How to replace your washing machine door seal
Hi Julie, thank you for your help. I never thought to remove the filters to gain access to the lights. I was trying to work out how to remove the cover where light is illuminated. It’s an older Westinghouse rangehood that works very well so not about to get a new one. Thank you again.
Hi guys, the video doesn’t say if I need to close the main during the replacement. Please clarify.
He did not explained well
Good job man you just save me 👏👏 thank you
You are very welcome! :)
Not an ‘install’ video, just a screw in and out replacement. Next in series: ‘how to plug in your fridge’.
Thank you for your feedback :)
bro thinks putting the seal back on is that easy...what a joke
Thanks for your feedback. Putting a washing machine seal on can be tricky and at the start of the video we recommend that experienced DIYers tackle this task.
👍❤️
But how do you put a HEPA filter in? Apparently the entire casing needs to be removed. How??
Great stuff Julie!
What kind of screwdriver head do I need to use? I would like to change the door handle, but I found out that I am not familiar with this type of screwdriver head. thank you
Thanks, just did it on a series 4, really easy no need to take weights off.
Glad it was helpful. Thanks for your feedback :)
They have made that so awkward that 9 outta 10 people are just gonna buy a new machine ...me included.
Hello, appreciate that this is one of the tricker repairs to tackle! A qualified service technician can do the job easily.
This inspired me to try it myself, so easy, took barely any time at all, thank you!
Great to hear, happy that the video was able to help you tackle this task easily!
Humans: Can engineer a washing machine but not a little water slide to make catching the water that pour out of the filter easier. Good job, Excellent.
This sounds like a very good invention and yes, suprisingly no one has come up with it yet!
Thanks dude. So straight forward and ez to understand. 10/10. Awesome!
Great to hear :)
Whats approx cost to get someone to do it
Hello, we only sell the spare parts and do not do onsite domestic repairs. The best bet is to search for some local technicians in your area and get a quote. Thanks, Statewide
Do yiu have to unplug it
For safety, we recommend unplugging your machine from the power source.
i have a hoover washer dryer one thing i wondered and has started to worry me is where is the lint filter and where does all the lint go when im drying clothes
Hello, here is some useful info that my be helpful from the Hoover website - service.hoover.co.uk/advice-centre/where-is-the-fluff-filter-on-my-washer-dryer/

What if you can’t open the door?
Sorry for the late reply! If your washing machine door is locked, here is a troubleshooting guide - www.statewideapp.com.au/blogs/how-to-open-a-locked-door-on-your-front-loader-washing-machine/
Thanks so much I did mine today ! Works again with hot air! Yay saved hundreds
Great to hear! Always a bonus when you can save yourself $$
You did not push the seal ends back in. This is needed for models with a seal on the bottom e.g. Kogan
Thanks for sharing this handy tip!
Unfortunately, my Smeg (built in) oven element isn't held in by screws/bolts. There's just two smooth round headed fasteners. Now what?
Will be bolted into place, only way to remove will be via the back and possibly removing the back panel. Take a photo so you know which spade connectors go where.
much helpful, thank you!!
You're welcome! Thanks for your feedback :)
Make sense, thank you for all the tips
You're so welcome :)
Life saver video 👍🏼
Awesome. Glad you found it helpful :)
WHEN YOU TAKE THE DOOR OFF THE SPRINGS ARE LOADED! I have a Blanco BSF95wff door hinge that I inspected. When you take the door off the hinge it is spring loaded. if you release the catch it's dangerous - it could cut someone's finger off. Lucky I had my fingers clear when I released the catch. Surely the person who did this video must know that? SAFETY comes first. I am really annoyed now. Also - I don't know if it's the spring causing the problem of the door not closing properly.
Thank you for your feedback. 100% agree that safety comes first. We did not have this issue with the model of oven used in the video. Always take care when attempting any repair and read manufacturers instructions first for your specific make and model of appliance. When in doubt, it is always advisable to reach out to a qualified technician. Thank you for sharing your tip to ensure that others do not have the same issue when dealing with their specific oven.
