one bringing its own flavor of madness like respawning nukes, super heavy armor, absurdly big hive fleet, etc. You are limited by your resources, they are not. You have to scout, analize and neutralize the angel before they deliver the apocalypse.

What if you made a ship the size of the entire battlefield? To just encompass the enemy fleet?

The "bomb" is obviously just some ammo units in some hull, but the mechanism to release the bomb is actually very cool, so for anyone wondering: The connection between the two small hull pieces, one square and one triangular, isn't supposed to work. The bomb connected to the left makes it work, but you can't just build it like that. You need to build a temporary box out of small hull so the square and triangle piece is on the same ship but not actually attatched to each other, and then you can place the bomb on those two spots and destroy the surrounding hull pieces. When you release the bomb in combat, that hull connection will fail too and you can make yourself a massive "bomb" that disconnects just like the real thing. Just make sure it's the first bomb you place so it disconnects the big "bomb" all at once from your ship.

hell yeah! i also tried to make a star destroyer i spent 4 hours on it and when i was finally ready to save it (because yes i hadn't been saving whilst making like a dumbass) the game crashed trying to save and i lost it all :( now i just make the biggest bricks i can with the most guns. (my current biggest ship is 1028 x 150m which is very big but still not the biggest but i dont think my current pc will allow me to make it any bigger)