@@StatewideAppliances - thanks for your reply - It's all OK now. I got 2 new hinges as spare parts and replaced them myself.
@@Bobby-fj8mk Nice work :)
@@StatewideAppliances - thanks - it ended up being an easy job.
I can't get the handle back in with the pin. It's at an odd angle 😢
For specific troubleshooting issues, please reach out to the manufacturer or refer to your user manual. Hopefully you have now been able to resolve your issue.
ahh if only it were that easy on my door which is completely diffferent system.
Seal applications do vary according to specific make and models. I recommend refering to your operating manual or reaching out to the manufacturer if you need guided support. Hopefully you can find a fix.
Great job. Very clear and professional video. Very appreciate
Thank you for the feedback and glad you found the video helpful.
I replaced mine, plugged the stove back in, and when i turned the breaker on, POP! the entire stove doesnt work. Thoughts?
Johnny you may need to reach out to a qualified technician to assist with troubleshooting and repairing your oven as there could be another issue.
Very helpful. Thank you.
You're welcome!
Thank you however how do I open the hepa air clean rectangle honeycomb filter.. the top one .. mine doesn’t open ?
My old oven element has a slight bend going into the oven but new one is straight and hits back plate hiding wires and throws the breaker. Do i need the back plate on that hides the wires?
My oven door open at the side not downwards how do you take off a side opening Oven Door?
Thansk for your question, our video is a general guide however It may be better to reach out to the manufacturer for specific instrucitons relating to your oven model.
Thank you! I wished I knew the allen key trick BEFORE taking door off. While the door was off I had to push the hinge to the open position and place an allen inside. Kind of dangerous because the hinge was strong and wanted to kick back. Anyone in this situation I advice using something like a small crow bar to push the hinge to the lock position, don't do it by hand.
Thanks for sharing your feedback. Yes the allen key trick is a handy one. Oven doors can be challenging!
since mine is bent quite badly from heating and lack of support I will see if I can bend it back into shape and maybe add some support since it still works but I assume it will happen again. Update I straightened the element by using a copper water pipe braced against the floor of the oven and pressing hard against the element, the rest of the element acted as a spring so when I turned the oven on and it heated up to red hot it gradually bent the metal back into shape.
nice to see you not taking the back off as the other videos all suggest. thanks
Fantastic thank you 🙏 ❤
You are so welcome! :)
Good Video
I jave an omega 00651xr no screws. Looks like access is from the back? Any instructions available. Im going to purchase the part from your store.
Hello, you will need to remove the back panel of the oven to access the screws of the grill element. The part number for the grill element is 12570021. Please reach out to our team on 1800 005 220 or email us at spares@statewideapp.com.au and we are more than happy to assist. Thanks, Mary.
Thanks you ! Was the seal. Can't imagine how many people changed their dishwasher for a dirty seal !!
My oven door has two hinges can not get the door back on hinges do not go in all the way
Perfect video, just helped us get our door back on when one of the locks seized up. 🎉
Great to hear Paul!
I untwisted the trap filter and water has come pouring out all over the kitchen floor! I twisted it closed again, then had to mop up the floor. Tried again and more water came pouring out, it's far to low to get a bucket or a bowl under, why is the water not stopping pouring out? I've twisted it closed again but I know the same thing is gonna happen again if I try untwisting it.
You have to tilt the washing machine and put something underneath to catch the water, that gets most of it
@@imike964 I tried that, couldn't move the damn thing and put something low enough on my own.
That happened to me
You can try placing a baking tray in front of the hatch or any shallow dish
Did you ever find out how to best deal with the washer problem?!?!? I'm thinking of getting a new washer and would like one with a lint trap like the ones my family had in the 60s & 70s. They sure don't make em like they used to! Now most the top loaders send the lint to the septic system.
Helpful
Thanks for this. Based on the writing on the element it effectively goes in upside down on my Stoves DF600. Took me about an hour.
How to remove the pins out of the hinges and actually remove them?
Thank you!
